    Save Net Neutrality

    Serpent Of Eden 说:
America is definitly third world right now.
Sadly parts of America are.  Capitalism at it's finest.  If there isn't any money to be made, life is going to suck very badly in your community/town, as no business of any kind, including Hospitals (which are business in the USA) will want to open up shop anywhere near you.  This is why some parts of the USA are literally like a 3rd World Country.  Some places the average life expediency is about 50-60 years decades below the national average.

The World Health Organization has repeatedly Ranked America's Health and care as pretty bad.  Despite spending more money and resources on our health system than any other country on the planet we still only rank 37th out of all the countries in the world when it comes to quality health care for citizens, and I'm not referring to insurance I mean actually care when in a hospital.  It's pretty bad when people have to fly half way across the world to get surgery as it's too expensive in the USA.  It's VERY bad when you hear how WHO sends Medical teams and volunteer doctors into isolated towns in the Smoky Mountains because our system is a "For" Profit System, no profit, no medical care, leaving very poor communities without any care what so ever in the USA.

It's why it is VERY difficult for me to support the American Conservative movement in the USA.  As well, it's against improving our Medical System, as that would be going after the Medical "Industry" and oh... god for bid.  Everything the Conservative Party in the USA Exist for is nothing but for the Profit of Corporations, and private donors, and nothing more.  Literally, nothing more.  If they're going to cut taxes it's only because they want to remove taxes that effect their "interest."  If they're going to pull regulations, it's only because it effects "Their" interest, not small business, not common citizens.

Goes on and on.  I honestly don't see why any American, unless you're rich would want to support the Republican Party.  Trump pushing the Dakota Pipe line "First' think when he entered office, despite that it was the wrong thing to do, morally WRONG.    Appoints a long time Verizon employee to the FCC, ya that was such a great idea.  It's embarrassing really.

As much as I hate a lot of extreme liberal movements in the USA, it isn't an excuse for VOTING for stupid.  Net Neutrality is just yet another example.  Doesn't matter what the people want.  These MEN care only about the Interest of their "Own."

Honestly makes me wish we could just ban political parties and vote people into office on their own merits with very strict rules, including having to take Polygraph testing.  Elected officials should be public servants, nothing more.

    Star Wars: Battlefront II EA

    Jean-Chrysostôme Bruneteau de Sainte-Suzanne 说:
I don't really give a **** about BFII, but seeing the company that killed Bullfrog come under this kind of fire is excellent. EA went too far and now they've got real government on them - it's about damned time. As someone who works under a government gaming department, I would love to see that level of oversight force itself into the games industry.
I have a personal hatred for EA.

    Dreamworks Interactive
    Maxis
    Westwood
    Pandemic
all studios I loved, all gone.

I easily understand how fans of Mass Effect, Dead Space, and other more recent purges by EA feel completely.

I've not bought an EA game since The Sims 3.  They turned that game into a microtransation monster with day 1 DLC (mini DLC *Coughs*)  I was done with EA after that.  Sure if they added content months if not years later, but the fact that like 50%+ the content was behind a microtransation pay wall when the game first launched, I was very mad.

    Games you wish existed

    Yes! Also with Turán tanks!

*Shrugs* could always have DLC that adds new provinces/nations.  I forgot to mention the ability buy property as well, buying different social levels of homes, largest having a huge garage to store tanks.  Social level as in social classes, bare minimum is like an apartment so you have a place to call home if you only plan on having just one tank chassis.  Being parts will not weigh anything you'd just have to swap out chassis whenever you want but for collectors who want to display vehicles, having a middle class or upper class home with say an underground garage to make your own personal tank museum would be great.  Would also allow you to make presets, ie tanks fully built/customized/equipped in storage so you don't have to go through the process of changing up parts when you want to go hunt a boss after finding it with a light tank.  So find it with your fast scout, return home, pick up your IS-2 or Tiger Ausf B and go back to stamp it. =D
  5. Coraline

    Games you wish existed

A Tank / WWII Themed Action Focused Adventure Game with a Cartoonie anime art style.

Game would focus around being a semi open world adventure game revolving around using tanks.  Major cities/locations will be based off historical factions from WWII.  Players can buy/purchase uniforms, new tank chassis, upgrade/customize (ie pimp their tank).  They can use their tank to hunt bandits, fight giant bosses that can be as huge as a land battleship.  Players can rely on heavy armor/fire power of mobility and avoid battles all together, as you search and explore the world.  You can find companions, and you can have up to 3 companions at any time.  Companions are required for operating larger tanks.

