More formations
More factions
If you join a kingdom, you get titles (ex. Duke _____, Baron _____)
Knights hold more power than just being total tanks. Like they can control your fief for you.
A better recruitment system, troops leave after a certain amount of service time ( excluding knights and very loyal war-hungry footmen)
Siege equipment.
Larger battlefields.
Larger scale armies.
Implement navies.
Can choose where your men charge.
These are excellent suggestions. I favor the idea of more faction-entities. Parts/regions of swadia could break off and join the Nords or some other kingdom for varying political reasons. Instead of just capturing cities, you could capture regions, each with their own pluses and minuses.
Siege equipment would be difficult to implement in my opinion, but certainlywould be interesting if they can get it to work.
And the need for an improved command system is obvious. The volley fire in with fire and sword is a good example of what is needed. I would love to see effective volley fire for archer & crossbow troops in this new game, and not just musket troops. Again, this is also where fire-arrows would make themselves known, as they could set fields & battlements alight at the whim of the commander.
With this in mind, a more rigid, defined command system would be better than "Stand here. Charge from here. Hold ground here." For example, the commander (player) could have different animations for different commands. For volley fire, one would select the desired squad and hit the command, raising an arm, thereupon entering a mode where one can target an area of the battlefield and give a command to those troops concerning that area: Archers, volley fire at {targeted ground 20 feet ahead}. Once the command is carried out (which would take only a few seconds), the commander would lower his arm, and regular combat would ensue. This would utilize the quick-button command system of the first mount&blade games while improving on it and allowing for more dynamic commanding on the battlefield.
