And this but is not about my opinion. It is a fact. You can not give to the players map without basic textures done, without smoothing and balancing the map. I was horrible I admit but I even did not check map properly when I saw how lazy map was done.
The best idea can be destroyed by lack of skills to finish it. I know that . You know that . Everybody knows that.
The screens I posted are not exceptions. There are reality of this map... Honestly, you can not present map like that to the community. People will say: great map to be nice to mapmaker and because always new map is great news, but... sooner or later they will see what I see....
FPS is bad but I can leave with that. Bad Textures and lazy attitude...I can not accept that. Not after great map we had and not knowing we have better maps now.
Suggestion: help him to finish his map as idea is great!
First! I must apologize in advance to any person, or persons, that might feel insulted or upset by the following statements. Of course, the main antagonist of discussion here is kindly excluded from this apology, since he deserves no less.
Now.... I feel really insulted you couldn't post what bothers you directly in my release thread. Anyway MAYBE...who knows... i can explain this in such a way, even you will understand!
When textures are applied on a horizontal surface they look fine. When you try the same thing on vertical surface IT STRETCHES THE TEXTURE!!!! So there is no way to design cliffs that high and sharp, without textures looking like that!
So:
You obviously have no experience in map making for warband. Because if you had some, you would know, that the problem with stretched textures is IN THE GAME. Go complain to Taleworlds!
Secondly I WANTED CLIFFS THAT ARE LIKE THAT. By THAT I MEAN THE SHAPE, NOT THE TEXTURES. (BUT AS I SAID, I CANNOT FIX THAT)!
NOT EVERYTHING IN NATURE IS ROUND AND CIRCULAR and SMOOTH. SOME ROCKS ARE SHARP Some are smooth. Some are in between. If you would sit less behind computer, and go out more, maybe you would notice...or maybe not??!!
It's obvious to me, you don't like realistic maps. For a fjord country, that tried to create, there are already too many smooth plains!
Secondly. I made so much trees for 2 reasons! 1.) It's more realistic! 2.) It creates an ELEMENT OF SURPRISE!!! I explained to someone and i will say it again. It forces factions to have GUARDS! Guards on the walls and guards with surfs.!!! Also that's why i don't particularly like the idea of telling a faction you are declaring war on them. It kills all the trill of a organized and prepared faction. It also gives away when the castle will be most vulnerable and empty.
If you would look again at my thread you would see that i have added the same map with 70% less trees. I'm very sorry but if your crappy computer cannot withstand even that i really cannot see how to help you. BUY A NEW COMPUTER!!!! For a person obsessed with graphic problems of my map, you are the biggest hypocrite. You want the best looking map but your crappy computer cannot run it...and you didn't even check it out fully. Gameplay obviously means nothing to you.
Mount and blade is not hi tech graphic revolution, but that's not why we love to play it.
And finnaly.... I'M LAZY??? This is the biggest map so far! It has all the weapons in all the castles. Also let me remind you that there is no copy paste in the editor...go figure. Maybe you will grasp that?!
As far a gameplay is concerned it has all the stuff other maps have. And it's also my FIRST map so i learned a ton of stuff making it. It took me about a week of 3-5 hours daily to finish it. I would like to see you try. It is clear to me, that you are just a spoiled brat, that hasn't even got the basic amount of common sense, to know when to STFU, when you don't know what the hell you are talking about.
I , nevertheless, still encourage you to take my map, and edit it the way you think is better, even though i think you lack the discipline, imagination and brain power to even do that.

Sorry but no. I specifically didn't want teleport doors. If you host a server you can edit a scene yourself or ask server admins to do it.

1) Add in each respawn commoners a place for become to commoner.
2) it is too much Trees. You can remove 30 % of trees, and remained to increase in size.

I took your idea and added ''leave your faction and become a commoner'' points to every commoner spawn point.
I have already uploaded a map with 70% less trees. If this is still too much you are on your own. Please feel free to edit it as you see fit.

I also visited the server today and saw you downloaded and installed the full version. Please Check the beginning of the thread and try out the -70% trees.

If that is still to much i encourage you to edit it yourself. I have less and less time of lately so i would rather spent it playing than editing.
As for balancing: I don't want all the best archers, footman or riders to join in one faction. That's why balance comes from within the faction. It depends on the skill of the players. It also pushes the engineers to make weapons that will be used, not just making some junk that makes them earn money faster.
But if you really want castles to be more archer or horse oriented please tell me which weapons would you like to see in each castle and i can easily erase the other ones. No problem.
