    Hi

    I have completed working on the Hrus Castle map.

    -fixed issues with ladders by removing certain laders and reworking mesh and using AI barriers to funnel bots.
    -fixed siege tower by adding second ramp on castle side as troops were too scared to jump from ramp onto castle tower XD.
    -fixed some AI undecisiveness by reworking mesh a little
    -"Babyproofed" map by putting AI barriers to prevent AI getting stuck in some places

    Map is functioning quite well and makes for some fun games especially with a lot of players where you have enemies trying to get into castle from all entry points and you and others coordinate defenses. BlackSniper, you of course will be credited in my server for all your help. Map will be available on my Jagernaught_Arena server tomorrow under the name Old Castle (couldn't get it renamed and working otherwise), so everyone come check it out.

    As for suggested Ideas, since it is my first map, I am gonna keep it as simple as possible now and call it a day, but I will be making more maps in future, which will incorporate these ideas :smile:.

    Thanks for advice, I am thinking to remove the ladder near the siege tower, there is no mesh under the ladder, so maybe issue stems from ai being unable to decide between tower and ladder. I haven't tried putting player in tower, as tower is inaccessible from castle, ramp is fairly steep and only way you can get on it is from attacking side.

    PROGRESS UPDATE

    I started working on the map

    -Removed all the doors
    -Removed the gate cover
    -Added ai barriers on ladders to prevent ai from falling into unmeshed area
    -made a working prison cart that spawns correctly
    -added appropriate entry points
    -Barrierred off all the unmeshed area
    -Added ai barriers to block off unmeshed areas near ladders, siege tower etc.

    GOOD NEWS

    -Map is generally working with enemies, prisoner cart and players spawning correctly
    -With few exceptions ai inside the castle moves around well, although sometimes the route they take is questionable

    ISSUES

    -indecisiveness of ai in some cases. When there is a group of players/player squad members, sometimes ai runs back and forth between them as though it can't decide who is closer and whom to attack
    -Ladders- AI has about 50% chance to actually succeed climbing the ladder, other 50% of times ai runs around in circles near ladder without ever actually going on it
    - Cavalry sometimes sits around ladders, instead of going through gate or ramp. This issue is apparent in some native maps too though e.g. Tatar town

    BENIGN ISSUES

    -AI never opts to use siege tower route into castle

    POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS

    -Play around with meshes and barriers near laders to make ai more efficient at using them.
    -Add steps on defensive tower on which ladders are allowing player squad to walk down the ladders and perhaps generally increasing  mobility around the castle will resolve ai indecisiveness
    -removing ladders entirely, only routes to the castle will be gate, siege tower and ramp.

    So, I made a bit of a progress, however I have few issues, any advice on overcoming these?

    Thanks again, By the way, how do you get custom map recognized by game in order to edit it? most instructions show how to make a new map from scratch where you delete one map so it makes random plains and you edit it. Others say how to upload new map on server, but I need it uploaded onto the game itself so I can edit it?

    Ok, so I will download Hrus castle and work on it.

    I will try to:

    -Add AI mesh for plains around the castle
    -Modify siege equipment i.e decide on castle choke points and just put up ladders permanently and/or keep gate permanently open
    -Ensure horses either cannot get in castle, or have clear way out so they can despawn
    -add entry points for captains, cart and enemies
    -**** ton of trial and error and testing
    -upload on server for others to play

    This may take a while to do, but if and when I succeed, I will upload the map on drop box or something to make it available for you all. Also as I work through it I will post updates.

    Are these maps AI pathed? I am wondering whether these would be good to use on my captain co-op server.
