  1. SP Native Simetrical's View of Reality™, v. 1.0 Beta

Oh, by the way, felt caps (they're the read, round hats, right?) allows me to play my role as a peasant better.

At times I might be bareheaded, but I think it's a natural choice for someone who spends time in the sun all day.
  2. SP Native Simetrical's View of Reality™, v. 1.0 Beta

I like the profeciencies as they are.
It allows me to pick any one handed weapon I like and use it, without having to spend time fighting river pirates with it to improve it.

Combat moves in M&B aren't trained moves, they're just swings or thrusts. There's no real mastery of the art, and I like it that way.

    As for this:
How exactly does he modify it? Surely if he could afford to significantly modify his pitchfork, it would be better to just get a spear? The only reason anyone would use a pitchfork in battle is because they have one handy anyway. It's inherently an improvised weapon.

A battle fork isn't a pitchfork used by peasants.
Just like the flail, it's a military version of the craftsman tool.
A battlefork allows for two thrusting points, prevents the weapon from penetrating the target, as a spear could against an unarmoured foe, and... well, if you're running out of farming tools, or want to settle as a farme some time... :P
  3. Healing of Horses....

Find a safe spot and hit Ctrl+Space to speed time.

At least I think it was Ctrl and Space.
  4. Old England?

The last King Arthur movie was pretty magic-less, as opposed to "Merlin".

Keeping it somewhat close to how the movie did it could be an option.
Merlin could be just a "soothsayer". Fireballs and bolts of lightning aren't necessary.
  5. Killer Gear

It's possible to find boots that does not provide armour cover.

Those should be allowed so you don't run barefootet, unless that was the idea.
  6. Choose Module (Things modders should know)

    Oh, heh heh...

Guess that busted me on using Native for modifying, instead of the Norse folder as shown here.

But I don't use any of the mods around here except for the attackable peasants.
  7. what about hunting and fishing ??? :p

    Nairagorn said:
    Hunting? Maybe. Fishing? Probably not.

Did you ever play Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time?

Fishing in that game was nearly as fun as playing the actual game.

    Something similar I would love.
Fishing from shore/in a river, being able to see the fish.

I suppose it could be something like attacking troops, only you get a window showing there's fish, and asking if you want to fish here or not.
  8. Choose Module (Things modders should know)

Please, if you're making a new mod that modifies what's in modsNative, and/or adds new textures, make a new folder in Mods. I.e. I use "Norse" for my viking mod. This way, you will get an option on the Launch screen to pick mods. It enables people to use your new mods without "messing" up...
  9. Lips!

At least they're not shaped out by greek gods like in Guild Wars.

I mean, even their warrior is hard to make brutish.
It's one of the reasons I prefere Mount & Blade over Guild Wars.

And of course the much better combat system :)
  10. First person or third person?

    Depends.

Having a low res textured shield stuck up your face while not being able to see your enemy I might find annoying.

I prefere first person, because it's so much more real.
And besides, throwing axes and shooting the crossbow/bow in third person without a reticule is difficult at times.
  11. Weapons that you love

If I'm a squire/knight, I prefere to wield an arming sword.

My viking wields a bastard sword, a balanced broadsword and two belts of throwing axes.

If I face a lot of shield wielding foes, I pick up my heavy fighting axe from the chest.

The bastard sword mainly serve as a hit and run weapon from the horse, due to it's length and weight.

Then I switch to the broad sword.
If someone escape me, or there's simply too many to fight with one single sword, I throw my axes.

Sometimes I throw axes from horse as well, if facing really tough foes, although there's nothing as satisfying as throwing one in the backof a peasant, hear them scream and crumble to the ground.
  12. Armor

I think I've seen this armour somewhere here.

At least, it seemed to have that tree with the "stars" around it.
    Not sure where, though.

    Edit: Go here: http://taleworlds.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=2119

Check the first reply for images. Gondor Armour be the one.
  13. Old England?

According to my round of Total War, Crusades come from the Pope, who came from Poland :P

Anyways, could you people cut the personal talk and return to the mod theme?
If not, I suggest we open a new thread with only regards to changing the theme of the game.

Not that I have anything against the original concept, but it wouldn't hurt to be able to switch every now and then.
It's what keeps "old" things fresh :)
  14. Party count per unit

I have a Charisma of 10 and Leadership of 3.
Leadership was not the issue, wondering why for example 7/16 count as a full party is what puzzled me.

Either way, I guess I'll have to train up my units until they all fit under a category, and then bring in another unit and train that as well.

    Thank you.
  15. Party count per unit

What is the different party count for each unit? Even with only 10 units in my party, and a limit of 24, I get a "party capacity reached". I have 1 prisoner, a knight, a hired blade and some footmen. Also how much party slots a hero takes would be a useful addition :) This possesses a problem...
  16. fresh start..

Note that it doesn't add a new shortcut on the desktop each time you install.

Just in case you're modding something, and install a backup, and fear your changes didn't work, which is due to the shortcut loading the latest installation (your backup).

    I speak of experience
  17. Bow & Shield

I reduced the durability with 60% on the weakest shield, and using that as a buckler.

And yes, I have the Willpower ;)
  18. Weapons that you love

My norse just fell in love with the bastard sword.

    Such a viking weapon :)
  19. Bow & Shield

    Thank you *very* much!

    Works like a charm :)

The shield obscures a little of the aimpoint (I run first person without a reticule), but hey, one's got to sacrifice *something*, no?

Now that I can wield short bows and a shield and attack peasants, I can finally play a thief :)
  20. Bow & Shield

    Oh, it is?
I figured it wasn't, seeing as it isn't listed as two handed ingame.

And yes, a buckler isn't held, although it probably could be if you chose to.
