  2. unit upgrade trees for 0.731

Have the upgrade trees been changed since the 0.703 tree here http://forums.taleworlds.com/viewtopic.php?t=5151&highlight=0+703+tree I've been playing Storymod and noticed a huge number of new branches for the farmer troops - is this from the mod or the native game? GA
  3. Where is the merchant?

what i am saying though, is with this faulty quest in my log, no other merchant will offer me a quest, so i would prefer to somehow edit it out rather then have to restart...
  4. Kidnapped girl not going home 0.7111

Does anyone know how to edit the savegame to remove a broken 'escort the caravan' or similar? It sucks not being able to do merchant quests - I am so poor because the nobility give me quests like 'deliver a message for 10 gold' or 'track down 5 random pieces of equipment that can't be found anywhere' or 'hunt down raiders' who tend to kill a few of my good troops - even donating 5 of my knights to the cause is a bit much.

so any ideas how to edit this quest out of my save game? if not, what's the cheat code to see the entire map? maybe i can find the caravan this way.

    cheers,
    GA

  6. What's the story with...

    a) the story line? i just started playing again having stopped around v3.2, i upgraded to the most recent version and at the M&B homepage it says this about the storyline "An absorbing storyline featuring vivid characters adds to the excitement of the game. Natural dialogues and intuitive...
  7. Does it worry you?

Yes, it seems like a group of 5 guys with leather armour, sumpter horses and sickles aren't going to be very good against even a medium sized group of river pirates.

I have been given the sickle quest but can't find any... there's plenty of scythes though, aren't they the same thing?
  8. Merchant Inventory

right, but you get slightly more money for salt in zendar, must be super-rare (even though its pretty close to the sea). You'd think a salt refinery would be close to an ocean, not a mountain - strange geology going on in these parts i guess.
  9. Merchant Inventory

Having completed a salt run on the first day of my game, when I got back to Zendar with my precious salt, I couldn't even sell all of it to the merchant, because I filled her inventory. You'd think she'd be able to put it down somewhere secure in that huge building she lives in...
  10. (0.623) I broke my Marnid.

Marnid and Borcha will do that in battle if you've equipped them with a weapon that they can't use - like a bow which they are not strong enough for. Try giving Marnid something that he can use, based on his weapon stats.
  11. Ideas from Heroes of Might and Magic (without the fantasy)

In the Heroes of Might and Magic series you just have one view inside a town, but you can click on each building to see what they provide. it makes it more interesting than the list screen. Each town has buildings which produce a certain unit per week, maybe it would be cool to be able to...
  12. Some flexibility in these quests?

You have the flexibility to go for the spirited or swaybacked sumpter horses, that kind of thing.

But it is pretty annoying having to do a quest like that, carry up to 10 horses around as you go from town to town. with a quest like that, i'd rather not do it. but once you ask a noble for a quest, you have to do exactly what he says, there's no opportunity to turn it down. it would be nice if you could, especially if you are low level with no army, it's pretty hard to capture the enemy noble man or to track down the raiders...
  13. (v. 0.623) Veagir Knights don't have horses

right, what i was kind of hoping for was the possibility of getting my pre-0.623 game fixed up without having to start again... took me a long time to get up to level 16 with my 15 knights, 8 horsemen etc
  14. Fatigue and Property

sure, but back in the days of maintaining a huge army marching over the land, there was a little more to the food than having a commander carrying 50 units of beef.

something could be done like having some units that you don't see and who don't fight like a cook or whatever who takes care of the food (of course, you can hire them, capture the cook from an enemy army etc... the have that type of business in Pirates!)

and if there was some overall fatigue indicator that represents the general state of the whole army (a good commander should know that)
then you can set up camp at night and rest when the group needs to.

of course, you can then attack enemys at night who are resting and have a advantage, and need to worry about sentries and the like)
  15. (v. 0.623) Veagir Knights don't have horses

I know that this problem is mentioned else where but it would really be nice if my veagir knights WERE on horses. I assume that it's because i started playing on v 0.622 and then upgraded. there was a bug in 0.622? well, the fix in 0.623 doesn't seem to have helped my knights at all... So...
  16. Fatigue and Property

The game would be a lot more realistic if you had an idicator which showed how exhausted you were. This was on Daggerfall and Morrowind and you would pretty much pass out if you became totally fatigued. It's not so realistic if you can march your party around day and night and have battle...
  17. Storage/garrison

I've been leaving Mandrid (is that his name? the guy who's not Borcha) at Zendar with the troops that I don't want to carry around. eg, give him some knights and he's not likely to get attacked by the small bands who wander around Zendar. That way I can free up slots pretty well and get my troops upgraded fast.
  18. Dismounted units.

My 12 veagir knights are all on foot too. I'm sure that the enemy knights are on horseback. It's pretty annoying. Maybe it's because I still have some horsemen in the group who ride the horses? I'm hoping that once they are all trained up they'll start riding again. I've tried commanding them to Mount Up when an enemy horse becomes available but that doesnt work either...
  19. Troop Training and Companions

You talk to him and say "I want to leave some troops with you".

It's quite handy, if you have some troops to upgrade but no free slot to upgrade them into, you can free up some slots by putting a stack in his slots (they have 6 slots or so) and them move them back when you have upgraded

  20. Morrowind/Daggerfall styles in towns

In Morrowind and Daggerfall (daggerfall especially) it was cool that at night, the shops would lock up and the merchants would disappear. You had lock-picking and sneaking skills which would allow you to sneak in and out of the shops, if you could unlock the door unseen, and steal whatever you...
