A combination of Radiant Cross, EG and Immortals would work for me, if it weren't so damn hard to acquire Immortals as Pendor.

Ideally, you should also have access to a Knighthood Order. They do help out a lot if you're still not familiar with most troops yet.

Being so calculative about stats won't get you much of an advantage. The Pendor archers are good for taking down most troops save for certain unique spawns, and are easier to acquire, train and maintain than the Ravenstern ones. So I don't give a damn whether or not they deal less damage, which is understandable considering that they have a lower upkeep.

And if I want anything dealt with at a longer range, there is a reason why crossbowmen exist. There is also a reason why different variety of troops exist. If you like Rangers, fine. I like Armored Bowmen, they help me win the game, that's good enough for me.

In my experience, if you mix Pendor Armored Archers and Grey Archers, they seem to be even more efficient than the Ravenstern archers, although they lack the range

Does anyone have any problems with shots not being registered? I'm using the M308, and I can easily be more efficient than someone using a double-barreled if my shots actually hit the mark. It occasionally occurs with my UAR as well.

1. Which enemy are you referring to? Some troops in PoP easily have 350 proficiency and use very good weapons, or are mounted and make use of speed bonus to damage you.

2. If you have played vanilla Mount and Blade, it should already be known that blunt and pierce have more damage against armor than cut damage, which is the default slash damage type.

3. Play smart. Don't engage enemies that outnumber you tenfold, and these troops can fill your screen with green texts.

4. Deal with it, always been that way. Best way to progress has always been to be a mercenary for one of the factions.
