i have played many mods (over 10+) until i settled on brytenwalda

while that is an awesome game

I echo the comments of others here that POP does a couple of things so well and is a class above other mods

- kick arse bandits and small factions
- overall mid game challenge (i cant speak to the end game cause i havnt got there yet)
- awesome in game detail and immersion

in other mods i would continually re start a new character after the game experience plateaued but with POP I am still experiencing the exitement and challenge over 200+ days into a game

also it is remarkably bug free

many other mods talk the talk but the execution lets them down big time

IMHO it is worth a commercial release

i second this sentiment

awesome new mod with a bunch of new ideas and features....some small bugs but not overwhelming and can be avoided for the time being

compared to the many other ****ty mods this is the gold standard.....

but you have to slam koei for being the biggest cheap arse when u see their continual re hash of the dynasty warriors samurai warriors games......how many of those mofo games can they make....whats next samurai warriors cooking show TV spinoff ....

i am also having a problem with this

after ditching the russians

i have done countless letter delivery quests trying to get an 'in' with the various factions

.....its a real bummer

cant join any other sides (it seems) ..... i think the only thing to do is to hitch myself to a claimant to pus the game forward

you can of course take up with a claimant (although in the end thats not your 'own' faction)

i saw a hard copy of the game in Eb Games (sydney) for $69

but it had a very pretty cover of the flaming horse guy !

at the moment the romans are tougher but fewer in number

i find it almost impossibly hard to beat them in sieges if they have say around 100 decent roman troops (while playing for brigantes - unless a spy poisons the well successfully)

but thats fine - tough is good

some tweaking is OK but i wouldnt change the balance too much (romans are advancing slowly)

i assume like a battle that in the duel your health could be low

therefiore you could be handicapped in the duel

fur that reason and also for fun it would be cool if you could nominate a companion

or maybe 3 v 3....like some pokemon or street fighter battle !

re spys acting as skirmishers to chase and slow down a smaller faster targets (ie on the world map)

i think it would be a good idea to expand on the type of troops who could perform that role (like spys - but not any other role that spys do)

eg. unrights / perhaps some low level pict troops

at least that gives a late game role to those lesser troops

i got them back later and got troops back (which they had caputred the first time)

but they kileld me and 7 companions cavalry charge....

luckiy they then killed themselves charging my remaining troops 5 roman bowmen and 1 hero roman triariai

and then they gave me as loot 12 of those cool noble tunics which look cool

with all the patches and restarts i am becoming an expert at the first 100 days and how to run from superior forces of theows !

in particular i love the tougher fights with deserters...got owned by some gwrdas which wouldnt happen in vanilla brytenwalda
