Noticing some programming monsters :o is it only me?

So, I went back playing AD after a long time and got the newest version. And these are the problems I noticed: 1) When you start the game, the Comuni Guelfi is at war with the Bohemian Kingdom, is it normal? :s 2) Comuni Guelfi, Comuni Ghibellini, Republic of Pisa and Genoa have a huge X insted...

    -Pisa Republic
    -Genoa Republic
    -Guelph communes
    -Ghibellin communes
    -Bohemia

the first 4 have a "X" instead of their normal banner, while Bohemia has a strange image

    Shhhht!
It's not banners, these are flags!

When you start the game the Guelph Communes are at war with Bohemia, and I seriously doubt this is historical

    Why no more Italians?

I'm am from Italy and I would doubtly say that we and the Iberians (though similar) are the same people, expecially if we talk about the Middle Ages, when the Italian culture started to born

    I agree!

    Elephants!

So, I would say... because in Middle Age the arabs used Elephants along with Horses for riding at war; wouldn't it be possible to add Elephants as items?

What's the peculirity of joining an order?

However, upon joining an order you lose all your land and gear.

And is there any way to take them back?

    Why the new mercenaries?

In my patch I renamed them "Volgabulgarskie"
That's a (Slavic) plural adjective form. If you want the OCS translation for "Volga Bulgar mercenaries", it would be "Volgobulgarskie naimniki" (respectively, "Volgobulgarskii naimnik" for the singular form). If you want just "Volga Bulgars", then it would be "Volzhskie bulgari" ("Volzhskih bulgar"; though you can also change places - "Bulgar(i) volzhskih/e")). And if you want their "native" language form, then the best would be to use the Arabic form "Bulgar" (or "Burdjan", though that was used for the Danubian ones, AFAIK), though I don't know what their sl and pl forms are (as well as their word for "mercenary", of course).

(Btw, the "Volga-" isn't absolutely necessary - the Russians often use "bulgar-" for the Volga Bulgars and "bolgar-" for the Danubian ones, at least today).

    Да, я это знаю

and Mordovians is the Volga Bulgars. IMHO:smile:
The Mordva were at times subjects of Volga Bulgaria, but they were not Volga Bulgars (I can't say that even the Suvars, modern Chuvashes, can be called "Volga Bulgars", although they were one of the main constituent groups in that state).

This is because the Mordvа was not general mercenaries for RUS, i say that the Volga Bulgars better name for mercenaries, since there in RUS were much more others mercenaries from Volga Bulgaria. not only Mordovians. imho.

In my patch I renamed them "Volgabulgarskie"

adding some middle east, asian, mesoamerican and african factions?

    Well well...

    AFRICA

It would be cool but that would mean change the geography! Africa had three great empires in Middle Age such as Sudanese, Mali and Mauritanian; but they were on the far southern side of Sahara :s it would be really hard to do them!

    MIDDLE EAST

I'd say that Persia would be a nice faction!

    ASIA

We already have Uralic cultures in Russia and Mongol Empires

    MIDDLE AMERICA

Well... how do we add America in a Middle Age European map?

Can we break Holy Roman Empire into small countries

Come on medieval Europe without Brügge and Antwerpen ?   no ___ Flandern ???
    möööööp ...

Well, if my Medieval History knowledge is still good: in XIII Century Vlaanderen had communes like Northern Italy; so it would not be a bad idea to add them as a faction, and we don't even need to split HRE
