Is it true that tactic skill allows you to control allied lord's troops?

I think the speed bonus is calculated from the relative movement speed (light gear, agility and athletic or riding) not weapon speed.  Proficiency seems to increase the weapon speed only.  Turning into a swing should not be considered either.

According to your calculations and applying 35% penalty when using 2h weapons on horseback:

Is 10 (16) points of damage worth 15 (25) points of length, in singleplayer?  Reach does not seem to be so crucial on horseback.  Plus you cannot carry a shield.  I think it comes down to personal preference and your fighting style.  This is a hard question.  I am just thinking out loud.

Nobody really knows, but based on experimentation I believe the formula is something like Strength/Power skill bonus + weapon damage roll, with speed bonus being the % of that damage inflicted. So if for example the raw damage is 30 and you get 150% speed bonus, you do 45 damage, while a 50% speed bonus does 15.

Are you sure?  It seems the bonus percentage is used to calculate the bonus which in turn is added to the damage roll.  So speed bonus of 150% does whooping 75 damage.  Negative 50% should half the damage.  Of course a good deal of the damage dealt is sometimes consumed by the armor and the rest is what we see on the screen.

Could you elaborate?

The most difficult part for me is to get discovered during the castle or town entry.  It is a chance event so I end up reloading most of the time.  Five medium gear guards spawn right behind you.  Now that I think about it you always need to turn around to face them.  Aren't you supposed to run away instead?  Sometime I manage to kill two or three of them if I am at full health and manage to avoid whatever they throw at me but it takes a lot of hitting and running.

Or picking up extra shields.

Because the commands work in tournaments it is possible to order your team mates hold the position until the other groups are done slaughtering each other.  It feels bad so I guess it classifies. 

It could be possible to order your team mates to dismount their horses in case your are stuck without and really need one.  This may cause your team mates to get slaughtered fast.  But you get your horse! 

It depends on the sturdiness of my character.  So far I was using a shield and a sword but once I get a lordly plate armor the shield is not needed anymore with 85 health and a lot of points in first aid.  I hate not to be able to kill most of the top tier enemy units with one hit.  Such as the veteran Nord archers who reward me with an arrow in my back for letting them stand and I expect the huscarls to demand two good hits to fall instead of three or four.

So while my 1h proficiency is about 300 I am going to use a two-hander and take a lance instead of a shield.  I plan to fight with the two-hander most of the time but there seems to be a lot of perfect lancing opportunities.  Nomad Bow + Arrows are my all time friends.  However I am not sure which 2h sword to choose yet.  I will probably prefer damage then reach.

I was just offered a prison break quest and they said the captive was denied parole and is treated without honor in the dungeons.  Now, what was the reason for the denial, you may ask if you are curious.  In the case of dishonorable lords, they might be denied parole because they would supposedly never honor the rules as they are considered untrustworthy.  Now breaking out this kind of dishonorable person does not sound very honorable.  Of course, all captured lords go to the prison - honorable or not.  But to be fair, if you visit them in the prison you may find them at their full health, well fed and without a scratch.  There are sometimes more sides of a story.  Can you trust the relative with their claims?  Are they honorable?

Now many of the companions are not of noble origin and are not entitle to parole and should go straight to prison and you do have the option to pay the ransom to save them from their great misfortune although no one mentions them being beaten up and starved. 

There is no need to take notes, unless you did not mean that literally.  Because none of this is relevant to the topic or anything I can think of right now.  I am just saying what my sense of honor is.

I was thinking about voice recognition as the alternative to the F-key (read function key) troop commands when I saw the topic.  What's wrong with me?

It is dishonorable to escape prison but if the enemy grants you freedom because you fought well is perfectly acceptable.  Unless you are prideful.  Lords of honor should honor the honor they are given if that makes any sense at all.

I think you should loose honor when you escape but it's a chance event now so probably not.  The act of breaking lords and companions out of prison seems dishonorable too and should affect your honor score accordingly though.  To be fair.

It's useless for you but valuable for her.  She takes a lot of loot even if you have no room left she takes it all and sells it in the city when you do.  I assume she is a very rich person.  She is not your pack mule, you know.

And you can put stuff in a chest in there.

Playing an archer in a siege against archer units (Khergits, Vaegir, Nords, Saranids) is a little easier than against the other bunch (rhodok, swadian) as you don't need to load yourself with 3 bags of arrows.  You can pick the ones that miss you and your allies.  Also, you can pick your own and your ranged troops as long as the are archers.  However...

Sometimes the arrows disappear in front of your eyes and sometime they are sticking in the wall or the ground, but you can't pick them up.  Is there a time limit or something like that?  Does corpse count setting affect this?  What gives?
