  1. The tipes of damage a sword does and "small damage&quot

I'm sorry but i'm just gonna say some little things...
1- To Madhatter: wrong time dude =D You are talking about the Renaissance where they used rapiers(pointy nasty wep  ) and other similar weapons, they could actually touch the blade because it was really not sharp as a longsword since it was only meant to pierce thru the opponent's chest(they were used by nobles since rapiers are very elegant weapons) to inflict mortal wounds(if i'm not mistaken that's where the first firearms were invented).Oh and... seriously who would risk benting an expensive sword to hit the enemy with the pommel? Just punch him.
2-Same as above: Plate armors(and the usual chain underneath) WERE MEANT TO STOP SLASH ATTACKS(and really worked). The only chance to kill an armored foe with a sword(in that time the most used was the long sword which is one handed) was thrusting and praying.
3-to Praetorian: Agreed, swords SHOULD bounce when hitting fully armored ppl as it did in RL but... I also think that it would be REALLY annoying to buy that cool looking sword with all your money just to know that using a crappy club would work better(maces were real killers against armored ppl, one hit could break bones easily).
4-SAA: No way in hell a human could cut thru plates, sorry but that's impossible. Unless you are using an ax and hit at full strenght(if not you would do one helluva blundgeoning damage =P) you could tear him apart.Limbs off! =D

I guess if i wore a full plate, the only thing i would feel when hit by a stone would be: YOU MOTHER %@#$%@# @#$%@#$@$%! I'M GONNA BREAK EVERY BONE IN YOUR BODY AND (as in Sin City ,Marv style) WHEN I'M DONE THE HELL YOU'RE GOING WILL LOOK LIKE HEAVEN .
  2. Extinction of Inventory Management skill...

Then i know i'm not the only one who wants to do things gothic-style =P
Well, if we can be priest/fighter why not smith/fighter?
What the hell, i wanna craft something with my own name in it!
  3. Archer's Movement!

Maybe our characters had some kind of ninja training so they never trip on things or other kinds of accidents. I guess we just can't drink that ale we buy because we all are Shaolin monks with full kung fu training
    Maybe not ;)
  4. morale

PS = Post scriptum(when you write something after you finish a letter , or in my case a post)

Let's hope that if we keep bugging the devs about that in the forum they will implement this feature =D
  5. decrease quality at high distances

    ?!?!?!?!?
    Why reducing poly?
You could simply put low detailed textures at long distance to reduce the graphic card's job(and is realistic too, from far away the human eye can't distinguish things clearly).
Reducing poly would make the ppl move kinda wierd when zooming in...
Well, that's just my guess. =D

  6. Archer's Movement!

    Oh!
Strafing and poking the archers with those pointy wooden greatswords or stealing horses also work like hell!
Oh! Stop the excessive comments Praetorians
Were you abducted by those so called in-game peasants?
    Tournment is too easy/boring =D
  7. game not fun afteter level 10

If you're bored, you can come and flood/bump in the forum like Praetorian does!
oh! And BTW Praetorian, where r you from?
If killing lotsa ppl in M&B bore you then i'm sorry for you =P
Go kill some innocent ppl with that Attackeable Peasants Mod or something else, wait for the blood&gore update so you can try all kind of evil cruel ways to kill =D
That maybe will entertain you for a little longer time ;)
    Cya's
  8. morale

I agree 147% the idea of morale and fatigue in the game.
About morale i guess having a veteran by your side also would boost th e morale of soldiers... Like counting the number battles of heroes as a morale factor(battles he won of course =P), it's always good to know that there are 38 knights guarding you =D
Vlad Tepesh, the impaler, mostly known as Dracula(or Count Dracul, dunno)? Cool story his one. One hell of a legend around that creeeeepy creeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepy guy =D
Back to the topic's main subject, fatigue would be associated to the campsite idea repeated over and over on this forum =D
    Cya
PS: When a leader fights in the front ,soldiers get a morale boost too =)
PS2: When a leader stay and fight fiercely ,even when things look like a total massacre, troops may come back into battle(mind the battle of Thermopylae, i guess i just can't remember the exact name but if you look at a book it's close to the actual name :) ).
  9. Archer's Movement!

