Would be nice to have that pylos helmet with the wreath design embedded onto it.

Though funny enough I've seen some depictions where instead of it being embedded as a design its an actual wreath worn on the helmet.

Not every image in the research threads are pinpoint accurate to Rome at War's timeline, I posted that image since that is one of the few images showing off their training regimen and the background elements could be used for a scene.

Also I can confirm that your suspicions are correct about it being Imperial Rome as the guy falling off the horse is wearing Lorica Segmentata (Seek's favorite armour :fruity:) and the training shield is square shaped instead of ovular.

  Hahahah, I guess they were tired of being non-citizens and often, slaves.  Or, they were trying to win freedom by meritocracy, which happened a few times when their dwindling population (due to probably stringent laws about immigration and citizenship) needed men desperately and offered freedom to those who would partake in upcoming battles only to have those Messenians and helots kick major ass, embarrassing the Spartans.
Would be interesting to see a population based recruitment system that can replicate the 3/4 to 1 helot to homoioi issue that plagued them.

Maybe throw in a chance of a helot revolt. :fruity:

That was the case for awhile, since I recall the Etruscans didn't have the Etrusci pila in their multiplayer item pool since their inclusion in the 2.5 update yet they were in the hands of other factions. :ohdear:

Hopefully it will be rectified by the next patch.

I'm certain this isn't the fault of anyone on the RaW team; I imagine this scripting was probably created by someone else, but has anyone noticed that 'Skirmish' is a bit of a hit and miss at times?    I tried it a few times and at first it worked flawlessly, but at times they seem to try to avoid the enemy by smashing right into them, in hilarious fashion. https://vid.me/uEHVo
Well considering they're psiloi from Lakonike they might've considered retreating to a better position as cowardice and decided to fight to the death. :shifty:

I don't know why you feel such hostility towards me (be it the chocolate comment or natural dislike towards others) to constantly be at my neck with these derisive comments. The professional comment was referring to how I was presenting my argument towards you. I by no means claim to be know it all History professional and gladly admit I was mistaken when identifying the helmet as just a Corinthian helmet, but I wanted to explain how I got to the conclusion of why I thought it was a Corinthian helmet. That being said, I wish we could've discussed this in a more civil manner free of veiled name calling and no you dummy that's not right sort of rebuttals.

When I look back as to how this whole pointless argument started, it could've been avoided if you just stated what helmet it was, as well as additional information rather than just,

I'm trying to explain to you why I thought it was a Corinthian helmet, which it technically is, and while doing so being professional as I could about it.

I won't stoop down to insulting you, but I will say that I think its better to discontinue this argument and let a better topic take course in this research thread.

Well, how a big difference do you consider the fact that the corinthian helmet covers you the whole head (face included) and the apulo no?

Judging from this sentence you believe the Corinthian helmet was worn only on your face, and it explains your previous post. From what I've seen the Apulo-Corinthian helmet wasn't the only one worn in that position.

"Out of combat, a Greek hoplite would wear the [Corinthian] helmet tipped upward for comfort. This practice gave rise to a series of variant forms in Italy, where the slits were almost closed, since the helmet was no longer pulled over the face but worn cap-like."
