I attempted to install this into my diplomacy mod and got the same grass meshes problem he did.

"unable to open file: modules\diplomacy\resource\grass_meshes.brf"

if dual wielding comes to mount and blade, I will sadly not be taking part in the next iteration

I'd really like to see more questlines, more storytelling in general. questlines give the opportunity for more unique battle scene set ups. more talking options, stuff to better get to know nobles/factions. having to remember a personality type from 2-3 sentences they say after a battle is tough.

i'd like to see pretty much the diplomacy mod put into the core of the game, more task delegation in general.

There seems to be a lot of problems with it when you Google Steam offline mode actually.

Bottom line is, if you like the features that Steam has, go for it. If you're on the fence about it, Steam is a program that can potentially go wrong and stop you from playing the game, so if the mandatory client doesn't do anything for you, it's best to avoid it since it's another link in the chain that can break.

you can play whatever patch you wish. offline mode works perfectly. there is an options tab, it helps set up the way you want steam to work with your games.. they do no voodoo or otherwise dark magic to your pc, just offer games at low prices. steam being down is not frequent, and if it ever is, it is not for a long period of time.

I didn't realize there was so much hate for steam in the taleworlds area at least -_o steam has been amazing for taleworlds I imagine, putting mount and blade on the front page with great deals quite frequently. a lot of the steam hate i believe comes from when it was a new program, its entirely evolved since then into a generous beast. my friends wouldn't have touched mount and blade, if they didn't see it on steam.

I frankly don't understand the claim that they only offer them to rent. it puzzles me. I own over 50 games through steam. they are mine. i can install or uninstall them whenever I like, and I can play offline or online with any of them. heck, you can even run it in ghost mode so nobody knows you are playing it. This aversion to it seems like old grandpa's waving their canes at "that dang new-fangled technology!" steam isn't going to "get" you. it's here to help. (and make insanely high profit margins while still offering products cheaper than anyone else on the market)

yea, and I'd bet money that it will go on sale again in the next two-three weeks for that or lower, thanks to their after xmas sale and their current treasure hunt sale.

you should really reconsider steam. It's a Friend to the PC gamer with little money, and not a bad digital system at all. you don't need to use the chat system, but abuse the store, its one of the best markets we have available.
