  1. B Musket Era Sound and Smoke FX Mod v3.0 up!

Looks great! The smoke in the day might not be too visible, but it does add a fog of war effect that I'd love to see in more games. Happy grenades have another sound now too
  2. Why No Captain Battle?

This would be great imo, but what would happen if all the players died? There will sureley be some AI still alive and even though an all out charge might work, AI in mount and blade could cause the game never ending  because of AI getting stuck behind objects.

Maybe to make sure this doesn't happen the AI will try to run and leave the battle when their leader dies.

As a small side note, does anybody notice how AI in captain mode tend to get an extreme amount of headshots with their muskets?
  3. Multiplayer balance - horse archers

I still think this game needs more units with shields.

At least in MP, getting killed when besieging a castle because you can't do anything but run and hope you don't get a bullet to the face isn't nice. To not reduce the guns to useless, make wooden shields that break because of bullets in 3 to 5 shots (simulating chunks flying off at every shot) and very heavy / expensive steel shields to counter that, if you can afford them.

Edit:  I forgot the primairy point of this thread. I love beeing an horse archer, and if you tell me it doesn't take skill to hit a man in the face at 60+ meters while running and turning on a horse at full speed, then I don't know what is. Especially seeing there's about 5 people with muskets at all times shooting at you.

Except maybe melee combat which is always tricky.
  4. F&S Bugs Thus far

I don't think I've seen this exact problem yet, and I'm pretty sure it's a bug seeing as I didn't have this in warband, whenever you do a quest and you have to look for (for example, Carl Gustaf). I ask one of the Swedish vassals where he is, and the answer is this:

"He is on his way, and is close to #city here# at the moment."
Now, this wouldn't be a problem if the person in question was close by, but him being at the other side of the world means I have to go there first, which means he has gone somewhere else already seeing as he was "on his way".  The biggest problem is when this is deep in enemy territory making it hard to find another vassal to ask his CURRENT location.

My point is, in the past you used to see "He is on his way TO %city here%, and is close to #city here# at the moment."

This way, you at least have a idea of the general direction he is going thus you can catch up to him.
I'm pretty sure this used to be in warband, and I wouldn't know why it has been taken out  :???: It makes quests so much more (unnecessarily) disturbing to do that I hardly do them at the moment.
  5. With Fire & Sword release information

Steam says it unlocks in one day, two hours. That would be 19:00 on the third of may.
(I'm living in the GMT +1 timezone)

I have a vacation this week, so can't wait to freak this game when its out .
  6. Next Taleworlds project?

    phoenixguard09 说:
I'd like an update to the AI. Definately, but always hard to do afaik

For the SP, I wouldn't like it if M&B became yet another fantasy RPG.  Yes, no orc's, goblin's, or troll's please. Close to history, the better. I'd rather have it historically accurate then have better lore though. For the multiplayer, the main problem with these people is they just completely break the immersion this game CAN bring. Don't worry though, soon, you'll just blast them with a cannon and it'll be all over.
Oh and a minor point.  Have village/town improvements actually appear in the scenes.  And for that matter, I'd like more of them.
At least more improvements, yes. I was so surprised when I first saw how little there could actually be done (not to mention the prices oh lord!(I tend to be close to broke a lot of times, having just enough for my troops and food )
Just a random quote cause I agreed with most what he said, and most of which should be viable. Except maybe the AI part, but improvements are always possible!

Also, I had this idea in my head quite some time, now MMOrpg can't work, at least, that's what everyone says, and I actually do believe that, it would be a very huge project. However, how about 2 player Co-op?

This would be the single player experience, with a friend.  He could rush to your aid when you are in a fight, or attack the castle while you just lured out 4 lords that were garrisoned in there.
People could practically just use their single player save game, maybe do a check if the character hasn't been exported, for all fairness. I mean, you do have 2 humans in the game now.
The save game of the host would be used, and all fiefs held by player 1 and 2 (fiefs that overlap (is that an English word?) would probably be held by player 1)

Now, an important thing that would need to be done, is make the world (world map, and all the units) move, even while you are in towns / combat. Except maybe when you are both in combat, then it's not necessary.

This really needs alot of thought, and I have it worked out some more but this is starting to be a wall of tekst so i'm stopping here. I'd like to know if anyone likes this idea and think if it would be somewhat possible?
  7. When is With Fire and Sword Coming out??????

Oh. For me, a damn shame.
For the game it's only better I guess, also, it's already almost Q2!

