    One more month

I think that I will try Battania first because the celtic culture is interesting for me. Since there is no finno ugric culture in this game so I choose what I feel I like.

    Khuzait Lords

Probably the answer for these mixes is that the khuzaits nomadic peoples and nomadic peoples mixing with peoples live near to their influence by assimilating them. Yana is sounds slavic and his brother Bagui also looks like slavic but he got more khuzait'esque name to fit into the culture more. Also the rest is okay because in the real world there are many variations and cultures.

I don't have any problem with the class system but I  like the full customization because that is fun.  This system won't eliminate the snowball effect because the moddability and the map making itself can kill the  tactics if the map creators make unbalanced maps.

Each faction has it's own tactical and ability options which will work the same like war and.  A faction with cavaliers is more useful on open fields than narrow corridor like places.  So this itself handicap a faction which is dependant on their cavaliers.

I hope they thought out the possibilities of  a modded map and faction balances.

Perhaps it was far off back then, but it most certainly can’t be now. Two years is a long time to work on a game, and say what you will of the game back then, it was somewhat playable since, you know, they played it.

Two year is not so much if you count the 2 year from the plan to the finished product. There are games with 10+ years developement cycles and there are games which still in developement and started in the 90's.

2 year could bre troublesome in this case because they already develop the game but the planning, making a whole new engine, working on both the pc and console versions and making the game moddable all in all is takes a lot of time. It is still very optimistic if 1-2 year needs still to the finish line but I think it is just 1 plus 2-3 months.

Playable is not always means it is finished but it indicate that they are close to the release. If you code a game in batch it is playable when you add the @echo off and some line but that still not a complete game. Making the in game systems sync and bugfree is a hard task and I think they are working on in all the way what I wrote above so that is why they needs more time which is okay.

Why can't we release the game early and finish it with patches? And the players are happy and you can make patches for another 20 years! Isn't that easier? Waiting for release on Gamescom, and still ready to become a beta tester of your game!!!

To me, that business model is everything wrong with the gaming industry today. I’d rather wait for a full, working game than one that is rushed out the door to ride the hype train, but is nowhere near complete

Edit: Disregard if your comment was sarcasm. Hard to tell through text

This is a good way of thinking and I am following the same. No matter how many times it takes if in the end the game is good and works smooth.

If they go in this route they may have lose a lot of prestige and potential consumer. Also a lot of big company nowadays like to make a half baked game then finish it 1-2 years later after the release. Taleworlds works differently and that is honorable. Patches are for fixing smaller bugs and misconceptions. The beta is a good way to get feedback so they can speedup the progress.

"The game is 'was' far from feature and content complete"

I think if the game is nearly completed because otherwise you could not start a beta nor close and nor open beta. I know this is the multiplayer segment but the both is in one game so it could not be just a multiplayer and a singleplayer component because the multiplayer use singleplayer contents like maps, buildings, objects, weapons, some systems etc. I hope it was just a little mistake in wording but the game should not be taken plus 2-3 years in developement because that means something went wrong in the developement and that means the last consumers will also doomsay.

Anyway it is a nice blog and I think you guys are good to go if you can share the beta testing option with a fair amount of players. The overall playerbase of the game is probably not that high if we use the multiplayer numbers but the singleplayer playerbase is larger than the multiplayer one and hopefully when the game is in the final touches you will given enough information how good work you did. Bugs and mistakes could happen but what we have seen in the past few years of videos, images and content I am confident the game is not in that bad shape.

I can wait if I somehow cannot enter to the beta testing but I do not mind that because I am not so good with feedbacks unless you can give a scheme how to do feedback. Anyway keep up the good work and see you later!

It is a nice blog and yeah the options and possibilities are known in other games "looking at you crusader kings2".

So we can execute the lords, heretics, maybe mercenaries or other companions.

I would like to see multiple options there like

    a. releasing a lord can positively and negatively affect you depend on the relation between you and the said lord or what happend. If you killed their loved or liked personels or family members they could swear revenge on you if you release them or just try to backstab you.

    b. an option to avoid or finish battles with duel invitations so the leaders of the armies could engage in a duel and the one who left stand won and the opponents army retreat / tries to catch you.

    c. If you in battle hurt your opponent but you decided you will be merciful then would be nice some option to release the said lords or just first aid him/her then you can have some chance "again on opinion and relation" make the lord serve you or make closer relationship with him/her.

    d. keep the lord as a slave and when you meet with his/her faction you could barter and demand for land / family member / money or goods depend on the rank of your captured lord.

    e. random even before the execution or during your trip.
    - the lord dies accidentaly (still causes relation degradation-improvement on others)
    - your captured lord / prisoner escape
    - joining your forces
    - joining to your forces but with compromises / claims
    - trying to kill you during the night - other companies tries to capture / recapture your prisoner
    - starving or get ill during the trip / if you haven't medicines or enough ration.

    f. make moral decisions in your peoples head / some could turn against you / agreeing with your decision. So if you kill a honorable or atleast a kind person or a wealthy one then your army could consider you are a bad leader and tries to kill you or just leave you alone in the next major battle so your chances to win a battle drop because of this.

Beyond this I have plentiful ideas but I think I will leave the ideas for others too.

Basically a crusader king like diplomacy and moral system with some add ons.

Not an exciting blog but for those whom not know the captain mode in this game series "or in other games" at all now they have some idea what this mode consists. At least they try to communicate despite they are bad at it. My question is simply. Does this morale can change in up&down when a soldier of us dies or one of their ones dies? Like in real life if you manage to reach a goal then your morale slightly goes up and if you have losses then you may panic and lose the morale.

