Which leveling system do you prefer Warband or Bannerlord?

Hmmm Ok that's good advice thanks! I was thinking of starting a new character soonish cause I'm eh about my current one, which is like, sort of well rounded. I was thinking of doing some two handed, bloodthirsty kind of character lol
You'll still plateau, it will slow down again after the quick skills level. but it does go faster early on due to how much faster you gain those skills from battles. Stewardship by just having the food for example is another that goes insanely fast.

I started to slow down around lvl 10-12 but still faster than my first game. Hopefully in time they rebalance those slow to level ones. Charm for example I believe got patched in another way to gain it, but that skill was soooooo slow and may still be lol.

    Ok seriously

Not sure what this means. If there is no shot at making my own kingdom and progressing thru the story why would I even start a character? If I know I have to power thru it and the main quest isn’t even fully finished or implemented yet I heard
I completed what was there the first time, but on my consecutive play-through I opted to ignore it. Took it a pure sandbox route and its far more enjoyable that way - for me at least - 106 hours played as of today and most of that was sandbox not even pursuing that story. Right now im trying to reach a multi-generational point, my first character dying and passing onto an heir (if its at all even possible, snowballing is slower...but not gone I think)

Which leveling system do you prefer Warband or Bannerlord?

I have managed to reach level 12 in 63 hours of gameplay. Either my character or myself will probably die of old age before he hits level 20.

My character is presently lvl 13 in less than 15 hours of playing, my 3rd game though where i took what I learned and applied it. My first playthrough was much like yours however, leveling took forever. That first character was focused on combat skills, and I found that leveling non combat was harder and took longer soooo.

My 3rd playthrough (2nd bugged) I took non combat skills during character creation. Social attribute and charm, some riding and trade. So while my character was a potato for combat early on, he was leveling incredibly quickly due to all the combat skills I didnt have...which gain experience super quick compared to non combat.

    Ok seriously

You finished it in a year? How tf u get renown so fast? Outnumbered against looters farm?

I'm barely over 220 days with a castle and a city, pushing towards tier 4 clan. I havent fought looters since the first 30 something days. I started picking off weakened vlandian lords while independent with no faction, took a castle from them that was recently taken and weak. Then took advantage of the situation by joining battania who declared war on vlandia. (Cant join a faction when at war, unless they also are at war with them) I joined Battania for protection more or less. Vlandia was bound to send an army at me eventually.

Got home from work and checked, I overestimated my save by about 32 days. 188 days.

    Marriage?

I have done the persuasion attempts on Liena of Vlandia, she told me I have to talk to her clan leader to "make the arrangements". I do this, it opens a barter screen where my side already has "marriage to Liena", but nothing I do on that screen has any affect on the acceptance meter or the offer button. What do I do? I have somewhere around 6000 gold, I'm a mercenary right now with a tier 1 clan.

Offer gold and whatever else you can to them for her hand in marriage. Few thousand gold tends to cover it. The chance of success isnt tracking right it seems on the barter menu. But I've married twice now both times using lots of gold...likely more than i needed to give, since i couldnt see my chance to succeed or fail the barter.

Edit: first time i had a tier 2 clan and was apart of the faction as a vassal. 2nd time I married was not even tier 1 I believe and not apart of the faction...just have to pass those persuasion attempts with the girl and have the coin to buy it in the barter.

    Insufficient Armies

Children become vassals even if the father is still alive I think

If that is true I can see it going both ways, helpful if you need the bodies. Though if they arent careful then dead nobles will pile.

On the flip side, I can see a player wiping out entire clans by baiting them to defend their lands and just slaughtering them. Entire families wiped from existence trying to defend their lands isnt ideal.

Why were the tactics of the roman legions abandoned ?

Throwing weapons were in use at the Battle of Hæstingás in AD1066, where the Englisc Húscarls used stone 'hammers', from what we know shaped pieces of stone strapped to a shaft probably made from leather, which were thrown high into the air to come crashing down on whoever was underneath.
Cool, I learned something new today!

Anybody got a reference picture of those things?  I'd like to model one and put it into Warband.

Not sure if that's a good fit. But think of Thor's Hammer and your set.

    To the topic at hand
*Outdated tactics and a need for better Calvary, i think lead to some if not alot of changes to the roman military

    Rhodock Nation too hard?

I destroy most nations regardless. Nordic Huscarls, Swadian Knights. Send Huscarls in, i lead the Knights far far left,  come back from behind and hit the stragler's of infantry or idotic knights who chase my knights.

Why the hell does France suck?

    Al_Mansur said:
I feel offended by this thread. Why being insulting only against France and French is authorized ? If I say all what I think about England, I would probably be banned.

If France lost during WW2, it's also because of the elites (especially big Banks and Firms) who made the choise of Third Reich. There is a book about this: http://www.amazon.fr/choix-d%C3%A9faite-%C3%A9lites-fran%C3%A7aises-ann%C3%A9es/dp/2200267843 (the Choice of Defeat)

Otherwise, don't forget that France won WWI,  most of crusaders were French, Also, chain mail has probably been invented in Gaul, Frankish swords were so good that they were exported everywhere in Europe, from Scandinavia to al-Andalus, and French medieval military architecture was among the best is world: an English 13th/14th century castle is just ridiculous in comparison to a French one of the same period.

And isn't Normandy, the land of the 11th century "kings" of Europe, in France ? I guess you will retort "NorMans weRen't FreNcH LoOol" but that's bull****: only nobles were largely Vikings, most of Normans were and are from Frankish, Gaul and Saxon origin.

Well Things Stick out here. France didnt Win WW1 it was more of a draw. The Crusaders Wernt all French Far From it, Nor Were the Leaders.  King Richard the Lion Heart (England) Is Proably one of the most Known Leaders. Not to Mention The French leader who lead to the loseing of Jerlesulm When The Garrison left and was defeated. Leaveing Few men to defend the city.
The Romans invented the Most Well known Armor at the Height of the empire. Short Swords. Leveled Plate Shoulders, Also. Gual was Over took by Rome. So to say. Gual and Frankish Arent nearly the same. Gual Was Located in. Moderen day france. Frankish Kingdom was more in Roman Peroid Germany. Seeing that it streched far past the Rhine River Before Rome and Ceaser. France had Very good Medieval Strongholds. But King Richard the Lionheart Sacked how many on his way back from the Crusades? "Quote  most of Normans were and are from Frankish, Gaul and Saxon origin." Saxons Were In England. Until King William the Conquer Order by the holy roman Empire to set up a Norman Kingdom on the Isle. Frankish More than likely Yes.
All and all im just pointing out what didnt fit to me Not Damning the French Culture it was at times one of the greatest Militaristic Empires. From the Days of Gual to Frankish all the way to WW1 and Beyond. Will it be like that one day as it was in the past. More than likely no. Nor will England. or Germany. The super powers of the day. America China and Arugeably Japan. (Canada Forgot to Mention it has some power in this current day and age)

Combat realism in Brytenwalda the discussion

 one thing i saw i gota respond to is. "Ever Survive a Axe hit to the Head"No one i've fought has ever survived that hit. only one thing has and thats the King of a nation on Ireland but it took only a 3 dmg hit to beat him afterword. People can survive extreme head trauma but with major problems or lucky and none.
