In Progress Donkeys/Camels and goods no longer appearing in the Escort Caravan quest battles

Summary: As the title says, probably due to the changes of how reinforcement work, the devs have made a small, yet immersion hurting oversight, which is that the "caravan", that is, donkeys, camels, good or whatever that usually appear when defending one, no longer appear whatsoever during the...

SP Fantasy (Game of Thrones) A Clash of Kings (7.0 released 13th of May, 2019)

    Hi all.

ACOK is no longer being developed, and 8.0 or whatever I named the final version is THE final version.

I've moved on to Bannerlord, but it will not be an ASOIAF mod.

I've also closed the Discord, as it was becoming full of right-wing trolls and wannabe nazis.

For some reason, a rumour has been started that I've started HRT. I assume it's been started to embarras me, and because the OP believes it would. I couldn't care less, and fully support anyone who feels like the gender they where assigned at birth does not represent who they are.

    As a closing note:

ACOK was a project I started in 2011, and spent almost 10 years working on in my free time. In that time, I received death threats, harrasment, was the recipient of weird, unfounded, rumours, had my actual real-life personal information tracked down and much more that I can't even remember anymore. I also had a lot of extremely insightful and enjoyable conversations with a lot of people, and I am extremely grateful for everyone who helped me making the mod.

Some people are awesome, and I've highly enjoyed interacting with each and everyone, both in this thread, on the Discord, the Patreon and Moddb. Some people are weird losers, and I've loved every second of salty misery I've apparently caused you by not making the stat-change to a certain weapon that you felt you've deserved. It's been very obvious to me that some of the people that have cried the loudest at some of my decisions have had a hard time letting it go, and yes, I've made certain changes just to piss these people off - and laughed while doing it.

    Peace out!
So that is your integrity and thank you to your fans? Ruin your mod on purpose with bull**** changes? Lol. All because you can't really take criticism.

SP Musket Era Csatádi's Visual and Historical Mod

The cuirassiers are more of an honorary unit, present in very small numbers, usually by the party of the king, if i recall correctly. There is like 10 of them, and they should stay. They are not a problem. I just think they should look like they do in his banner. The overpowered pikemen and cuirassiers (with pistols, lobster pots and cuirasses) are the problem. And both should be in the game. The armored pikemen should be fewer in number.

Removing heavy cuirassiers would not do anything as you barely see them in game. The regular "black reiters" and "cuirassiers" should stay. I do think even they might need a nerf though.

I'd also like a small suggestion, to add a militia cap to the Finnish musketeers, or just a different uniform, so that they are distinguishable on the battlefield as a unique unit. I think I saw an osprey about Finnish musketeers wearing the same cap as a militia cap that is already present in the game, though that probably is an earlier Osprey than what this era is set in. Still, I think something distinguishing would be good.

Given my last playthrough, it is safe to say that Sweden is overly armored and overpowered. Their pikemen mow down all other pikemen. They definitely need a nerf. It would be nice if Sweden had, alongside armored pikemen and lifeguard pikemen, which should be fewer in number, the bulk of their infantry forces wearing hongrelines and of course, having a helmet, but should otherwise be unarmored. Sweden was the spearhead of discarding armor and reforming their pike and shot composition ratios. I have no doubt that armored pike regiments existed, but the majority of pikemen would not have armor by this period, only helmets.

I think this would be both historical and give Sweden the much needed nerf. Their reiters are already tanks and feel like knights on horseback. I've tested it thoroughly and they even mow down armored pikemen.

Also, why are Swedish heavy cuirassiers only wearing lobster pots and having carbines, and not pistols and closed burgonets or burgonets at all for that matter, like is shown in your mod's banner? I think making them look like that would not only make them look better, but more archetypal. I think you should give them blackened open burgonets and closed burgonets as is shown on your picture. Reiter units already have zischagge/lobster pot helmets so I think this would definitely enhance the variety, rarity and uniqueness of said units. The way they are now, they look no different than Swedish cavalry officers.

    Main Thread - 3.0 released!

I really wish someone would. 3.0. is having issues with the latest version of warband it seems. But this mod is something else... how tumultuous it is to see migrating tribes contrasted with an ongoing industrial revolution happening everywhere.... this is one of the most ambitious and well executed mods for warband, and among the most impressive ones. One of my personal favorites. I wish you would continue to work on it, Jacob.

Also, what say you to incorporating this into your mod?

SP Musket Era Csatádi's Visual and Historical Mod

One thing this mod would definitely benefit from the most are more cohesive formations. Now I don't know whether WFAS has them, I remember them whilst playing native WFAS. Both your and the enemy troops would behave very cohesively. Pikes would be in front, clean lines of musketeers in the back.

As it stands right now its all sort of a mush. Whilst playing Heritage of Hussaria (doubt he modified the formations) I have noticed the AI behavior of it firing volleys! And I have witnessed this only once since 2012 or so when I last played native WFAS.