I'm gonna say something really dumb, yet wise. ARROWS CAN'T CHANGE DIRECTION WHILE IN FLIGHT(there are no homing beacons on my regular ones at least  ).
Run at them and when they ready their bow you just stop and wait till he shoots THEN you dodge and continue charging(i prefer waiting for him to shoot than keep running at them because it makes easier seeing the arrow) =)
I saved my skin hundreds of times in the tournment by doing this =D
Just try it a little then come back to tell me how it worked =)
About the realism i agree they shouldn't be able to run backwards holding the string but it is possible to run foward while pulling the string (with it ready, running is just plain stupidity  ).
    OOOOOOOOOOOOkay!
    Cya
  10. I have an idea to prevent excessive repeated topics!!! =D

I was reading oKiN's Frequent suggestions and links topic and had an idea. Why don't you guys make stickys about already thought ideas like : "Sticky: About Firearms in M&B" or "Sticky: About dual wielding weapons"... It'd make it easier to ppl to notice what other ppl suggested and would...
  11. Extinction of Inventory Management skill...

Hey powerg8 , the smiths sell things to us, why can't we rent their anvil, forge and stuff a little?
Hunting would be cool too( Yay, we could act as real noblemen unless you are talking about head hunting :P ) but most RPG fans are prolly craving for some laboring skills as we are used to make our own overpower equip after hours and hours of macroing or training...
And answering to your last question i'd say: "Lame RP addicts like me :D " but as you are asking about it really i guess most of the best smiths were also fighters(at least in their young days) that knew how things worked in real battle and that's why things like sword evolved from a huge butcher cleaver(ancient bronze swords) into an elegant and deadly long sword(ok ok and a little help from new technologies like steel and stuff).
  12. Extinction of Inventory Management skill...

Okay... Maybe some ppl will hate me or just ignore me but this skill is a little out of reality... I think it could be changed to something like pack donkeys or something like it... Wanna more space ? Buy more pack donkeys... NO MATTER HOW GOOD YOU ARE YOU JUST CAN´T STICK 28 FULL PLATES IN THAT...
  13. game not fun afteter level 10

Wanna more challenge? Fight a war party by yourself, if you can beat 49+ soldiers without help then you'll be good enough to say that the game is easy but killing mountain/forest bandits and dark hunters isn't a challenge even for me =P
But yet i have fun trying new weaponry on the enemy( poking the enemies eyes with military forks or bashing them with a maul is lotsa fun) =D
    Adios!
  14. Battle Loot

    Just make like :
1- some looted items got damaged (broken prefix meaning they would be less worthy).
2- they were treated as stolen things that the only ppl who would buy them would pay veeeeeeeeeeeeeeery little.(That would encourage ppl to get only the items they would use or trade for some food :) )
3- your men stole the equips for themselves  (Those greedy b*stards)
4- you are such a fag that the only things you can touch were not stained by some innocent refugee's blood! (Plz no harm intended =P )
5- You are just too lazy or tired after the battle to scavenger for some gear between the dead bodies :D
Okay! That was my ideas to avoid the "I got nuff money to buy this freaking Calradia TWICE!" and still be able to get all the equip of enemies.
    Ciao!
  15. Troop Formations!

    Let me say some things...
    pkt-zer0 said:
I think formations would not matter that much
Just ask your soldiers if they like being mobbed by hundreds of soldiers instead of fighting in formation and lessen the power of numbers while battling near narrow places=)

    pkt-zer0 said:
This game needs a bit of team AI, so that the units don't only think as individuals.
    Agreed 120% =)

    pkt-zer0 said:
implementing unit groups might actually be useful.

GREAT IDEA DUDE! That would make commanding 1000000 times easier, and it would make formations work too! hehehehehe Ok ok i know i'm just being selfish

    Slyloki said:
I have to side with the 'formations are out of place' mob here...

    That's your loss

    Slyloki said:
Battles of this time period were quite a chaotic affair once the battle had started...
    DUUUUUUUUUUH! ALL battles are =)
Or you never watched a documentary or something like it about wars?
Battles ALWAYS were chaotic, messy and gory! From ancient times till today... Mind friendly fire dude! If battles were not chaotic noone would be hit by friendly fire... But that's no reason to say formations didn't exist... For Something's sake dude... I guess ppl here really can't differ the times called dark ages( early medieval times by the eyes of old historians) and the middle ages(how modern historians call the same early medieval times but with more knowledge and consideration that things were not as confused as ppl used to think). They were not a bunch of dummies fighting like savages without the slighest tactics, only thinking "I'm gonna rip off your head!"... If someone said to a group of ppl : "Form up a straight line!" ,they'd UNDERSTAND! Most ppl couldn't read or write, (ok! that's true) but it doesn't mean they were retards...
Just shout your troops form a square stand shoulder to shoulder and maybe, just maybe they will not be slaughtered like pigs!

Oh! I think my idea would be easier to do... for yours, soldiers AI would have to be extremely good so they would even be able to recognize the ground and find a good spot, and i have looked around in some dumb robot programation games(like MindRover) and i guess it'd be a hell of a job to the devs... Correct if i'm wrong but they made their engines from the scratches... It'd mean a lot of working in AI...

