I've got black hole cities.  What I mean by that is that up to five trading ships or Christian monks or slave traders, even a lord's army of 250, are stuck on Ribe.  This goes for the cities in England as well.  The NPC parties say 'traveling to so and so', but never actually move.  They've all been there for months.  My immersion boner is slayed.

Perhaps you're contracted as a mercenary for this lord?  Would explain why you can still ask to be his vassal.

there's an east engle lord came all the way to Ribe, but it seems he literally got stuck on the city's border, can't move and can't interact with him.  Been there for weeks.  Maybe tied in to the fact that the Norse lords don't know what they're supposed to be doing even during war time?

You kidding?  Name me any DLC and I will show you that for some reason people prefer to play ****ty matches against bots than engaging battles against humans.  Even on Iron Europe, which was utterly fantastic, eventually the Humans vs Bots server won out, clocking over 100 people at a time, and the AI couldn't even shoot back!  Napoleonic Wars is basically in the same vein, and the only populated servers on VC are Viking Invasion which is terrible.
Why does the community crave this ****ty gameplay so much.

Thing that gets me is that they KEPT the Brytenwalda combat formation which I found to be goddamn horrendous.  Yeah, archers in the center of your battle-line and slightly forward.  Brilliant.  The only way to set up a constant fire situation with your archers rather than skirmishing action is to laboriously find the center-point of the archer team and tell them to hold position there, rather than it just being easy.

I asked one what he was doing and said something like "I don't know.  (ERROR)" in red.

Also now I keep getting log messages stating I've delivered anywhere from 0-90 heads of cattle to a lord.  Sometimes got rep increases from it, but seems unlinked to the fictitious amounts of cattle.

If I try to take a ship from Ribe to anywhere, a 9-man NPC party with the sprite of a horse walks onto the water named 'Transporter'.  My camera follows them but my character remains standing on Ribe.

Every 1/12 times or so I click 'So order' after selecting 'Wait here', my group constructs a shelter, regardless of if I have 30 men or enough money to construct it.
Same goes for giving money to village elders for recruitment.  Even if you don't have 300 gold, it will just bring you to 0 and accept the encounter.

Anyways my game is essentially unplayable because I'm stuck in Denmark.
