            So I devised a map design  :idea: ... Who cares right?
    Well what I had in mind is to have map predominantly to be used for in the Invasion game mod  :party: .

    Now the twist is that the map contains two(or more) small enclosed areas(forts, fortified houses, towers, you name it) where the defenders will spawn in :!: . The player will have the option to spawn where they desire; whether it is the first area or the second, its up to them. From there the players can use what they have designated at their locations to use to their advantage, just like in the basic Invasion map styles.

    But, once one spawn has been overtaken by the enemy bots, the AI will be able to spawn at that location---and their original one---and they will continue their march onto the second base.

    The idea seems like a no-brainer, but it could make The Deluge style Invasion a bit more immersible than Invasion game-modes in different Warband mods; which can make 'The Deluge' a bit more popular and bring more people into the mod :shock: . As always this is just a suggestion. Unfortunately, I'm no specialist in this field, and I don't know the exact obstacles that need to be overtaken before taking this on. I just want the mod to have something different to chew on.



    PS. Anyways, I hope that the mod transfer is going as planned. Keep up the good work.

    Btw, this may sound a  bit late at this point, but what's the goal for transferring this mod from WSE launcher to the base launcher? Like what will this allow for future movement of the mod? Since I thought WSE launcher offered a lot of benefits the base launcher didn't have.

    I love this mod and I absolutely love the gamemode Invasion and I'm sure others love it to which is why I was thinking about revamping some things with the Invasion gamemode. Invasion is arguably one of the most popular gamemodes in this mod which is why I believe it needs a bit of an update which could possible make it more fun.

    My first concept which I think would be great is that you should be able to call in supply reinforcements at the beginning and end of each round. You would be able to ask/buy reinforcements from the supply box at the beginning/end of each round (examples would be lances; since they break often, barricades; limited to one per two rounds, better weapons, and cannon ammunition/powder). Now the way that you acquire money for  the supplies is determined by how long you survive (in rounds) on top of how many kills you get. For example: you survive three rounds and kill ten enemy bots, but you team-kill a teammate  (3 rounds x 100 + 10kills x 25 - 200tk =  350 thaler). Also, weapons and supplies cost more than if you were to buy them from the reinforcements.

    The way these players get these supplies would be a bit more realistic instead of just getting them. Once the players settle on what they need the supplies would come at the end of the next round at they would be located in a chest on a wagon that would spawn opposite of the bot spawn on the map. The players would be able to link the wagon with the chest and bring it inside of their defenses every single time the supplies were asked for. Then inside the chest the players would be able to attain what ever they bought. then once the round starts the wagon would de-spawn so that players would not be able to abuse it's ability for defenses, and the same process would repeat until the game ends.

    Please if you can respond what you think about this honestly what you think about this by replying. And of course, changes should be done to make this more appealing to the public.

Moreover, the couching lasts for only 3 seconds or so, making it extremely hard to actually hit anyone within that time frame. This is made even harder by the fact that the lance model sometimes goes THROUGH the enemy with nothing happening, as if the model doesn't fit the hitbox. This is especially the case with hussar flag lances, but also with the normal hussar lances.

    Disclaimer: When I talk about terrain, don't try with the "lances aren't meant to be used on mountain maps" kind of argument. My point is not that lances should be useful on such, impassable maps. My point is that even on maps with flat terrain, the slightest elevation in an otherwise flat landscape will hinder a lance being couched.


    On another note, is it possible to add charging to the mod? As in foot soldiers pressing a button to run at highly increased speed for a short time? I think that given the realistic deadly firearms, melee, more than ever, needs to be able to get in close combat without slowly jogging towards a musket, about to be aimed at its heart.

    Yes, an actual key that would allow you to charge your horse so that you would know exactly if you could couch your lance would be a nice addition as I'm seeing this whole lance problem myself sometimes.

    Having a single cart on the island map would be a nice touch, because I see all these goodies that could be moved, but i have nothing to move it with :cry: It could be a cart or just a simple wagon.

    So I came up with the idea of bringing in a new building material for invasion type gamemodes. This thing or I should call gate would have a simple task and that is to open up and to close. I thought of this because on some games people always rush in and out of the fort at times and the way the engineers built the barricades causes me and other people the trouble of getting back in. the design that I went for was sort of in the style of a moat-type gate. This design, I believe, would allow some players with the possibility of connecting two points of land and could also benefit towards cannons. This could benefit with cannons because if you were to place this in-front of a cannon you can close it while reloading and the open it when you need to fire. Now the size of this thing, if it were to be implemented, should be up to the developers; since they most likely would know how to balance these types of objects. I think it could come out to be the size of a palisade wall except just a bit taller.

