the swadia kingdom is about to fall

    michaelvillena 说:
Just out of curiosity are the Swadians more prone to internal strife and bickering than the other factions?  I've sent companions out to "spy" on the Swadians in separate games and they report that there is a lot of dissatisfaction.  If this is true then wouldn't it advantageous to sign up with Swadia because of the better chance of being awarded captured fiefs what with all of the internal bickering?

Most of the time, it's the same with all factions.  In swadia's case, they have the most fiefs and most lords are single meaning when it comes to voting for fief they only vote for himself.  Also the inbalance in fief distribution makes half the lord bite at the other and Harlaus himself loves to take castle for himself doesn't help.

    5 FRONT WAR need help

    Sir Dekalb 说:
    How do I do that?

Basically, go to your notes while on map screen, click on any of the factions and see on their note if they have the same 'war has been going for a while.. peace be made soon' statement just like yours about war with your nation.

The RNG one is to just save the game frequent and quit without saving and load back into the game hoping there is peace.

Factions: witch is the most powerful and why?

AI wise, khergits are sooo op cause they won't raise their garrison so even the little squirt brat with 1 village runs around with 200 men while the marshal runs around with 400-600.

Player wise, which ever faction I play, gets dominated so I guess I'm like the unlucky charm lol.
    Example:

Rhodoks: Gets stomped by man-at-arms / horseman mamlukes while spearman/trained/vetern gets mauled by morningstars/picks/sarranid axes.  Crossbowman making one man stand before lanced by 4 knights.

Swadia: All side war (you guessed? Oh), lords sucking their thumbs in their castle and the only roaming lords are the marshal with 15 men, some relatives with less than 50, and Harlaus patrolling around Praven with 500 being derp derp (personally if Harlaus had Suno or Uxhal Swadia would function better).

Nords:  Yarrr, we are the almighty Vikings!  Eat ours axes, and we drink from yar skull.  Surprisingly Vaegir archers and javelins doing more than expected while footmen/guards/knights holding off the infantry line.  And open field vs the Swadians?  Gets lanced in face and auto-calc = fail.

Vaegirs: Best archers!!  Oh **** its the horse army, gets stampeded.

Khergits: All horseman!!  We got this mobility war!  1 knight kills 12 before gets knocked unconscious instead of killed by the one lancer with a mace.

Sarranids:  Awsome castles comparable to the Rhodoks, awsome field battles, nice mamluke counts.  *Fights the Khergits*    50 mamlukes vs 2400 horseman.

    5 FRONT WAR need help

Have you read the notes from their side and see if it has the same 'the war has been going for ... and peace should be made soon'?  Though unlikely, you kicked them too hard without them effectively doing any sort of significant damage to you which they would be viewed as weak rulers if they made peace before that.

Other than that It is pure RNG, try save the game and reload it once a while.  I've had Swadia making  peace with Rhodoks and I reload it back to the moment before they made peace, now the Swadians are still at war with the Rhodoks after 3 years (wow).

    Kings and their AI condensed

    Rhodok Sergeant 说:
Heh, Arwa's personality sounds exactly what I'd expect of her. It would be out of character for her to, you know, reward loyalty and everything

Do female claimants raise their own armies and go out fighting?

Claimants are like hero characters before they get their throne, afterwards they are simply liege with default 60 relation with you at the start.

How's the AI for the claimants? Isolla can't be much worse than Harlaus I imagine.
That is actually a good question. I would love to know.

    Personal experience

Isolla:  Herr Durr I got ze throne now, and I have this high school girl crush on zis one lord that has no family and no fief and I will grant all ze fiefs to him.

Arwa: Oh great (Player Name), thank you so much for helping me with this claim.  Huh?  Did you want some fief?  Oh I'm sorry, but I decide who gets it, you can always leave if you feel like it, I'll gladly take your garrison.

Valdym:  Vat?  I'm a bastard, did you expect some fief from me?

Kaster:  Oh no!  Our army is getting their skull split by Nord axes, back washed by Vaegir arrow rain, stampeded by Khergit horsemen, pulverized by Swadian heavy cavalry,  and face planted full of Sarranid jards, what do we do?  Wait, as a new ruler I must handle this personally, this could be negotiated without violence, I believe in peace among Calra-

Dustum Khan:  Less raiding, more capturing!  Think long term and all the lamentation of the women!