Well, i guess i said all i needed or remembered to say =P
    Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay
    Cya
  16. Troop Formations!

Probably you two got me wrong...
I was asking for simple formations like lines, rectangles, circles and triangles... Those simple formations were always used from Greek Hoplites ,Saracen Cavalry charges and even Alexander the Great used...
Those are not fancy formations for specific battles, they were used generally in most battles. The formations depended more on the commanders than on the soldiers... I would guess it would give some meaning to tactics skill if it enabled new formations( who cares about advantage points anyways =P ).
I guess poorly organized troops were due to poor experienced or trained commanders who ignored the great advantages of formations in combat.
The battles were mostly disorganized because most knights were nobles and were taught how to fight but not how to command... They were just warriors ... Many mercenary units were "unbeateable" because their leader had experience in battles and knew how useful men could be arranged to achieve certain purposes.
In Europe, horses were too expensive ,that's why mostly knights used them. Most battles had a handful of horseman, and bunches of footmen and archers. Battles were brutal and caotic, in the heat of battle noone could differ friend from foe, they only kept bashing what was ahead, THAT was the reason of the simple formations.
Well, i think i said enough.
Good tactics = more knowledge = more formations or acess to formations!
    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOkay!
PS: I think i told but i would like this AFTER the better troops AI update so horsemen or any kind of fighters in the way would not be a problem =D
  17. twin swords?

    Yo Ashram...
You seem to forget some things about the game...
1- The peasants are not "warfaring" groups... They are working in the fields outside the cities ( That's why they move, stop, move, stop so on) not looking for bad guys to kill... That's why they would defend themselves using pitchforks or Sickles... That also speaks about women... They worked too in middle ages as peasants and if someone tried to get women into fighting( churches were against it and don't forget that medieval men thought lowly of women) they would as much as man did.
2- About the Black armor i never checked about it but i think they have the same protection as plate armors( at least the helm compared to the great helm). It looks like a Gothic armor plate to me( at least the ones i saw looked like it).
3- My point was not that the longswords( and i mean longswords, bastard swords ,broadswords, at least occidental ones) were heavy like elephants but that it would be too ankward to use 2 of them. Falchions ,IMHO ,would be a little bit too uneffective since it has a shorter range and that means you should get a shield or it would be suicidal. But if you plan on getting knocked out many times be my guest(other , as you said, lighter weapons like sabers would be nice to have dual wielding since they would keep a good range and double damage w/o being ankward to use) =P
Using real names would be unethical, since there are some people that are too stupid to realize game devs aren't making war propaganda or something like this( promoting hatred between peoples for instance)... They reaaaaaaaally tried to make the game realistic without making it boring... He kept some RP stats in order to keep it more balanced( or there would be the so called tanks that infests most of the RPGs i ever played)...
Dude sry about the harsh start in my other post but you know i wasn't insulting you... Just trash-talking
    OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOkay
    Cya
  18. Troop Formations!

It would be cool to make the archers shoot the enemy when in range instead of just charging them in the first sight even if you keep screaming HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLD!
    Lol
Just waiting for the troop orders upgrade to see if this kind of event stop happening =D
  19. Renaissance weapons pack

About firearms i just say some things about early firearms: inacurrate, loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong reload time, couldn't fire moving( would never hit a thing) and the kickback( it was really a brutal weapon), apart of that it was pretty strong and pierced thru armor easily( at least if you hit the enemy hehehehehe)
But about the other weps... Keep up the good job dude!
I would loooooooooooooove a ball and chain morning star but that's just me
    Cya!
  20. Magic for the masses

oH... Great idea making a magic mod for M&B. I hope you don't get the idea of good vs evil( that is just plaaaaaaaaain dumb). Noone is 100% good or 100% evil! Magic should be more like a tool to a certain goal than some kind of unstoppable power. If you make like that Blood ,Death( no madmen and murderer only cult, maybe they think killing ppl is not wrong and that does not make them murderers or madmen, just diferent philosophies than our ocidental way of life) and Life( i liked that one most because they do not show good or bad sides, they just wanna prevent deaths no matter who is being saved), it'll be something really original, everyone thinks of simple elemental magic as in fire is evil, water is good/ wind is evil, earth is good based on human traits like loyalty, rage, kindness and honesty(wind is trickery for example).
I'll love to see manipulation magic( Life magic would be most likely to knock down than kill), take a look at a game called Savage: battle for newerth and see the beasts weapons, that would give you some kind of idea. Something i would like reaaaaaaaaaally much would be something like illusion and stuff, would be soooooooooo cool. Where are the magicians? Magics like taking a bunny from your helm or sawing a peasant in half would be really useful( jking)
No more blabbering from me =X