    This is just a picture that I drew to give you guys the image.

    That is how the gate could possibly look when it would be closed, it should look very similar to a palisade wall except with some minor differences so you could tell this barricade from another.


    This is how it could look when it's open. The rope can be substituted for something else like a chain or nothing at all.

    And just a note when the gate is opening or closing the actual part that is moving up and down, should be translucent to people and anything that goes through it so people won't get stuck in the ground or if anything else were to happen. This is just an idea and I hope this at least goes somewhere down the road.

    You can already do that with all building materials and cannon ammo packs. If you press G (drop) you're placing a ready-to-use (or build) object. This objects cannot be transported on wagons. However, if you quick-drop the carried item (change or sheath weapon keys) you just drop it as a simple item which can only be picked up again or carried on the wagons. Just try it.

    I know there is a lot of "hidden" and not fully understandable features in the mod right now. I know it needs a proper FAQ... I just didn't have the time to sit down and write all that stuff down yet. :sad:

    Thanks I get it now, maybe in the future (if it'l ever be possible) it can be done so things built onto the wagons, like built palisade, walls will stay onto them when you move the wagon. For now I guess it's just an idea

    Edit:
    -Suggestion- can you guys add like a optional button that allows for a distinct sound to be played whenever you spawn back in on Invasion, because I know about the unsheathing sound, but sometimes it can be misheard at times.

    I can't get enough of these suggestions, but here goes another one. I noticed how when you put whiskey baskets and some other things like packed ammo/powder onto a wagon or cart they kind of just slide right off and float in mid air. And the thing is sometimes I like to transport things from one area to another so that you don't have to walk all the way there, but for these things it just doesn't work. I mean i can separately place the cannon ammo and powder onto the transport but they de-spawn after a while. So i was wondering if there is any possible way to kind make it so objects stick to carts and wagons when they are placed on them, like empty whisket baskets, un-built barricades, etc. The reason I stated that because I got this idea in my head when I was playing your guys' amazing mod on the invasion game-mode, and I got some people to go and my wagon and we kind of drove around the AI; we were seriously the best war wagon out there and that's amazing (it's just so damn fun and hilarious doing so). And I wondered just thought it would be great to put some defenses on this thing so that they my war wagon companions would have some cover, but then I noticed that they slide off. Now, I'm no modder or know anything about modding and such and wondered if this is possible with at least the transport part it, because if it could be done it would be just really freaking amazing, it would be just as good as crouch walking (maybe better). *side note* I feel like I'm saying too much things at once to you guys so I apologize if I'm doing so at this point.

    No way, sorry. Why? Because:
    - we don't want PW mod, like Kuroi said
    - it would require lot of additional, unnecessary scripting
    - we would have to redo all tree models, so that each tree will be a separate model
    - we would have to redo all the maps and replace old trees with new tree scene props (just imagine placing a small forest out of singular trees... plain horror)

    So not things like. Building different objects out of one pile of planks/trunks is however a really good idea. Without proper visualisation of things that are currently being build this will be just too much confusing, but I have an idea how to resolve this... I'll have to test it.

          Yeah I didnt think that through (I didn't know there was a mod with that feature already), but it's nice to see that you guys listen to people. Other than that I have another suggestion (and I hate to just keep on saying these things out for you guys), but it would be cool if you could link another empty horse to your horse so that when you go ahead and link yourself and the horse to a wagon you would go a bit quicker (this could be useful for puling cannon). Im pretty sure that would also require a lot of scripting and that it's a useless idea, but I just want your guys opinions I guess.

                    What I would really like to see is more engineer options to build with. One cool addition could be the option to chop down a tree to achieve planks so that you could build either a palisade wall with a little window our some other type of defense. Also it would be amazing of you could use the same sticks or planks from the spiked fence to build all the other defenses (except for maybe portable shield) by using the circle menu or using Alt to sort through all of them. I think these things could really brighten up the strategy that is put into the mod and plus with more buildable things it will attract people to the mod and make it much more fun.