Lethwin:  leth beard, leth like Ragnar, leth win or be leth like a Hamlet.  Some people simply always live the shadow of their better counter-part.  Besides, who needs a brain when you are a Nord?

Vessels not joining Castle/Town Siege when am Marshal

    ZakAtk12 说:
I had the same problem when I rebelled with Swadia. The problem for me was that my relation with the faction was set to zero. Vassals wont come to your aid unless your relation is at least accepting (12). Try raising your relationship with the faction by aiding vassals in combat and by rushing to the aid of caravans/farmers.

I believe it is as long as it is in the positive zone but what Zak said, your relation with the faction resets.

When you're captured and then subsequently break free, how do you know which bandits were the ones to capture you?  Are they given purple font like some quests?

    Diffrent kind of lords

The wiki summarizes basically all the info you need to know.

    Now a few players' tips:

Good-natured,Upstanding lords' relation with you is based on your renown for every 3 they gain 1.  If you exceed 300 then they will stick with you forever.  These lords are your best buddies but will hate/dislikes other lords just like everyone else but never within the same relation types ( say good-natured hating on good-natured, but upstanding can have quarrel with a good-natured).

Martial lords are a tier lower than the above but still decent if you can manage them well.  You can see them as one of those "I value justice above all, but if my lord is a **** I'll punish him as well."  They tend to be the better ones and cause less trouble in your kingdom unless it was already there before they joined, all martial lords will lose relation with you if you declare war without cause as they view you a bloodthirsty warmonger.

Cunning(calculating) lords are in a way comparable to martial lords, they give you less relation gain upon setting them free and in a way seems to possess those 'dark sides' (yes I said it).  However they like Martial lords both look at their friends and other non family members when comming to voting for a fief meaning they will manage to fit to in if one of your lord holds feast alot (not Harlaus) and gain relation with them.  Unlike the Martial lords they do not lose relation with you if you declare war without cause which is a plus over the martials.

Bad-tempered/qarrelsome lords are as the name suggests, bad-tempered.  They pick fights more regularly than the above 4 and will hold grudge much deeper, usually you have to do 2 quests of resolving dispute to solve one grudge (personal play experience, has nothing to do with fact).  They will always start with -3 relation with you at the beginning so you should be able to tell them right away upon meeting and later by their bad-mouthing.  Now I won't say they are total bad guys, once they make a friend or 2 they actually vote for them.  However the true downside is that the max relation you can have with them is 97 and not 100 (wait, is it that bad?)  and like martial types they will lose relation with you if you declare war without cause.

Pitiless are a drop from bad-tempered though not by much.  They are a little simular to cunning lords, they do pick fights but not as often, will lose relation upon declaring war without cause but max relation is 100 unlike bad-tempered. They however will look to friends and other members when voting for fiefs.(That was kind of short)

Debauched  Welcome to the bottom of the pyramid, where rats(lords) hang around knowing they are lower than the all time low bad-tempered lords and pitiless.  These are the Debauched lords.  Debauched lords are those lords that your local tavern keeper talks about all the time where she/he mentions of watching out after suggesting him having a job for you (ring any bells?) and has an attitude simular to bad-tempered.  They however will not lose relation with you upon declaring war without cause as they can 'loot and plunder to their enjoyment'.

Other than that all lords with a low enough relation (-50?) who owns a town will have a chance of hiring a hired assassin in the tavern waiting for your head (though honestly I don't even wanna imagine Grainwad having a -50 relation with me, they say when those who don't get mad, its Game Over).

Other people feel free to fill in whatever I missed.

Got Milk? achievement. Steal 3 cattle

    Biggiesized 说:
    SpacePirated 说:
How do it work? I've been stealing cattle with cheat off and it doesn't even count. Am I suppose to get them to another village or my factions castle? I did a quest for finding 3 cattle for a village. I stole 29 cattle from another village and the quest took 3.
I had the same issue.  You need to steal EXACTLY 3 cattle during one attempt.  Too many or too few and the achievement won't be unlocked.

It took me 12 reloads (!) to get exactly 3 when I finally tried to get it.

And now I finally understand, bugger that quest.  Why so specific?