    I've found one mod seemingly compatible with WFAS, but its a big of a challenge to install for me;

I also think you could take a look at the English Civil War mod for formations. In it, the AI behaves naturally as pike and shotte AI should. Pikes blob in squares or lines and move forward, while the musketeers shoot out of a straight line from the back. Its a little bit difficult to explain, but definitely more natural and organic than what WFAS currently has.

Its an amazing mod and I keep coming back to it.

I'd also like to stress that I have not begun other storylines whilst attempting to do the polish one. Do you think you could fix it?

I'd like to report that in your mod, the polish storyline does not work. Burning Vasilkov and getting the relations up to +10 does not trigger "What news of Poland?" option in the dialogue.

I've lost hours of playtime trying to figure this out.

Talking to a guard will result in bugged dialogue. Talking to Mikael will result in him saying "God bless you -UNRECOGNIZED TOKEN-" or something along those lines.

    EDIT:

Also, the Polish lords will not offer a quest to deliver a steed to their lord upon being asked, whereas other factions, or at least the muscovites and the Cossacks, will.

I've been playing recently and I as much as I love it, I have some suggestions.

I think you should make lifeguard pikemen the default pikemen for sweden. They have spectacular colors and just look great. The colors of Sweden. Mind you I know by this point the colors of Gustavus Adolphus, the yellow with blue, were not exactly the mid century fashion or how the army looked. I'm suggesting that the lifeguard pikemen become Swedish pikemen instead and form more of a core of their army. I'd love to see an unarmored version of them as well as armored.

I would love to see the German pikemen with baggy pants restored as mercenaries somehow. Baggy pants still did not entirely go out of fashion at this point, though hongrelines and justacorps were generally replacing them, especially in armies.

I'd love to see some more outfits or special outfits used for mercenary halberdiers. The cloth they wear makes sense, but in a way a lot of said outfit repeats on a lot of troops. It looks a little bit bland. You could restore the old German pikemen (and musketeers) as mercenaries and give them the baggy look, for example.

I think Scots should also be available as mercenaries in taverns.

I would also like to point out that there is something in your mod that has affected the weather system, and compared to vanilla or HoH that I also played alongside your mod, there is a lot of beautiful weather and lightning specific to WFAS that somehow just got removed. I could show you screenshots of what I mean. I'm a little lazy to upload them right now.

Now I'm not sure if there's anything you could do about this, but I finished the black mace quest and I'm the permanent marshal of cossacks hetmanate. Factions seldom declare war and the AI for the most part refuses large engagements. Everything is very slow, as are the declarations of war. Lords seldom offer a "provoke war" quest with a kingdom, and I'm barely seeing nations marshal their armies. The commonwealth is exhausted from the war on all sides and it musters very little troops per each lord, meanwhile the cossacks have grown "fat". The lords don't exactly know how to engage in field battles even if they could join in and turn the tide of battle, they would rather run away. They only usually ever engage if the tide greatly favors one army over another. Autoresolve greatly favors the defenders no matter how large of a cossack army I have behind myself (and boy, is it large) and its difficult to win more than one fortress that way. I have to go around conquering fortresses personally, which, to be frank, due to the AI issues and everything, in the cases of most forts, is rather boring in this game. Especially when the odds are so unequal and clearly favor the attackers. I think the autoresolve is something to be looked at.

I do not remember if I ever had large battles (300 men per side engaging) unless I had intervened and caught the AI while the friendly and enemy AI was in my zone of influence. Usually, two marshalled armies will not engage each other fully. One lord will get ganged up on, some will join in, and the rest will scatter and flee. This is probably outside of your control but its tiresome when all I want to do is have big, decisive battles. A lot of the factions are passive a lot of the time and they seldom marshal armies after a while.

Also, the food tends to run out way too quickly lategame with 130 soldiers. It instantly leads to disease and troops dying, and its usually not sold (at least not in desirable quantities) outside of villages. It isn't really a feature at this point, just an annoyance. I think you should increase the size of the foods in stock, or decrease the amount the armies consume. I also think fiefs, even a single village, give way, way too much gold. Once a player gets a single fief he can bathe in gold.

That's it for now, I think. Enjoying your mod greatly, but I realized that after completing the main quest (with few memorable battles to show for it) i am discouraged from continuing on because of the aforementioned issues. I got to that point yet I haven't enjoyed many decisive, large battles.

EDIT: I'd also like to say that its far easier to resolve rebellions and persuade lords than in vanilla, even with low persuasion. I think this is something to be looked at as well. If you could add some better renown gains for certain quests that would be nice too. Since one cannot become a mercenary, grinding renown to 200 can be a bit of a chore.

And happy ten years, Csatadi mod! You are awesome!

At the very start of my journey 1-3 days after the tutorial, in the village next to Poros, Onica, I was offered a quest to defend the village from the encroaching deserters. The one quest where the village begs you to stay for the bandits will come any moment now. It seemed to work fine. The...
