    This is the final ingame model. I think it looks neat, but I'm not great with textures.

    I like the shape, and the mesh seems pretty well done. Well, except the giant n-gon.

    Anyway, I've got a basic texture on my tachi. I'm working on the mountings and decoration and I was wondering which do you all prefer?

    The lighting is very different in between renders, so only pay attention to the brass.
    n-gon? Could you elaborate on that expression?

  9. [Help]Texturing tips

    I've been venturing into the modelling business And when it comes to the texturing part (meaning, after I make the UV map and unwrap it), I don't know jack about the actual texture business. I'm in no way a decent artist, and there seem to be lots of different "maps" (bump, diffuse, whatever)...

    Sarranid gives a reasonable 1-handed sabre. its better than any other 1h that I know of.
    You are wrong.
    Its a piece of crap that should be thrown into a river because the merchant will laugh at you when you sell it.

    If your looking for a good one handed sword, go to Rivacheng and look into the chest on the street.
    I use this sword for thw whole game, and only whip the 2h regent blade out when i feel like it.
    Claymores are better than the Kurgan, both in damage, speed and reach.

    They don't grant 1 handed swords iirc. Sorry chap :wink:

    Are they in fixed locations? It's a pain in the ass having to search the whole land in search of those little bastards. If they are in fixed locations, can anybody point out where they are? It'd be very handy.

    He had to convince me to even put it up here (I've been tweaking and changing it for about a year now and distributing it privately)

    That said, I'm open to questions, comments, concerns.

    For the artifacts, unfortunately I just had to have them come up occasionally in merchant inventories.  You'll generally see them labelled as "Caldaric" whatever, and they tend to have good modifiers, so they're something you'll generally be packing late-game. Sometimes nobles can spawn with them, I -think-? (honestly cant remember if I set that up) At some point I'd like to have a questline of sorts tied to that, though.

    The Far Eastern Swordsmen are brought up through the Khergit foot line, iow foot archers. There's a HTML troop tree included in the 7zip for the mod that should help with things like this.

    As a sidenote, I don't recommend anyone start by heading for Rivacheg. That place is a sea-raider hellhole. >_>

    Wouldn't far easter swordsmen be better as their own faction, instead of an evolution of a previous faction? Feels a bit out of place, and those guys are awesome.

    Been using this mod since it was posted on /v/, and I like it very much. Still haven't figured out how to raise my own Far Eastern Swordsman, but I have a full set of their armor already.

    I'm wondering what the artifacts are, and how they are labeled/found.
