Saying that it would be handy I meant that skydome - being a sphere in M&B - creates a significant distortion on the lowest part of the texture - so exactly where you're putting your hills and horizon drawing. Another issue I've observed during the development of Panoramic was that there's unneeded "mirror effect" on the bottom - due to the nature of the sphere and how the texture is placed.

If you change your domes to actual skyboxes the main profits are: you get rid of the distortion and mirror, it's easier to maintain proportional horizon line and if the sky texture is cut properly then the effect is better. Also - you can extend the box and thus create a "higher" sky illusion. Cons: painful conversion of the texture - from spherical distortion to flat squares.

Just some ideas you might want to consider.

I would gladly team up with you - but actually I'm making the textures and Soil is making the models so that's all what we want for now really. Unless you're a skilled programmer and you would know how to properly crack skyboxes.txt and the whole weather system in M&B. Information we have now about that file is really insufficient to what I would like to achieve...

As I said in my thread - for upcoming ver. 2.0 I'm going to use completely different method of extending line of sight, including remodelling of outer terrains and with added significant number of skyboxes so I don't see really a problem with existence of your mod. Take your shot - more choices is more fun for the players, right?

We're in testing phase, so Panoramic should be released quite soon. I still have a persisting problem with the materials setup but that should be solved hopefully.

If you're focusing only on adding hills to the skybox texture no one will be even tempted to call it plagiarism, because I'm not painting hills on the sky texture any more.

Your screens look nice but for some reason the download link isn't working for me so I can't say much more.

As though earlier, your best choice would be to team up with TheWitcher.