For example:  I imagine the start of the game would revolve around the player character (one you yourself get to create) he/she becomes a scavenger and his/her adventure starts when you're using a metal detector on an old battlefield (from the last war which happened not that long ago) upon which you discover a light tank (either a M4 Stuart or PzII counting on your character creation choices, ie you get to fill out some background history)  From there you get a quest to dig it up, repair it, and get yourself your first tank, then your real adventure starts. =D

The game would incorporate every major country from the war, every city/province in the game representing one of them.  Players can buy clothing that fit that culture/ethnicity, uniforms, infantry weapons (for segments of the game you fight indoors), and tank parts/chassis.  So users can have a wide range of customization options for themselves and their companions.  Tank Chassis come with turret slots that are restricted to L/M/H turrets, ie you can't put a heavy turret on a light tank but you can put a Stuart Turret on a PzII, or a BT-7 chassis, guns will be restricted in the same fashion.  The game would also have unique parts hidden throughout the game.  Like a PzII Ausf H open top turret, as well as an M8 Open top for the Stuart so you can mount larger guns on light tanks as a special reward turret.  etc.

Combat would be based on Damage and Defense.  Tanks guns will either rely on pure damage like a 105mm through 152mm howitzers, or defense penetration in conjunction with natural damage.  A tanks defense will be modular based on the side you hit the vehicle in combat, or the boss.  Some bosses win the game will have so much defense that you will only ever be able to defeat them with the most powerful howitzers or anti tank guns.  And that is where the adventure aspect of the game comes in.  It isn't story focused, but your adventure.  Similar to say Mount & Blade you kind of decide where to go, when and do whatever you really wish.  There would be some story but it effects the world more than you, changes things up through events, and even gives you an option to side with the bad guys in a final grand battle between an alliance of all the city states and this world conquest bandit faction.    Tank types would mostly go like this.  Light Tanks Rely on Low Health, Speed, and Low Fuel consumption, ie they're best for exploring, not exactly fighting, avoiding battles.  Medium Tanks are an in between they're mobile but have okay armor and fire power, larger medium tanks are almost heavy tanks but hard to get, but not mobile enough to outrun other light tank MOBs, so they can't avoid all fights but vs the biggest most bad ass enemies.  Heavy Tanks, need I say more.  Counting on the chassis they're the least mobile vehicles in the game, but provide enough Defense that a lot of weaker mobs that would cause your starter light tank a headach to be more of an annoyance than a  threat.  Heavy Tanks have the Armor and Firepower when upgraded (ie best turrets/guns/equipment) can take on pretty much any enemy in the game without worrying of dodging fire.  But they're expensive, consume fuel (you have to pay for fuel but they also get larger fuel tanks so).  etc etc.

Though that's a dream.  Closest example I can think of would be like crossing Metal Saga with Steambot Chronicles, but removing the JRPG focused story and have it more like a CRPG but with beautiful cartoonie visuals so the game will be insured to run gloriously for those action packed fights.  The cartoon style I imagine would be more like Japanese films rather than anime cartoon shows, something like In this Corner of the World, Akira or any Ghibli film really.

Sadly, I know something like it will never exist, too ambitious.

    Valkyria Chronicles

    1.  Ez is painted on the Helmets of many of the Generic squad men during the trailer.  Leads to believe the Squad will be called Easy Company.
    2.  The Tank they present used by the leader of the squad looks like a cross between a French Renault Tank and an American Sherman Tank.  Shares the chassis/turret of a Sherman, while the suspension looks like a cross between a number of Renault models.
    3.  The Hat Worn by the Sniper Pays Homage to the game's original concept art.  Which showed one of the "Beast/Animal" Race characters (replaced by the Darcsens during development) as a sniper wearing a German style infantry cap but with long protruding animal like ears.

    http://www.pcgamer.com/electronic-arts-says-loot-boxes-arent-gambling/

Despite EA's protest, it appears that regulatory interest in the matter is growing: As reported by Nu.nl (via Eurogamer), the Netherlands has also launched its own investigation into whether loot boxes are a form of gambling.

In all honesty they are Gambling though.  They thrive on the same impulse behavior and manipulative reward system that makes slot machines, and electronic gambling machines so successful.

