Just got some info about the death of the Archon, it seems that the Looters surrendered after a small skirmish, when they came in front of Pagarios to surrender their weapons and loot. That is when the accident happened, the looters having been overburdened by loot dropped it all on Pagarios, who quickly succumbed.

A tragedy that no one could have foreseen.

Bannerlord is not fine, but this particular instance is completely fine. In real life heavily armored knights could be taken down by peasants. Numbers trumps training and skill, the most highly trained warrior would have trouble with 4 guys let alone 40.
