Something about this sentence isn't computing for some reason. Do you mean that all three trees have similar builds (which I admit that they do), or that the trees themselves haven't been altered enough?
I mean, wheres the variety?
If every troop tree had archers, cavalry, heavy and light infantry, the only difference betwin them will be the armor and weapons they use (how the look).
This is a major reason why I haven't touched the Native trees. As well, I really don't plan to do so in the near future.
But to be fair, the female mercenary tree is meant to be nothing more than an alternative to the male one. I don't have any immediate plans to make anything more out of it.
As for the Knightriders, I can't really defend that they have a troop for every role, primarily because I want them to be pretty powerful. I do agree that I should make some changes to them. Many actually, since I've already started to construct their story arc (on paper, not in game).
Could you please cut off some branches so that the dark knights could actually be a group of knights instead of the army of darkness that has more kinds of troops then every other faction on the map.
However, they
are an army (not necessarily one 'of darkness', though).
Rather than cutting out troops entirely, I'll probably make some troops the type that cannot be obtained through upgrading, like the Knightriders of Doom.