  8. When is With Fire and Sword Coming out??????

Yeah, I know how you feel, I used to check every day.
It's frustrating to see it changing from "Spring 2011!" (and waiting eagerly for spring) to Q1!

To be honest though, the best thing you can do, is fill your mind with something else, (I suggest anything BUT warband / m&b, this gets you hyped too much for fire and sword again ) and check in maybe every week or so. I do recall there was a newsletter to write in, yet i'm not sure especially as I can't seem to find it anymore. This way you don't have to worry about missing the release either

I do suppose taleworlds know's best, at least more then the reviewers, and in 10 days a lot of polish and fine tuning can be done (where I presume they are by now). I guess we can only hope for the best
  9. Recruiting followers from other sources.

I was also thinking a while already about a system to hire outcasts (everything from looters to mountain bandits ect) to sortof make your own army, loose from all factions.
Then you can truly be king with your own army (albeit a ****ty one )

    And this:

    Simo 说:
It would be nice to be able to rectruit deserters when you are rebelling against a faction since you're sort of deserting yourself too. I also like the rest of your ideas too.

Seemed a good solution to the deserter problem, and if you're not really against the faction, the persuasion skill might come into play.
  10. Expansion of Tournaments

    DamienZharkoff 说:
As I said... I'd like to see region specific tourneys. For example... Nords would have ALOT of hectic fights and give all melee, rarely mounts (6 vs 6 vs 6 for example) While khergits would have more archery and horseback archer tourneys.

This would also be good, maybe better change, as it will be more predictable. As someone else said, I'm don't want it easier, of course I try to get ways to win with a bow, and I'm getting there, slowly. But having it chosen at random just always makes me anxious until I see what weapon I'm wielding in the arena. Like DamienZharkoff said, a bit of predictability of what weapons you'll get would be nice.
  11. Party staff - non-combat edition

    Great idea all-round.

I always thought the idea of specific heroes for specific stuff was hard to maintain (Seeing as alot hated each other at my party )

But I never thought of this solution, hope it gets implemented.
  12. Expansion of Tournaments

Sorry for this (Sort of) bump, but I'm getting quite annoyed by the arena tournaments.

I don't mind the randomness of the fights (One time a 1v1, the other time a 3 v 3 v 3 v 3) This makes it interesting to see what you're up against next.
What I am annoyed by is the random choice of weapons. Let me explain:

I'm often specced as a mounted warrior, be it with a lance or a heavy two hander, I'm effective with everything except for ranged weapons (But I'm getting better at that).
Even on foot I am a sufficient fighter, atleast for long enough untill I can find a horse to quickly mount.

But when I'm at the last one v one battle, for all the prize money (And by then I have often spent all my money, seeing as I do arena fights in the beginning of my games to quickly cash in) I sometimes get a bow and arrows. Now if I were on foot and the enemy too had a bow and arrows, I would've won. But the enemy had a one handed sword and shield.

Seeing as I hardly did anything about my ranged weaponry, my aiming was way off. Combined with the fact that he had a shield, and could just walk up to me to then batter me until I was unconscious, losing all the money, leaving me frustrated, because this happened 3 times in a row already (I was hopping from city to city)

I'm not asking to be able to choose if I get a horse, nor if I can exactly choose my weapon (as from a list or anything)
But at least it would be quite handy to be able to choose ranged / close-quarters because oftenly if you have one, you hardly have the other. (Especially concerning the ranged)

Hope something can be done to put into the final version of the game (Seeing as it's so close now).

    /rant

Oh, and great job on everything else team, loving the game
  13. Introduction/Hello thread

Yeah the troop tree did help, thanks
The hired blades have a chance to be on a horse, atleast thats what it says.
Yesterday when I left Marnid with 30 of my hired blades (To train the lady with crappy stats), I took some farmers with me,
and when I came back and discardedthe farmers and took marnid and the 30 hired blades back they were all back on horses, witch was rather cool to see again.

Maybe when you leave them for a while they "reset" or something.
  14. Introduction/Hello thread

    Hi,
I just bought the game a few days ago (After playing the free version like, a year ago, but was too lazy to put money on my paypal )
Its a great game so far, and I hope to see the future versions of the game.

Quick question (Couldnt really find this in the tutorials on the site): I have like, 30 hired blades and one hero.
Theres a few of the hired blades on foot, witch annoys me as I want an army with only mounted knights, is there a way I can make sure theyre all on horses?
I have 9 horses in my inventory box now, but that didnt really do the trick.
