Hello there, FrisianDude.   Nice to be remembered.  Hope all is well over there.

So it's as effective using less herb, hence reducing expense over time?  I didn't know this.  Will have to investigate.  I'm at an age where I need to stop all the smoking.  This sucks, but I'm glad there are options.  Thanks for the info.

  Miss ya, bud.  Just logged in to post this; was thinking bout you and wonderin' what you were up to, how you were doin'.  Drop me a PM sometime (I won't likely check back to this thread).  Things have been on a steady up-and-up here.  Be well!

Edit: Haven't been doing the forum thing much lately; forgetting my etiquette.

On-Topic: Pretty much zero'd in on Sativa as my mainstay ("Blue Dream" is a consistent favorite; gah, I really don't like these silly names).  Indica just knocks me out; great for a sleep aid, but not for anxiety or appetite stimulation during an active day.

That being said, I only enjoy once in a while now.  But I still enjoy.  And it's nice to be legal and not have to deal with the street riff-raff anymore.

Hope y'all who even remember me are well.  I am.  Cheers.

It reminds me of black ice that forms on roads and rocks up in the Sierra here when it's really cold--super-slippery stuff.

I so want to get this but I'm going to wait; other priorities demand it.  Great to read all these posts--keep 'em coming!

Baldur's Gate all-time favorite among thousands of developers.

These were the books I owned, which we used.  So this would be AD&D 1st Ed. yes?  Monster Manual 2 came late in our period.  I think my brother still has these, but they're beat up as **** because of all the use.

    Your last words.

[after completing the vigilante annihilation of all on my black bucket list, but still at large; spoken with extreme contempt and a sardonic smile]

What concern does a man intent on taking his own life have for your laws or warped sense of morality or "justice?"  I've created my own "justice," and now, I simply deprive you of your revenge--because that's all it is: revenge.
[boom boom, out go my lights]

    How's that for imagination.

For its time, Bladur's Gate was great; not so much today.  I don't think I could make it all the way through again without getting really bored.  I was a first-generation D&D player and DM, so BG was especially cool to me when it first came out.
Uh, what do you mean? BG used 2nd Edition D&D which was different from original AD&D which was different from original D&D (which used the colour-coded Basic, Expert, Master and so-on rule books).

And if you haven't, try the series again with the BG-Trilogy megamod - definitely all the fix/tweak mods and the Sword Coast Stratagems I & II to add challenge, plus NPC Banter pack if you want little bit more life to the NPCs in BG1. Though be warned, the romances that mod adds are cringe-worthy, fanfiction level stuff.

As to PST, I hope you are aware of these:

It's been a very long time.  We started in 1979-80, so I guess that would be AD&D 1st Ed., not the "original" D&D.  Please excuse.  BG was particularly cool for me because it was the first PC game that I played which was based on a D&D rule set.  I wasn't suggesting that BG was based on the "original" rule set.

Thank you for the advice regarding BG mods.  I no longer have the game, lost in a number of moves since those days, but if I try it again, I'll keep these in mind.

Thanks too for taking the time to post those links for PST.  I've had them all applied for quite a while, and even went as  far as to do a direct install (copied all the files to my hard drive and adjusted the .ini for much better performance).  PST is one of those "nostalgic" games that I revisit from time to time, the story is so cool.

    Favorite movies

Hmm, off the top of my head:

    Seven Samurai
    Dances with Wolves
    Blade Runner
the extended editions of The Lord of the Rings trilogy
    John Carpenter's The Thing
    Spinal Tap
    La Femme Nikita
    A Fish Called Wanda
    The Fifth Element
    Gladiator

    On the outside:
    Wild at Heart
    Sexy Beast
    Sid and Nancy

There are more, but that'll do for now.  I don't have access to my collection atm.

Planescape Torment on the other hand, I replay once every couple of years (enough time to forget some details), and still enjoy it.

    Your scariest moments in gaming

System Shock 2 still holds the #1 position for me as far as "scary" games go.  Runners up would be the second half of the original Halo with those mutant critters ... been so long I can't remember offhand what they're called.  The original Quake, with the superb NIN soundtrack, could be quite "scary" at times.

    The Smokeshack

I think the marketing names are silly and don't give an impression of "medical" cannabis.  "Indica" and "sativa" are elements of its scientific name, and there are differences in taste, smell, appearance, and effect.  I find indica great for sleepy or lazy time, but sativa better for creative activities, or activities requiring exertion and stamina.  I've been directly comparing a batch of each over the last month or so.

Things are heating up in California.  US prosecutors are turning up the heat vs. many dispensaries.  Apparently there's been a lot of abuse.  Most local dispensaries here are on their toes, and mine has decided to take a hiatus, relocate in a couple of months after the situation has developed more and, hopefully, chilled out.  Which is fine with me; there are others.

This is a nice sativa btw ... not too wonky, light and day-dreamy ...mmm just noticed I'm hungry and have cotton mouth.  I shall rectify that.

    Mass Effect 3

    Kevlar 说:
Should obviously play Mass effect 3, then 2, then 1  :???:
Nah, I disagree.  I just recently played 1, then 2.  Enjoyed the hell outta both.  It's true that ME is a bit dated graphically and has its "weaknesses," but it's still a good game, and playing through it a couple of times makes ME2--an outstanding game--all the better, e.g. the reunion of Rexx and Shepard in ME2 was truly an e-emotional moment.  That (and other scenes that tie into the previous game) would be missed without a ME play through in which Rexx survives.  I started a FemShep directly from ME2, and there was so much missing in the story compared to the characters I ported from ME.

I highly recommend playing ME, then ME2, and doing so thoughtfully with at least one character throughout to port into ME3 for a more rich story/experience.
