It is also safe to say that longships pretty much similar to the viking ship in native were still in use by scandinavian countries of the 13th century.

"In Scandinavia, the longship was the usual vessel for war even with the introduction of cogs in the 12th–13th centuries. Leidang fleet-levy laws remained in place for most of the Middle Ages, demanding that the freemen should build, man and furnish ships for war if demanded by the king—ships with at least 20 or 25 oar-pairs (40–50+ rowers). However, by the late 14th century, these low-boarded vessels were at a disadvantage against newer, taller vessels – when the Victual Brothers, in the employee of the Hansa, attacked Bergen in the autumn of 1393, the "great ships" of the pirates could not be boarded by the Norwegian levy ships called out by Margaret I of Denmark and the raiders were able to sack the town with impunity. While earlier times had seen larger and taller longships in service, by this time the authorities had also gone over to other types of ships for warfare. The last Viking longship was defeated in 1429."

    Castle builders and angry peasants.

    Hey everyone!

I'm really enjoying this great mod and also I keep a close eye on this board to see what I can expect in future versions of 1257 AD.
Seeing all those beautiful castles rebuilt for Warband with such a degree of authenticity (not to mention the amount of time it takes to
research all the historical facts about them) makes for gameplay at a very high standard, which is in my opinion a goal worth of commendation!

Hence my builder-genes have awoken and I would like to spend some of my scarce free time in trying to recreate some 13th century scenes, first for testing and later to contribute.

I know about scening and have collected some experience with the ingame editor, however what I'm not fully grasping is what files corresponds to which, lets say, castle, e.g. Lublin castle in the parties.txt is "p_castle_8", but what files is that in the SceneObj folder?

Also, if I want to start an entirely new castle scene with its own terrain, do I have to use the terrain editor and use the code it gives me to compile a new scene or can I just take the quick scene chooser and work with the templates in there?

Apologies if I didn't make too much sense, my brain is too tired for english tonight

How to change (resize) landscape of a scene?

Thx xenoargh, it worked perfectly, even tho that was the easier part considering the probs I had when trying to get the compiler of the module system to work.

@GetAssista: Yeah, that's why I got the first scene totally flat so the risks of a half sunken town is nullified.
But anyways I just wanted to know how it works. Most likely I would build a town totally from scratch if I ever would start serious modding, which I doubt I will

Oh, but just one more thing:
How do I find out which Village or Castle is, lets say village_2 and castle_3? Is there a list somewhere?

How to change (resize) landscape of a scene?

Hey guys, hope you can help me out cause I'm a bit lost. What I'm trying to do is to edit some towns, like Tihr or Wercheg in Warband. The ingame editor is straight forward, no problems with that. However I want to increase the size of the entire scene so I got more space for my building...

    Polished Landscapes test version [RELEASED]

Well, it's probably the best Landscape mod ever. I tend to use it on any other game mod and it has always worked so far.
I just tried Rus: XIII Century and it works just fine, but for some reason I now start getting CTDs with Runtime Error messages whenever I enter a Town/Village or start a battle.

Has anyone got an idea what causes it?

SOLVED:A Question about combining Rus: XIII Century with Polished Landscape

Hello! First of all I would like to say thanks for such a great mod! I'm really enjoying it. I recently got it to work with Gutekfiutek's Polished Landscapes which has become a "must have" for me. The only problem I encountered is that in some occasions I got some weird height issues in towns...
