    THAT mods made by fans and most of them BETTER than WFS. and its all free, not 12-14$

    This is actually more than just a mod despite your impressions of what you're seeing on the surface since the devs were able to make some tweaks to the engine itself.

  4. Warband shouldve been a free update.

    Money doesn't grow on trees. Believe it or not, the devs are doing this for a living and need to feed their families somehow. It seems to have been a good business plan too, since most people went ahead and bought Warband. Support the devs, they deserve it so that they can continue to put out fine products for us in the future. If they don't get paid, then we don't get to play.

    Muskets are very slow and innacurate. Most of the fighting will still come down to melee combat. Comparing this to any other run and gun FPS is pretty laughable to be honest. If you haven't even played the game, why stretch so much just to prejudge it?

    This is not the same game that was released in Poland in 2009, much like Warband isn't exactly the same as the original M&B, even though it shares the same campaign. F&S will have higher detailed models, textures, battle formations, new campaign elements plus a new multiplayer mode allowing players to direct their own AI squads. Advertised as being 16 players, 24 AI each. So that's 384 men on the field during multiplayer! Show me, where else I can find that...

    Now this doesn't mean it's time to abandon Warband. Warband is a different period and awesome in its own right. But to deny that this new product will bring anything new and exciting to the franchise sounds more like cognitive dissonance to me from people who have already prejudged it on the basis that they don't feel like making a new purchase.

    I'm yet to be convinced that this could not be achieved on Warband. We've not yet heard any numbers given about the number of players that can face-off as captains with their troops. Warband code already appears to be set up to hold 8 teams in multiplayer, for instance.

    It's 16 players able to command up to 24 troops as I heard. Oh and battle formations, story arcs, destructible walls. Hello! :grin:

    This is going to rock! Warband is also advertised to support up to 64 players, but we all it's not unusual to actually see servers with 100+ players and still being quite playable. I'm not worried about the Warband engine's netcode. It's pretty rock solid.

I realize it's still the Warband engine, but it's still good enough. We don't really need a new engine to drag down frame rates just yet. :wink:

    It's definitely going to be more evolved than Warband by the looks of it. I don't know what version was released in Poland. The Russian version was released a couple months ago and it looks awesome and they are still working on it with patches and stuff.

    Does anyone have any idea when the Steam version will release? Is it any day now or not for a few weeks/months? I was reading the Russian forum and I think someone mentioned 18.2 (Feb 18?) as the day for the Steam release. But my Russian isn't the best and that was a month ago.

    I seriously can't wait. :grin:
  10. How many languages do you speak?

    English and Russian, and I'm not even Russian. I've been studying Russian hard for a couple years. Going to Kiev this fall to teach English.

    Oh and I went to French immersion for 5 years as a kid, but we mostly spoke English there, being in Toronto, and I haven't used much French since. But I speak a little of that too I guess.

    lol, same here. I was slicing some guy and instant CTD online.

    Glad it's not only me.

    This has happened only today and since the patch. I don't think you really fixed it, but rather found a workaround. This simply shouldn't happen.

    Interesting. I have a 5770 and I am running 10.7. No issues, with everything at max.

    Damnit... I really do hate taleworlds.. I don't get why so many people are so enthusiastic about them. This is a retail product... This sort of thing shouldn't happen so often.. They should be quicker to deal with it... And above all they should freakin communicate with their customers..

    They will never get another cent from me.

    Hey, I love this game to death. It's the most fun with a game I've had in ages. But yeah, this shouldn't have happened. A one hour testing session would have easily turned up this problem before they published it and went to bed for the night.

    It doesn't matter if it's a new game or not. You will CTD when an enemy routes.  :neutral:
