  1. 1257AD Youtube Series

Nothing against your music tastes, butI do not think that the music in part one adds in any way to the video. It drowns out everything, and just feels like one is listening to random metal while a game is played. Good job just using stock 1257 music in the second vid.

It would be interesting if you played with a microphone, and just occasionally stated what you were thinking, planning, or thought about various situations. You would not need to constantly fill the air with your voice, just enough to let viewers know what your overall plan or vision for your virtual medieval life is.

Good stuff otherwise; I will be using part 2 to explain to an RPG fan about M&B, and 1257 in particular.
  2. Your Favorite Faction

I generally start off in England, and usually end up in the Crusader states. I have also done the same thing while playing a character Holy Roman Empire, but the French constantly burning my estate in Bavaria make me want to return to my home so that I can make the scoundrels pay.

I hope to try lots of factions over time, as they all seem to play quite differently!
  3. Anybody who want the good old 1257AD music, come here.

I too would be most grateful for the link!
  4. The Rules you play by

    - If I sustain an obviously mortal injury (arrow through the eye socket and sticking out the back of the head, for instance) then I just stop playing the character, and consider him dead.
    - I will use non-faction specific kit if I have come by it more or less realistically, such as using kit obtained while crusading after returning home.
    - I will sometimes export, edit, and import characters at the start of a game. I typically edit myself some cash for some armour that suits my characters' role played self-image, and also I up their combat, strength, and agility stats a bit.
    - I try to do no evil...but if ever I do, I find that it is a slippery slope, and my characters that start going bad end up being utterly horrid. Those that stay righteous are pretty good people, and always release captured noble opponents. Oh, those good characters will still burn enemy villages and massacre the occupants if they resist, but chivalry does not extend to the peasantry. Anyway, when I slam my sword on top of a peasant's head, he can go to his grave happy in the knowledge that it was nothing personal.

Me, Archbishop of Jerusalem and my Templar Knights

And here I was, thinking that I was doing pretty well with my muddy, rain-soaked little fort in the windswept southwest of England; my handful of men armed with sharp sticks (plus a Miles and a few freelance Welch archers); and my fortune of 20,000 groats, give or take.

I can see now that I am still very much a medieval insignificancy. Methinks that it is time to take the cross; England is too small for a man of my ambition, although mayhap it is large enow for a man of my paltry skills.
  6. This mod suks!

I would also like to extend my praise.

For me, 1257 AD is Mount & Blade. My compliments to everyone involved; the standard of work involved, from the research to the coding to the artwork has been excellent, and the result thus far has been a tremendously fun mod.
  7. F&S Bugs Thus far

I am noting consistently bad stuttering both in the strategic map, and in the tactical maps in both first person/third person, with any number of troops, and with high and low graphics settings. My system us good, and I run Warband very smoothly at high settings.
  8. Who is buying this game for single player?

I will be buying Fire & Sword for SP play only. Hope the MP crowd has lots of fun, though.
  9. Divided Player base?

One hears the same 'dividing the player base' argument with Bohemia Interactive's ArmA 2 community every time an expansion/DLC is released. As far as I can tell, people tend to upgrade to the next version of the software sooner or later, so from that point of view, it is pretty much a non-issue. Mods, if anything, 'divide the base' far more, as do private servers, clans, exclusive friendships, time zones, language, nationality, and other factors. In other words, no group of players is truly homogeneous for any game, and the factors that divide the community are as often as not outside of the dev's/publisher's control. This is to say nothing of we single-player only types; when it comes to gameplay, we, at any rate, are as divided from the rest of the player base as one can get without actually playing something else.
  10. I really disaprove of the way this is being sold to unsuspecting consumers

First time poster, blah blah blah etc..

I have bought all three games, and all three together have cost me rather less than certain other games that have entertained me rather less. Assuming that Fire & Sword is indeed a high-quality product, I could buy a couple more standalones, and still be well under the cost of the most expensive games on my PC.
