I think i understand the bug now. While doing the quest, your 5 best men of your party fight along side the men of the questgiver. For me 2 companions and 3 out of 12 imperial infanteryman fought (im still early game). No one died and after we one, the other 9 disappered. When i made 3 of the 12 to imperial trained infanteryman no one disappered. I think the game doesnt reprogress the other men of the unit that didnt fought in battle.
