Personally I love the concept behind this idea, it can give players an extra incentive to keep on fighting and keep on winning. I agree that it may be a bit more difficult to create for each individual fallen warrior instead of simply a lord, but I do think that it's possible. Being able to loot every 5th fallen warrior for instance would be a way to mitigate that, which would be indicated by some sort of marker above the warrior's corpse. But I suppose that MB already does that to a certain extent. Here are some of my own variations surrounding this idea (which are partially based off Lord Milky's)
- warriors of higher ranks have the occasional rare item, but always carry around 350-500 denars with them that can be retrieved by the player
- lords can be looted for quality armour (lordly pieces) and quality weaponry (tempered pieces) among the already mentioned rare/unique items such as
books, scrolls, treasure, etc
- warriors such as caravan guards/masters carry documents pertaining to a hidden chest with valubles which can be found hidden in a guildmaster's shop
- warriors of lower ranks carry an abundance of food rather than treasure, which can be helpful to a player early on in the game
- any fallen mercenary warriors of a higher social status (a knight for example) can also be carrying a quest item that leads to a neutral location on the
map (a new Zendar or something)
