Honestly, in my experience so far, cavalry has no fear and just slides like a mountain through my infantry. I do not even bother with spear infantry because they get scattered by cavalry and then mopped up by enemy infantry or archer units. So my basic setup for my soldiery stands as: heavy melee infantry (mix between shield and berserk units), archers dominating the majority, with cavalry as a screen or diversion. Much like how I played back in Warband. I really wanted to see spear infantry do their job, especially because I have been played Rome II: Total War, and just watching cavalry get obliterated is both immersive and rewarding. I am not trying to necessarily compare the two games, but in this instance I was hoping for better. Using spears for my character is certainly a lot better than in Warband, and I am footslogger, so that is a nice upgrade from the previous titles. However, I am no Greek hero, so I rely heavily on Javees&Shield, and then 2hander in the crush of melee.

I am actually enjoying the quest. First time I just followed my guys and we attacked each little camp one-by-one, then drawing in the randos walking around. Waaay easier than in Warband.

Is there a way to learn these companions' stats before shelling out the cash for them to join you?

Not sure what the actual issue was, but switching it back to headset mode actually solved the problem. Originally, I had it on stereo, but Æthelwulf made me try out switching it to headset. Boom. No more glitchy audio.

Damn, yeah, not much to do at that point. Especially since we cannot start out own kingdoms yet. Has anyone tried playing through this to see if any factions attempt to reemerge? Is that even possible right now?

I am actually surprised there isn't an import/export feature for EA. That was one of the saving graces with M&B back in the day. Sure, with most updates I had to restart an entirely new campaign, however, being able to transfer my old character files mitigated some of the loss. At least I could carry on with actual campaign progress, but having to start completely from scratch is tiresome. I am not complaining per se, as this inevitably allows me to finer tune my character build to my liking, but it can bog down my enthusiasm.

EDIT: And what the heck is with my avatar? Why am I some Lady Chedina? This I do not approve of.

I am actually, Turtle Beach (Recon?) headset. Thanks for the info, I will give it a shot later!

Edit: Actually, I had them set to stereo setup already apparently, so I am going to switch through the different options and see which works best, or if the issue continues.
