    I guess this is just a false alert I got from my Antivirus program, but I thought I'd ask. I don't think this is actually infected, just letting you know. The heuristics of this application seem to be a bit uptight.

    Finally, the long wait is over. The rain has stopped and the sun is coming out. Looks like a good weather to do battle.

    (yes I know quoting wikipedia doesn't look like a very smart thing to do but instead of whining about it, at least have a look at my suggestion below)

    Idea 1: Give us throwing hammers. One sledgehammer per slot, and the hammer could be reusable by picking it up from the battlefield after throwing.

    Idea 2: Add throw weapon-option to all weapons? Would require retrieving it afterwards if you are planning to use that weapon again though so don't miss. :smile:

    And no, no shield throwing. No flying saucers of doom. My suggestion only applies to swords, axes, daggers, spears and hammers.

    I know. But I used the throwing shizniz as an example. They don't have to be throwing stars. Just basically more stuff to throw.
    Anything from frying pans to spoons and small children.

    And perhaps something that requires more than power throw 1. Maybe something large that does a lot of damage.

    Let me just give a short list of some novelty weapons. Only minor blunt damage, though.

    A Large Trout. For smacking enemy lords and king around a bit.

    A Red Herring. Confuses enemy, used in similar fashion as A Large Trout.

    Nunchucks, or chuck-nuns? Either ones would be rather formidable.

    A small baby. Causes fear in the enemy. Can be thrown or used as a blunt weapon.


    But more serious suggestion.

    I am all for more throwing weapons, too. It is a bit pointless putting any points into throwing weapons as there are probably something like 4 or 5 different weapons to throw about,
    and the ammo capacity is a bit low. 

    Throwing Stars sound nasty against unarmoured opponent. Against armour they would be useless.

    Also, the spiked/weighted gloves sound like a fantastic idea to me. Or just add blunt damage to the chain and scale mittens and the gauntlets.

    Horse cost

    Horses are herbivores. They eat plants. That stuff grows everywhere.
    But I know their diet could use some change. Maybe make Grain and Apples "horses only"-food, and make them boost travel speed as they don't need to graze as much.

    If the infantry is mounted on horseback, it is no longer infantry?  :lol:
    But I agree, it is a bit silly to have all the troops jog with the hero across the world map.
    Perhaps there is a caravan of wagons to carry the stuff and transport some of the troops behind the scenes? :smile:

    Sooo... The sword would be up over your head, on either side or held in stabbing position?

    Why not just make sword an object, and touching it will cause damage to anyone who is in contact with it? Damage would be calculated on direction and speed of movement. :smile:
    Oh, btw, be careful when trying to siege a castle, those swords, axes and spears piled on the ground can really hurt... Spike mat anyone? :razz:

    (imagines a pile of corpses on a ladder, stopping a siege completely because it kills all the people touching it)
    Sieges would be very exciting. Especially the defense missions. Of course, attacking castles would be impossible but hey...:razz:

    Um... Define "holding in attack position"?
    Poised up for a strike, held in front of you, what?

    If it would work like that, just walking at the enemy while holding your sword in your hand would injure an unarmoured enemy when the blade touches his/her leg/arm/body. :razz:

    But anyway. Getting some sleep. Can't seem to think properly.

    Better sounds

    Weapons do not usually make very loud swooshing sounds when swung. :razz:
    However, I agree there could be some slight variation in some sound effects,
    but I think this probably could be achieved by adjusting the pitch of the sound effect.
    Of course, the amount of channels available does limit the amount of battlefield noise somewhat,
    but it would be nice to have people yelling and shouting there.
    At the moment they seem to be a bit quiet.

    I like the vanilla sounds, too, though. They are functional.
    But I agree that some more variation could be added to add polish.
    But then again, it has been a BETA until now.
    BETA versions don't usually have everything implemented yet. :smile:

    Roleplay aspects of being invited to a faction

    Allow me to throw in a suggestion.

    Let's say that swadians are in war with Nords and Rhodoks. Player starts raiding swadian caravans and villages. This would give the player some reputation among the three factions,
    so the leaders of the Nords and the Rhodoks would notice the player and offer a vassalship, as they see the player as a capable warrior, and as such, too valuable to miss.
    Additionally, a vassalship would give the player military support and ensure that he/she won't start raiding their villages.

    Don't know about you, but that is what I would do if I was a leader of a faction. :smile:

    Damien, it should NOT be the LOOKS that should determine what faction you will be invited, but your ACTIONS.

    It would just be ridiculous to be invited to khergit faction if you raid their caravans and their villages, just on the basis that you are wearing stuff looted off dead khergits...  :lol:
