Most shields have a weight of 2 (heavy infantry) and light infantry's weak shields have a weight of 1 (recruits, wildlings etc).
However many shields have irrational weight values that do not correspond to their smaller dimensions. Most cavalry shields have a weight of 3 or above although their size is tiny compared to infantry shields. Many low cost infantry also have unjustifiably heavy shield values like the clan warrior, warrior and rabble classes(which are so small that they do not protect you from arrow fire.
My only guess is that taleworlds is intentionally hampering these class's movement speeds to make them less viable in combat.
Please standardize shield weights.
Small/weak shields weighing 1 and large/strong shields weighing 2 is a simple and logical way to approach shield metrics.