Also don't worry the game most likely won't be so far. In this year maybe or in the next year at last the game will be released. Also I do not have problem with the multiplayer blogs because the majority of the blogs were single player focused and the recent ones "not all" consists multiplayer too because the multiplayer beta releases coming closer. Also a real mount and blade fan is plays both the single and both the multiplayer .

Anyway peps don't panic, it won't helps if you cry on it. Just chill, play other games till and just forget the forums for a while.

Another idea come in mind. There are different kind of horses and I suppose we can equip them with some kind of horse armor. So if we make a fantasy mod with centaurs then the centaurs what will wear? What breed will be used, could they actually reproduce and mix breeds? Just some idea.

All of the horses looks nice a bit weird on the picture and some seems a bit out of the environment but good to know there will be different types. At least this part of the game will be cool and hopefully I will love it aswell but I am not a very good horserider. Anyway thanks this blog

This is actually a good thing and I like it even if I could not get into the beta. I am interested in both aspects of the game because a good game nowaday cannot live without single-multi aspects together. If a game too online focused then the game dies if the playerbase leave and if a singleplayer game cannot get popularity or more player then it dies also. This is the best option for the game I am just hope there will be some option to mod the multiplayer part later and change the speed like in crpg. So not class tied but more like gear based - limited.

It is actually a nice blog and this feature looks good except the clipping but it is not something is really bothersome because in many games this is a normal thing. If they can fix it that is good if not it is good too.

I am wondering who is she (the rider). Seems a bit close to the girl in the past few blog but grown up.

This blog is interesting and that is highly wlecomed in our toolset if we can use this on custom scenarios aswell. Looking at how the ai using these routes and what is their behaviour is looks good so far. Also would be interesting to see how much the npcs and you impact on the economy and how this change the routes and how the ai will use it on it's advantage or disadvantage. Depending on how adaptive will be the ai.

I don't know if it was asked for and once they re re working some stuff in the game but there will be some option to make armours in the game or it will be limited to weapons? Would be nice to have some shield and armor crafting option and balance them with the materials what you are using on it.

I can understand why so many peoples are unhappy about these blogs and overall with the game developement but in the gaming industry there are longer and shorter time projects. If they have had in the start a game engine and they does not need to make one from scratch then we could have been played the game in 2016-17. I am aware of they are a medium size gaming studio and their skills and options are shown in how they made warband or the other games in their portfolio. They improved but maybe they reworking what they made because there are issues with the systems which built in the game or they just feel that is not really imressive as they thought at first time.

8 year developement is a long developement time but we don't know when they started working on the game directly. The engine what they wanted is an in house engine which created in order to be moddable in some part so we could make easier mods in the final result. Also we don't know their funds and how much money they could have saved or spend if they licence an engine which is not their own. Probably they could have use the u3-4 engine or unity but then their game would not be as moddable as they wanted and every developer who not familiar with an engine are willing to make one which fits to them and which is comfortable to use.

Many of you guys pointed out a lot of things and some are good some are the usual defend/cry on devs but it is normal because the life is short and those whom were in their 20-30's soon probably could not focus on the gaming because life is happens and family/school/work is a priority.

This blog was not extremly interesting and as others stated this is a reused blog pretty much because these features was shown in the past.

The reason why they cannot do streams or just make more intersting blogs is simply because there is nothing what they can shown from the game, If we look at the 2016-17 gameplay videos the game much likely completed and there should be polishing and existing system reworks for fine tuning but pretty much this. I suppose something went wrong with the developement but they does not want to confront with the playerbase like most of the devs they are trying to hide stuffs till it is really finished or hope we won't know the truth in some case. There are devs whom can apologize if they failed something but I think Taleworlds just working on a slow pace and they just wish to make a fine product. That is their only excuse after a long developement because they know their playerbase / investors are going to be unhappy if something going wrong. Taleworlds is an independent studio so there are no tight sheldues when the game needs to be done so they can experiment.

The long developement time means nothing in the term of quality but can help a bit. You can make a good game in a month if you know how to do things and have the skill / creativity to do it. Those whom works in larger teams needs communicate and share ideas and these meetings means different ideas and ways to develop the game and it is pretty much can be a wasted time if they make 5-10 end game version based on their developers opinions or just follow 1-2 main ending. This was just an example but the game developement is still a time consuming business and they need to make it clear what is their aim. They have maybe enough funds to finish the game and experiment with it otherwise they just cancelled the game long ago if they could not finish it.

Also under some youtube video some devs commented and that make me a bit optimist so maybe this will be the last year then we will get this game in 2019 or 2020 christmas. That is natural they won't give us a release day info because they learned from other studios whom did this and exactly that happend what happend with them in 2016-17. They failed to deliver the game and they harmed their reputation with promised but not delivered stuff.

I am not defending nor attacking them I am just doing somethig else and when they are finished I will know when to come. We cannot do anything about it just wait or play something else. Defending, bashing, arguing with them is pointless because that won't sped up the developement time and they know their problems too and I am sure they noticed their communication is pretty lack but hey, not everyone should be talkative. There are devs whom talk about the game a lot there are others whom work silently and then release it when noone expected. The surprise effect can work both way.

Ps : Sorry for the grammar but I hope you guys got it what I wished to say. See you around.

Good to see this feature because it adds a new depth of roleplaying. I am wondering if this ability can be used on not only notables but on every npc on calradia. I would personally like to make contact with lowborn peoples of calradia and make a lover or friendly townsman npcs. If this would work and in the end I could make them as a companion whom can get land and order then my dream become real.

A little bit reminds me the system what we have on Elder Scrolls Oblivion.

Also happy new year there too and thanks for the blogs!

 wish you all an efficient next year.
