OPA! Someone here that actually gets it! Thank you for providing a parody of the average linear game playing gamer. You've pointed out that just because there isn't a pop-up screen or a flashy video that pops up when you do something, like conquering Calradia, gaining high relations with all the Kings, or generally making a lot of money, this would seem like there is no end to M&B. However, as any player of sandbox games and generally people with life experience will tell you, there is usually no magical reward with doing things, their effects in the world are generally perceived as rewards in and of themselves.
For example a person studies really hard for a law degree will usually not expect a magical transport system to instantly produce a prostitute out of thin air for him/her to have their way with once they've graduated and acquired their degree. They should doubly not expect an instant +25 intelligence boost if they graduate with honors.
Same with this game, or any other free roaming game. You decide how far you're willing to go to seek the effects of your actions, will you take Curaw by tonight or will you wait until tomorrow raise a bigger army so you'll end up with less casualties? Or how much can I squeeze out of this one hour before bed, what do I want to accomplish, what do I want to own as my estates?
Forever patronizingly yours, Swadius.
