  1. Warhammer Mod

Wouldn't GW rip out your eyes for even playing the mod?
  2. Poll: Who would like more fantasy elements?

I would be interested in a mod down the road, though. I would expect it mostly to involve fantastic creatures, though - as opposed to magic. Magic would completely change the dynamic of this games combat to something entirely different than it is now, and I love how it is now.
Couldn't agree more. I wouldn't want to change Mount and Blade as it stands, but a mod with a more fantastic setting would be beautiful and enjoyable as a different thing. Some somewhat different (non-combat) magical skills that give you overmap abilities to even the odds against the monsters you're going to fight, and better equipment and units.

armagan, any chance you could make large mod-packages loadable from the launch box, by the way? Some kind of drop-down? That'd need a standardized format for storing the mod, I realize. Is this even possible: have the program search the mod directory for essential files first, and then go back to the core directories and pick up whatever it didn't get?
  3. Some ideas here. Awesome game btw.

Re: whirlwind, I was having a similar discussion with a friend, and I brought up the point that I had recently done warrider damage three times in rapid succession on alternating sides of the horse, and that's enough of a special attack for me.

Since you're basically in total control of the attacks, the question is-- what special attacks can you pull off? It kind of makes it an interesting added challenge to the game.

But I like the point about "stunning."

Too often I've been charging by at full speed on a courser, swung a war sword at some dude, and he blocks with a wooden club, which fully absorbs the blow. Wtf? No! I'm not expecting damage, but he should be scrambling to his feet by the time I'm circling for the second pass. An easy way of determining this is perhaps that blocking warrider damage knocks you over, but only in a world where it's easy to get back on your horse. ("Call horse" shortcut?)
  4. Lose the ghost horses

I'd support having them trot away altogether and then disappear. Very frustrating to hit a ghost horse in the middle of a battle and get hacked apart by infantry, but I still haven't gotten used to jumping.
  5. Wow! (Hello and unbridled enthusiasm)

SquidDNA saying "Hi!" from the Relic Fora, where someone linked this game. I have to say I've only made level 2 and I'm having a blast playing tournaments over and over again, making a ton of money. Addictive does not begin to describe this combat model, and I haven't even really begin to play...
