I feel like I have had this problem too at some scale, but it's really hard to tell if the angle for overheard/stabs is actually smaller or some other factor that's throwing me off. I have certainly noticed I need to usually make conscious effort to block/attack up/down.

I kinda like height as a variable(at least visually), but it isn't working well at the moment. As said though, I think fixing movement, combat, and camera issues is critical before we can really discuss the pros and cons of height or adding new concepts to justify keeping it as gameplay mechanic.

Couldn't agree more. It certainly looks and feels pleasing when wanted, but if you are trying attack from the same direction repeatedly(especially in sieges and indoors) it's just infuriatingly frustrating and makes you feel once again like you are fighting to control your character more than the actual enemy.

They were intended but afaik warband only supports grayscale specular maps anyway so it won't show up like that in game.

EDIT: I had the green channel on the normal map inverted, updated the download file!

Working on some khergit inspired weaponry. Still playing with design so nothing is set in stone.

The Multiplayer Captain mode at least seems to be limited to crossbowmen only. I think all of the factions' different troops are not at display here, though.
