  1. Removing graphical upgrades from the expanded pack?

    Thanks

Sorry about that, should have checked the FAQ, but I thought I was special.
  2. Removing graphical upgrades from the expanded pack?

Hi, just wondering if there if it is possible for me to remove the graphical boost pack from the expanded version of the mod? Basically I really like the expanded mod, pretty much everything about it, but I've realised as the game has gone on and the battles have got larger, that my PC is in...
  3. How difficult would it be for WB or vanilla mods to incorporate WF&S features?

There's a few things that it would be great to see plundered for mods, but the game itself is a bit of a disappointment.
  4. Serious lag issues in multiplayer, even with decent pings.

Played some properly huge multiplayer games with no lag, so my guess is that it's not the game, as everybody on said server seemed pretty happy.
  5. Inconsistent textures

Thanks I'll have a looksee for that.

Edited to add, don't suppose you have a link do you? I'm having a hard time finding it with the search.
  6. Inconsistent textures

Just a quicky question, I really like this mod in general, but I'm getting slightly annoyed by the textures on one of the armours, the Teutonic Mail Surcoat. Thing is (and this is the only one I have encountered so far) they just seem really, really bright. A bunch of my soldiers are wearing...
  7. Alternate download?

    noosers 说:
Delete the failed downloads and clear your browsers cache and retry the the download. It worked well enough  for over 100 000 people so far. Apart from that it´s Saxondragons strict intent to not have any other download sources available but the one at the mbrepostery. He made it clear and mentioned it often enough in the past that the nice counter steadily increasing is what he wants as payment. I assume he gets a warm fuzzy feeling inside everytime he checks the counter

I finally got it to work by using a different PC, then passing it over the network. so from the sounds of it your advice would have worked too. I should have read the thread again sooner I guess.
  8. Download time. - Mbrepository

Hell we're lucky there's the MB Repository to use in the first place. Been trying out some Medieval 2 Total War mods lately and they have to use all sorts of crappy file hosts, which are made even crappier by the size of the mods themselves, usually several gig. There's an awesome looking Warhammer mod that I'm literally never going to get to play because it's massive and on some godawful download site that won't give it up for free. I had some issues with the download not working for PoP on MB Repository, which I fixed by using a different PC to download it (odd, but meh) and to be honest even if you have to leave it overnight it's worth the grab.
  9. Alternate download?

Lo folks, just wondering if there's another place to download the mod from, other than the MB Repository? I've tried about five times and every time it just declares itself to be finished about 200meg through. I've managed to download plenty of other mods from there, some even bigger, so the...
  10. WARBAND ONLY - PoP 3.x WARBAND BUG AND SUPPORT THREAD

Have tried to download the mod twice from M&B Repository link, and both times it has claimed completed at 264meg, which is not complete. Is there an alternate download site or do I need to kill my ISP with bricks?
  11. Include your own troops in the post-battle looting?

Idea is the title basically. If there's been a battle, lots of guys are dead, why should I care whose side they were on when I'm stripping them of armour or weapons for sale? Actually why I should care is that it ought to come at the cost of a -massive- morale hit, massive honour hit, even a...
  12. Selling my soul for a one off win

    I managed it:

I turned the campaign difficulty down (not sure if this had an effect or not) then rode out to meet the enemy army as far away from the city and possible and lured it away. There was some carnage when it met up with a wandering Khergit general, and I left them too it. My city now has a few hundred defenders, my army has swelled to about a hundred good horsemen so I can meet all but the largest forces in the open field, and my newly established kingdom is looking like it might just be able to hold fast for the time being.

Thanks for all the help guys!

It IS possible to break their armies up by running near them, fleeing a bit and repeating this process for a few more times until one or two lords decide to go hot on your heels. I do it often too! This is only good if there is a good distance between their force and your said city though, otherwise your city might have been taken over by the time you're done with a few of them.

Still, defeating a 2400-strong force is no easy task no matter how you do it. I'd really recommend letting them take the city then re-taking it immediately if they do not garrison too many of their troops there. If they do, well, consider your taking of that city untimely. Better luck next time!

I think I might be able to lure some of them off once they settle into the siege. There's a hell of a lot of them though and not a lot to stop them with. They are no slouches either, lot of top end troops out there.

Letting them take the city is not an option. It's mine.

It probably won't work because a campaign of lords is often tightly packed so if you attack one you have to fight everyone but if you fight and defeat the marshall of the campaign (the guy everyone is following) they will give up on the siege.

You can try stacking up your party with the max troop you can hold, They don't have to be the best kinds of troops (thou it is highly adviced) but it will help to even the battle.

When you fight 20 on 100 you start with less guys on your side then when your with 100 against 100.

I'll give this a try, the old cut the head off the snake approach. Better 10 to 1 odds in the field than 20 to 1 behind walls I suppose.

Are the sarr's at war with anyone else if they were i would drop all my troops in the city and all my armour and food so as to be as fast as possible and then lead them to an oppsing army. Difficult but highly effective.

I've tried leading them off, but they won't have it. It's just this single minded stream of troops. They don't even actually attack me if I ride into them. They want the city and that's it.
  16. Selling my soul for a one off win

Okay so here's the situation, I'm playing the OSPW mod- Native version (not that I imagine this makes too much difference, it's based heavily on native) and I'm in a bind. Basically I've just taken a city, I lost a lot of guys to capture it, it's my first city, ever in the game, I have no other...
  17. Mod won't start

I had the getting killed after the thief thing. Twice, once when I won, once when I lost. Hmm.
  18. The worst faction?

Rhodoks are the worst. Lets see:

    Get rammed by swad cavalry.
Get shot to the death by khergits and then rammed by cavalry
    Get slaughtered by nord huskarls.
    Get anihilated by vaegir cavalry.

Rhodoks = only good to be pillaged and enslaved.

    you kidding me?
Rhodoks kick arse, you just need to employ tactics.  they arent great individual fighters-  but they kick arse in group combat.

There's the thing though, as a faction, in that bizarre state of nature that occurs with the AI pulling the strings, they are useless. In my game playing as a Rhodok vassal the number of times I've just seen my fellow lords stream troops into a fight like lemmings is, well, it's pretty much every time. The only time I've seen the AI use a Rhodok army as the solid spear line backed up with crossbows was, tragically, when I was fighting against a defector, and that was ferocious. But for all the ferocity there's no doubt they are the lesser of the infantry based armies. The Nords by comparison match the Rhodoks in everything they do with the added bonus that they are better individual fighters and they also mostly carry thrown weapons. The Rhodok spear line is great against horses, no doubt about it, but there's also a lot to be said for the Nord hail of throwing spears and axes as a cavalry charge stopper too.

For the TL:grin:R crowd, Rhodoks are low-budget Nords.
  19. NEED HELP WITH REBELLION

Would just like to say that I am disappointed that, given the title of this thread, the poster was not Princess Leia.

Just to echo what others have said, you've got to build relation with the people you're kicking the crap out of (not easily done) and you can only ask every so often. I found when I rebelled the first time that there were some Lords I just didn't want too, some of them will change sides at the drop of a hat, others seem to be unsettled unless you give them loads of land, others are just plain evil and don't play nice with others. It's kind of like Football Manager at times except the football is a severed head.
  20. The worst faction?

I've not started a new game in a while, so I suspect my troop lists may be out of date, but I'm thinking Rhodoks are the worst as a faction. Their top end units are great, but the units to get to them have a killer flaw, which is they don't kill enough people. Sure it's great to win a battle and see that you've got maybe half the enemy army as prisoners, but in terms of the campaign the fact that so many opponents live to fight another day is a bit of a shocker.
