Or, it could be strategy and planning and charge into battle. That would work, too.

Bringing in new ideas might be a "problem" in the sense that you, personally, don't want it. But it's not a problem in the sense that "nobody" asked for it (plenty of people are asking for it, like the people in this thread), and it's also not a problem in the sense that a game like that would be technically unfeasible.

Oh yes, innovation can be good, I didn't mean the contrary. However, things don't work when you add features that are too alien to the product. A CK2-M&B Hybrid would be epic as a standalone title, but I think that most people who decided to buy M&B did so because they enjoy the simplistic diplomacy and epic battles; and people who play CK2 do so because they enjoy advanced diplomacy, intrigue and planning expansion carefuly.

    biggest issues with bannerlord (POLL)

I just want them to release the arena practice fights as a Free For All in custom games for MP

Just imagine it: a 100 player FFA in the Empire Collosseum - Imagine the blood spray and the chaos lol BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD

(I guess you could have team games in there too - basically the tournaments from SP).

Oh yes, and wouldn't it be cool if you just spawned without weapons (hunger games ish) and had to run to the center of the arena to get one? Those who are too late will have to do with daggers and wait until somebody with a good weapon dies lol

    biggest issues with bannerlord (POLL)

I think that MP is becoming repetitive way too fast, but I get it, it's EA and I'm 100% optimistic on that the experience will improve. My only "complaint" is that updates seem to be too focused on SP content and bugfixes.

    My current thoughts

    Why not?

If this was CK2 with field battles, it would be perfect.

The only real drawback to making Bannerlord into CK2 would be that I highly doubt the devs are capable of pulling it off. Some modders might be able to do it, but right now, Taleworlds should be focusing on fixing the crashes, memory leaks, and gamebreaking bugs. Once the game is playable without mods, then add new features.

That's exactly what people were saying when action RPGs first became a thing, and yet here we are. We're playing an action/RPG/RTS/4X hybrid.

A problem with modern games is precisely that developers try to bring in different stuff that nobody asked for to an already succesful formula. Again, I love CK2 and M&B, but the reason I play both is because each one requires a different mood/disposition. While CK2 requires strategy and planning, M&B is more "just collect rent and then charge into battle", which is fine.

Today I made the decision to end my life

As a CK2 player, I can relate lol
Yess, I remember taking my life only to realize all my vassals hate ME because of what my father did. Then I realized my mistake, lol

    Bannerlord ain't that in depth

It could be as simple as giving your heir a nasty renown hit as soon as you take over, and maybe loosing a bit of relation with your vassals.

Should we be able to marry Rhagaea

This wouldn't make any sense, just like it was explained in this post:

I am voting no. The whole basis for Rhagaea's power is that she's the widow of the dead emperor, running things on behalf of Arenicos's blood heir.

It makes zero sense for Rhagaea to be willing to get married, because it would jeopardize her claim to power. She might be willing to let her daughter get married, but that's a different story. She wants someone sensible to marry Ira to be a good influence.

Alternatively, I can be persuaded that Rhagaea can be marriageable but you better be a dang important character before she's willing to marry you.

Appart from that, I'm assuming that there are no other single or widowed leaders in the world, otherwise why wouldn't any other leader be marriable?
Alternatively, it would be damn cool if after you help her reunite the empire and secure her claim, you COULD marry her, but that sounds too cheesy for me.

    At swordpoint maybe?

That could work. Makes sense, you could use her to increase the legitimacy of your claim, if just slightly.

Today I made the decision to end my life

Nice clickbait. Such a decision would likely tarnish your heir's and your clan's prestige and reputation for generations though.

    New factions?

Add a little city on the island off the coast of the southern empire (this would require boat transports to be a thing), the one south of Poros.
This would an independent city run by the Banking clan of Calradia
    • You and AI lords can take loans from them (e.g. to finance your wars) and hire elite mercenary companies from the city
    • But if you cant repay your debts, they'll raise an army of mercenaries to hunt you down and reposes any fiefs you have.
    • Any fiefs they capture("Reposess"), after 1 season are put up for auction to the highest bidding lord.
      • If no bidder is found an AI lord is spawned in and it becomes a free city.

I really like this idea. I do think however that instead of outright taking your fiefs, they might just keep them for a while (like mortgage) until they pay off the debt with the rents (plus an extra of course). Also, add ships and give some use to islands.

    This post will be hated.

I am a fan. A super fan. I have over 600 hours (logged on steam, more that have not been recorded) with all the mount and blade games.

That being said, Bannerlord is a disappointment. This game is a mod. This a 7 year old mod. I understand this is Early Access....but this is unacceptable. There have been such minimal improvements (to the core game)... I might as well play warband mods.

The biggest issue I have though is multiplayer...how can you have a team oriented game with NO ability to contact/guide teammates (minus a general chat that no one cares about). There is NO incentive to work together and 90% of my multiplayer games are people running in all directions doing whatever they want, and not what the team needs.

This is ridiculous... There has been barely any real development past warband....

Again, I understand I will be told that I am over-reacting and that "It's in early access, what did you expect?!".....Yeah. I know and understand all of that. But I am sick of being burned by this ****ty industry. The gaming industry doesn't care about the customer. And this is proof. This is releasing the SAME damn thing with minimal "updates"....

Your concerns are valid, however I do believe that the current state of singleplayer should raise hopes for at the very least, some truly amazing mods. I mean the framework for a ton of quality content is there, but they really want to focus on stability before adding more features.

Multiplayer does need some serious work though, right now there is 0 incentive to play the objective, either that or people knowingly decide to ignore it.

Bandit-situation is getting out of hand. Needs looking into.

Related note, bandits actually seem under-aggressive against anyone but weak player/Lord armies.

Example, I'll often see a stack of 30+ bandits completely ignore a villager group that's walking next to them within engagement range, and I have never seen them attack a caravan even once. In fact. I've never seen a Lord attack a caravan either, for that matter. I'm not sure if that's just because caravans have such a ridiculously high base speed (rocket-powered horse carts?) or if they're just not targeted at all.

I'm wondering if it's intentional because the devs know it would wreck the economy and just haven't been able to balance it, honestly.

They might be waiting until they get to add Manhunters or similar, since right now lords don't seem to care about bandits.

    My current thoughts

Hey, fellow CK2 player here. The reason I either play CK2 or Bannelord on any given day depends on if I feel like dealing with politics, plotting and treachery or Jumping straight into battle. Both games are great in their own right, but their approach to feudalism is very different. For most people that play Bannerlord/Warband CK2's approach to vassal relations may be too detailed, while bannerlord thrives with simplicity in diplomacy and the fun of the land battles.
