  3. Auto-block in singleplayer

I had a 11v1 and a 9v1....without armor.. you guys aren't even trying to learn this game instead complain you can't block it's sad really.

Edit: Quality is a bit bad but you see I can still own looters

    Where's the blocking ?
  4. Train troops mission bug

I had this same issue, with a gang fight too - they weren't in my small number of people for the fight itself, but all ten were still in my party
  5. Auto-block in singleplayer

You can't expect to build some reflexes in 3 hours though, keep at it! @Smock

I actually continued for another hour or so after that but reached the point where I was ready to hurl the computer out the window.

Game tutorials should get you familiar and good enough with the game so you can develop yourself playing the rest of the game. You shouldn't still be trying to get to grips with a game mechanic after 5 hours (especially when the rest of the game is fine) to the point you want to smash **** up.

I've given up trying and just avoid all situations where I need to do any hand-to-hand combat. Frankly I don't want to waste any more time on it and am trying to enjoy the rest of the game.

Even the suggestion of using a sword and shield is no good for me - I block until I can time a swing so I don't get hit myself, but they block 80% of those hits, and eventually just break my shield. This just should not be this difficult!! (especially playing on the easiest settings!!)

Perhaps they should allow auto-direction-block on the easiest setting?
(I'm not going to call it auto-block anymore as that doesn't really describe it properly)

I honestly have reached the point where I regret purchasing it upon release. This is such a major thing that makes the game really difficult for me now. It's a shame as I've sunk so many countless hours into the first two releases. I don't feel I can recommend it to anyone except for the hardcore dark souls type players that get off on the difficulty.
  6. Auto-block in singleplayer

Well I've spent 3 hours trying to get used to manual blocking and I just can't do it.

When they pull their weapon back, i just cannot react fast enough to analyse which direction they are attacking in and then tell my hands to carry out the correct move to block in the correct direction. Right now I seem to just chance it about 1 in 5 times, which is just useless. I'm even playing this on the Very Easy settings. I dread to think how hard it would be on normal.

I've even tried duels with bandits using sword and shield and still failed miserably (again on the easiest setting - full health and shield hp) I blocked most of their attacks and managed to hit them back, but they broke my shield before I could kill them and then I was basically defenseless.

Not being able to block effectively means I can't do these duels, tournaments or fight on foot with anything but sword+shield/bow

I'm not going to devote all of my playing time to keep failing to learn a mechanic, I want to get on with the rest of the game, so I'm going to carry on with the rest of the game now , giving up on possibly 20% of the gameplay options and just hope it doesn't spoil the fun of the rest of the game (I've sunk 800+ hours into M&B and Warband (SP) and enjoyed both previous titles immensely) and pray that they implement the feature from the previous two titles.
  7. Auto-block in singleplayer

Auto-block has nothing to do with whether you're a casual gamer or not.

I'm not a casual player by far (Over 250+ hours in warband and probably twice that in original, and quite a few games with 100+ hours sunk into).
Granted, I'm not someone who games for a living, but I'm not someone who just picks something up and dabbes for a few hours.

My gaming time is limited (due to work+kids) and I'd rather not spend 20+ hours trying to get the hang of it for the few occasions that I would actually need it (I've already spent 2 hours trying and just could not get the hang of it). I would prefer to spend most of my time playing the other 90% of this game. It's annoying then, that for that 10% (duels + foot tournaments + arenas) I just completely fail because of a game mechanic I cannot get the hang of (that was in all previous titles).

This feature would not affect anyone who wishes to carry on gaming the way they currently are.
  8. System Crashing Constantly..

Just to second Gamemako - this does sound like a dodgy ram issue (blue screens normally are) make sure everything is seated correctly in the motherboard (ram chips and gfx card) as they can expand and contract slightly in the slots during use, causing weird errors
  9. Hair Textures

Looks like bloom/hdr gone into overdrive tbh (or textures not designed for bloom/hdr)
  10. Unable to lock vertex buffer

Have you tried downloading the latest version of directx and installing it? (even if the version number is the same)
  11. SOLUTION: Reverting Save files from 1.011 to 1.010

I've just downloaded 1.011 off the website, and started a new game - I wanted to try out the native expansion mod anyway
  12. Polished buildings mod [RELEASED] [Siege bug FIX + new pics pg1]

I'd also like to report that after using this mod, i experienced weird scene errors (may or may not be related to this particular mod)

Firstly in a lot of the 'siege tower attack' castles, the siege tower would start off being already at the wall, not needing to be moved.

Secondly, while in most castle attacks, it didn't really make much difference (i actually preferred it ), one or two scenes (Jamiche Castle was one of these), my attacking forces would just stand outside the castle, and would refuse to go up the ramp (making attacking it personally impossible).

I'm only using Native, with the Panoramic, and Colorful textures graphic mods, along with your mod, but something seems to have gone awry somewhere...
  13. sieges

I've had exactly the same problem here

I'm wondering if it's something to do with the steam upgrade to 1.011

    Either that or Polished Buildings...

I have that mod installed - do you have any other mods installed??
  14. SOLUTION: Reverting Save files from 1.011 to 1.010

Does this solve the "(No Faction)" issue?

Or just allow you to open 1.011 saves in 1.010?
  15. Sudden change in the behaviour of looting/pillaging villages and taxes

Anyone know if you can use a save from 1.011 with 1.010?