Slot Machines for example, though do not give rewards every time you pull the leaver they're designed to give I think if I recall 70cents on the Dollar spent toward the user of the machine.  Those times they get money back causes them to get greedy and "Try" more to see if they can win, but in turn spend and almost always spend more money than they receive, and this is why Slot Machines are so profitable.  They almost insured a user will get a reward, but the reward is never as much as they spend.  (Unless you're one of those super lucky people.)

Loot Crates operate pretty much on the same principles accept you're insured a reward, but tiny most of the time.  But randomly you will get a larger reward that makes you hyped, if not wanting to spend more to get more bigger rewards, even though most of the time you're rewarded with crap.

ie.  Loot Crates by this definition is exactly like a SLOT MACHINE.  Issue is they get away with it "NOT" being Gambling by rewarding users with "Tiny" rewards not worth even a penny spent most of the time, rather than "None" at all which slot machines pay out much of the time.  In turn so they can CLAIM it isn't Gambling.  But in all actuality it is EXACTLY THAT.  Gambling.

Great Irony.  The origin of Loot Crates comes from Korean MMO's and the Gacha system.  Gacha operate on the very same principles as Loot Crates, and they're a plague even for Free to Play MMO Users, as often companies who implement them into their MMOs often realize if they put most new content into the Gacha people will throw a lot of cash away in hope they will get the Outfit/Hat/Golf Clubs  etc etc etc.  Then often end up getting nothing they wanted at all.  But hey, they're given something so it's obviously not Gambling... *Coughs*

Ya but it isn't perfect.  It has some minor bugs.  Like the world map "character" when on horse looks like stock Mount & Blade instead of Gekokujo.  Among a few other minor things I've noticed.  But oddly that one bugs me more than any other.

That being said... that signature picture is like hypnotic. lol

    Help with Troop Wages?

Troop's over all level dictates their Wage.

So a level 15 Top tier soldier will cost considerably less than a level 25 Top tier soldier.  This is why Fort Troops are so "Cheap."  They have very low top tier levels vs say Samurai or Ashigaru.

That being said, changing such settings could allow the max troops per party in game to explode perhaps, I wouldn't risk it. lol

    Looter 说:
Actually, it is village prosperity that ties into how wealthy a town is, not the other way around. By raiding the nearby villages, you can lower a towns prosperity as less farmer parties bringing in trade goods come in once their villages are burned and traveling parties slaughtered.

Ya but it never has a big enough effect.  Being most income comes from Rents from Caravans and Lord's Armies spending the nights in your town.    It's why Kyoto can make you insanely wealthy being at the very heart of the country, so it sees the most trade, most of which is just stopping by as they travel to other towns.  It is why I often set taxes to very low on the castle towns and villages.  The income from them isn't necessary, as the trade income is through the roof when compared.

If you're using a town like Nagasaki then I would say the actual income from the villages/towns is important to an extent, but it will still be a minority of your income, unless you're in a off week in which trade caravans do not make it to the town.

Lord AI is very random when you start a new game.  Sometimes the world can be filled with very Honorable men, other times, hehe the other way around.

    That being said.

I'd like to report something I found odd in game.

When I selected Culture, I selected the "very" last one on the list, assuming that was the player faction one, I forgot the exact name.  Some of them were using some of the new gear so I'm going to assume that was the right one.

However, I noticed something odd & annoying.  All the "Melee" troops were set automatically as Archers, so my spearmen were having a nice time standing shoulder to shoulder with my skirmishers, actually took me a few battles to notice this.  I checked, and of course, the Samurai and Melee troops in general were all set as 'Archers.'  A quick fix in game by assigning them to Infantry instead of Archers.  But I'd thought I'd mention that.

    YourStepDad 说:
You kind of have a point there.

MB isn't exactly crafted to cater to females, and it never attempts to portray them as highly discriminated against, it even says so in the vanilla introduction "In Calradia, men and women have equal opportunity of success and failure" to make playing a female feasible.

That said, some mods (perhaps even Gekokujo, no clue) have a setting where the player can choose the AI prejudice level towards females, from the default vanilla to "high".

I think only Floris and mods based on it (such as ACOK) have it, but I'm not sure. Would be worth exploring Gekokujo options for it. Might give you something that you want. You can also roleplay a Tomboy with a short haircut who gets the same treatment as all other Ashigaru, and then when you become renowned enough unveil your female endowments to your troops and have them accept you for who you are with even greater fervour.

It would be amazing if Nobility based on gender is completely different.  Example.  If you're a Queen or ruler of your own Faction as a female PC you get almost all the same rights as men when it comes to what you can do and your options.  But if you marry a member of Nobility as a female PC you share all your husband's fiefs, but he owns all the rights, ie you capture a castle you can not claim it yourself but ask your "king" to give it to your husband and have no option to ask it for yourself.  Basically you get a share of your husband's wealth/resources to recruit with, in turn you can train soldiers for your husband's castles, and take soldiers out for your own personal use, etc etc.  Basically if you marry into nobility your success is based on your husband's success and you work to strengthen him to strengthen yourself.

But that would be so different from "Normal" that it would require quite a bit of different coding.  Sense of Race/Religion would be epic as well.  Of course I'm just using Base M&B as example.  Japan would be even more complicated.  Imagine being Dutch or Spanish at that time in Japan.

Now I've gone so far off topic from this "Mod."  So I will be done with this for now. lol

    PPQ_Purple 说:
To be perfectly honest I don't like that idea for two reasons.

Firstly, from a historical/lore standpoint it strikes me as odd. Weren't ashigaru pretty much standardized though? As in issued equipment by the lord to some extent. It's not like they were a 10th century European peasant levy where everyone brought just whatever. In that case I don't see a lord wanting to have a soldier who sticks out. If he wanted a band of mercenaries he would have hired one at the tavern.

And secondly from a gameplay perspective I find the idea of being a generic ashigaru far more fun than being a generic mercenary. I can already be one by hiring several farmers and enlisting via quest and bringing my own gear.

    But to each his own.

Well yes but it isn't lore friendly when playing as a female PC I know for instance being a Samurai or Ashigaru.  Then again this game's gender neutrality really ticks me off entirely.  I do hope Mount & Blade II makes the experience more "unique."  You're not treated barely at all different regards to gender or ethnicity in this game in my opinion, well beyond just Gekokujo.    I can understand it for simplicity sake but for role play sake it sucks.    I like the idea of it being as hard as possible to advance up the ranks in society on this game.  lol

Be happy, It's a lot of fun starting over.  In my opinion anyways.  I'd highly suggest a high charisma character.  Get it so you can get 9 leadership and 9 trade, and then go hunting for a book dealer to use a book to get 10 on each.  It's like a 50% cost reduction in "Troops."  Which is A HUGE blessing I found.  It means you can have larger armies, or better quality troops very early on, and actually be able to afford them.  Downside, as a Character, you will level up slower, as your will be a bit gimped combat wise putting so much early on into charisma.    I found you can always out think and out smart the AI to make up for being a bit gimped combat wise early on.    Being there are plenty of below 9 STR required weapons that are effective, like Naginatas for example, it doesn't actually gimp you too badly on Gekokujo.
thanks for the advice, but that's what i did on the lost save
But anyway,I merged gekonewer and daimyo edition into one new mod with a few more addon feature, i started a new save with it and buffed out all my fighting stats went one woman army. I progressed more than on my last save, which i guess is a blessing since i get to learn a little about modding the game!

You can always edit the module.ini file and change "XP" for player/companions and you can be on your feet in no time if you're really worried about it.    Just make sure it's the one in the "MOD's" Folder.

    "PS" I thought I'd make a suggestion.

It would be interesting if at all possible of course.  To make it so we can play as Farmers and Maidens instead of Ashigaru and Samurai when recruiting into a Lord's Army.  Main reason in my opinion is that you're not a citizen of that Faction, you're not one of the local farmers from a village but a traveler, a sword/spear/bow for hired, not a normal soldier.  Secondly for "Female" Player characters it makes absolutely no sense being even ALLOWED to be an Ashigaru or Samurai in a literal sense.

I think this would be very suitable, if not more practical than the current mercenary system.  Definitely with this "Mods" changes currently making Generic Villager's tech tree more broad and personalized.    By doing this you can add even more branches so players can be a warrior monk, a priestess, a hired Gun, horsemen, spearmen, swordmen etc etc.

    Simple Questions.

    1. Which Army is The Player Faction Army in Morphs?  Assuming the one not linked to a real faction, which I noticed near the bottom.
    2. Why were only a few of the "Neutral" Forts troops edited?  Would be neat to see Tier 3's of all of them, not just 3 of the 6.  Though after looking at the Tier 3's you made, I'm quite excited.  I "also" often edited the neutral fort troops because I found them so under powered that they were semi useless but as cannon fodder, making the value of the "Goods" you can get from Neutral Forts, worth more, considerably more than the troops you'd recruit vs goods.  So it was more logical to grab the goods, sell the goods and recruit proper troops for the cost.  lol
