I guess I'm a ninja then for I happen to have in my possession two (2) sabers, and I am able to swing them around the same speed as in game. I shall be accepting students to my new found "saber-ninja" school and will begin to train immediatelly. 50000 USD per student, I am the only one of the saber-ninjas left so my knowledge and skills are expensive.
And before someone starts crying, yes, they are actual sabers capable of inflicting death upon an enemy if I were to give them their sharpness back, and no, I can't accurately swing them at that speed (for example, aim at a precise point on a persons throat and cut a vein and nothing but the vein) but that wasn't the point, the point was the speed.

Regarding melee in NW.. I didn't get the chance to try out MM, but if the spinning in MM was much more common and alot faster than in current NW, then screw MM. I don't want to fight any god damn ballerinas. If I did, I would make my own mod called Balls & Ballerinas. I agree that the overhead stab is somewhat OP, but removal of it would be stupid, it's the only good way to rebel against oncoming infantry on the walls when they climb up the ladders. lower stab just ends up chipping the wall itself, no matter how high you aim, just slowing it down or reducing range would be good enough, but for the love of god, do not touch the melee speed anymore, or if you do, tune it down instead. Just because MM vets are crying that they want to do ninja jumpstabs and play out their ballerina fantasies ingame doesn't mean the game has to be destroyed for new players who most likely dislike it.

Me and my buddy were playing on the 84e a little while back. We happened to stumble upon a few major asshats during this game though and would like for them to be banned.
First offender is a rather lovely fellow named CEBOGLU. Me and my mate had a good position with an artillery piece, perhaps a little too back but we were scoring direct hits to the enemy walls, which was the main point. Out of the blue this Colonel Asshat, CEBOGLU came, took my mates artillery train he had left around, limbered our cannon even though we were protesting and stating that we had a good firing position and didn't need moving, and then he proceeded to take our, and couple of other cannons and put them together in to a giant cannon cluster**** closer to the enemy walls, where our artycrews were raped by the enemy mortars.

The second offender is a fellow named Killertree. My mate was playing the bagpipes a little further away from the spawn and I was standing behind him, taking occasional potshots at the walls but generally just waiting for a breach so that we could go in and melee. Unfortunatelly Mr. Killertree here didn't agree with out waiting tactics and decided to shoot me in the back, and then attack my person with a pointy thingy attached to his musket. Needless to say I ended up dead and Mr. Tree went on his merry way after doing his deed.

Third but not least we have Ne, just.. Ne. It's the same map as on the first banrequest, I managed to get our cannon back and get it in to a good position. My friend and mate was doing the shooting and I was doing the reloading, he misjudged the cannon alingment and fired a round ball to the back of the head of a fellow crewmate who was in the cannon cluster**** I was talking about earlier. My mate wrote "sorry mate" or something like that to the public chat (not team chat), but Ne came back for revenge, hitting my friend multiple times with a short sword, I went on the cannon in order to make sure he didn't steal but, but he kicked me in the head, took the cannon, fired the shot to hell and hit me few times with a sword before returning to his cluster**** cannon.

Majority of the time I've had the unpleasant chance to see these lads in action they have ended up griefing, trolling and being general asshats on numerous occations, kicking friendly players, sometimes stabbing them and opening the defenders maingate etc. etc. you get the picture and before some 2nd Trollstream fanboy comes along, screaming from the top of his lungs that this is blasphemy and demanding evidence, I must admit that I do not have the tendency to have Fraps ready to record, nor do I have the habit of taking screenshots because it distracts me from my tea so no, I cannot back my claims with physical evidence thus I won't represent is as a 100% unaltered fact either, just as an opinion of someone who has several years of experience dealing with major asshats and assburgers in general.

I hope this is meant as one of your jokes. I woke up today, looked in the mirror, no. No twat-ness to be found. Went to a EU Official. Didnt grief, didn't troll.. didn't put on any asshat whatsoever. I just played the game. And this might come as a shock to you; I have never trolled, griefed or teamkilled (on purpose) in any server.
What you need to do is remove your account on this forums, to protect others from your poisonous writing keyboard. But hey, this was all a joke right?

Ah. My most sincere apologies for attacking you in general in my last post. I also apologize on behalf of my poisonous keyboard that never does what my fingertips want. What you, though, did not realize is that I stated that anyone I, that being, me, as a person of my own, have seen wearing a 2nd Trollstream tag has more or less been an asshat. As unfortunate it is for us both, I most likely haven't been able to see you, my good fellow, on a server or I haven't stumbled upon your person on some particular day when you have been on a server asshat free and playing as a regular average Joe. I would have been absolutely thrilled to see you in action my good lad, for you would have surely made a huge impact on my view of the regiment you, still my rather good fellow, represent. Unfortunately everybody else I have seen from your glorious and honorable regiment, your colonel included, has mostly acted like a complete twat, thus bringing us to the post before us that I posted earlier. However, I shall, from time to time, keep my eyes open for any of your fellow comrades in virtual arms on the servers and make sure to stealthily observe their behaviour, hoping that the person or persons in question don't end up doing what the other fellows have done, such as blocking the spawnhouse, opening gates, standing in front of friendly arty, and generally going full herd du derp on everybody else on the server.
I look forward to seeing my view of your glorious regiment changed for the better.

My main problem with the melee is easy to see, as easy as spotting a regiment player. You see 2 regular players engaged in a 1on1 melee fight, they go back and forth, doing their little stabbing dance, trying to find that moment where the enemy makes a mistake and you manage to stab him in the face. These are fairly common, but then, tadaaa, here comes the 174th_HerpaDerpas_Regiment_Ltn_General_Colonel_Von_Butterface with his bayonet, does he engage in this beautiful back and forth dance of death? No.. he goes full retard, puts on "you spin me right round" and does exactly that.. spins like a god damn ballerina bugging out every single animation, becoming either impossible to hit, or just randomly hits everybody.. and oh my god if TWO regiment guys fight each other.. it becomes a one hectic match of assgrab. Both circling around each other, trying to stick the bayonet up the others arse.. the sight is just hilarious especially if you imagine it actually happening in real life.. during the Napoleonic Wars.. thousands of men dancing and circling around each other.. wearing tutus.

I hope this one doesn't have 50 layer walls where attackers are completely under the mercy of their own artillery to make a breach. Spent hours and hours on attacking team on maps like that where artillery crewmen had crosseye problems and couldn't hit a barn while being inside of it. Which ment that all we could do was sit in spawn and have some tea or get shot in the face by fifty billion defender mortars and such. Such maps are so lovely I could shove a bayonet in to my own stomach and ride around hitting people in the face with my guts.. if there was a possibility of cavalry that is, which, sadly, is always missing on your server.

bring back the melee from before the latest patch. It's almost pointless to go around with a sword now because you have to hack a guy in the throat about 100 times for it to have any effect while regiment dudes just run around spinning 360 with their bayonets up in the air like they are holding their c*cks. Feels like there's no skill needed in melee anymore unless you are a hardcore fan and want to play with the difficulty setting set at "Nightmare from hell" and go for the sword instead of herpderp bayonet. And the turning speed while having your bayonet "ready to stab" should be lowered. I see too much regiment players just running around players and stabbing them in the ass because you can spin like some sort of ice skater these days.
