Yes, currently you can only create caravans with companions and not with family members.

I have also plently of villages with no noteable personalities. Don't know if they were empty at the beginning of the game or due to enemy raids. They have all low hearts (below 100).

Also no mods.

Edit: have to say, that I'll take always the same spouses if I start a new save. I get max 2 childs.

There is another thing, which is more frivolous, that I haven't understood how it was supposed to work, it's how to get an heir. From what I have seen it's VERY random, I've read that the way to do it is to have your spouse in your party for a while, and at some point, the wife will get pregnant, but that never happened for me, no idea why. I have seen that it happened to other people, and for others, it's the opposite, they get 20 children in 3 in game months. My guess is that there is still some WIP there to make it more consistent, but couldn't find any relatable info about how it works in depth.

Take your spouse into your party, go to a city, choose the wait option, wait until a message pops up (top center beige text box) that your wife/ you are with child. This is how it works for me as a female character.

Then buy them something before you strip them naked. I assumed you sold their stuff after you hired them so you own them at least some chlothes

The quest marks the nearest <specific name> bandit groups that already exist in that region. You'll have to lure or drive them to the town and they'll recieve the quest mark "!". Had this problem with steppe bandits one time and this was a really awful and flimsy moment. I don't think there will spawn extra groups if accepting the quest.

The quest: Train troops for <insert name> works as followed: you'll get 10 troops and they'll have to reach veteran status (1 level up). A bug can appear if you upgrade them during the "take prisonor screen" after a battle and you miss the "send them back home" option (you don't have to bring them back to the village).

If that happen I think you can dismiss one of them and the option would show up again to send them back. Also you don't have to train all of them. If you think 7 veteran troops are enough because the other 3 trainees are wounded and only 1 day left, you can dismiss the 3 trainees and the send them back option will show up.

If you set 2 focus points during character creation, you'll tsart with 20 crossbow points. Otherwise in beta (don't know the other branch) you'll find enough light crossbows with 0 skill requirement if you fight armies with crossbow troops.

This would be cool. Especially if you want to play factionless because reasons.

Green on your side means you'll make a good price. Green on town side it's cheap to buy.

Red on your side means you'll make a loss. Red on town side it's overpriced.

I'm up for it. Also it would be helpful if you are able to command the units during the battle (also if you help peasants during an attack), they always dash towards the enemy and get slaughtered. In warband they were under your command as far as I can remember it.

I have to admit that it looks sometimes really cool.
