  1. SP Musket Era Neo Native (v1.35 en/ger)

As yours seems to be the only big mod for WFAS, naturally I'm playing it all the time  I'm wondering why, with all the excellent graphical mods available for Warband, that noone has ported them to WFAS. Would you be able to integrate them into a future version? I'm thinking mods like Polished Landscapes, Improved Buildings, and HD worldmap. I've tried myself, but my modding skills are non-existant, and I can't seem to add the new textures even to vanilla WFAS.

Cheers on the great mod too, I like the new map features.
  2. update 1.143

Haha, weird you should say that Ageofchaos, because that's exactly what I did! I own Kiev now, and I'm doing ok on the money side of things. I thought it was due to the few points in persuasion I had that I was able to convince the first few lords to join, but apparently not. I remember it being way harder in Warband to convince people of anything.

Still bummed about armour though. I fought hundreds of Polish Lancers by now, yet none of them drop their armour? I guess  I have to save up for hand-crafted stuff. I laso think it's cruddy that not all factions have access to superior armours. I want to be a cossack, yet their best armour is only padded stuff? Probably more realistic, but doesn't this give the Swedes and Poles a huge advantage? I don't think anything in the game could stop 100 winged lancers.

I still think trade needs a buff, but I can wait for a mod for that.

One last thing, I remember when I captured my first fortress with a bank, they game me 20% interest, but now that the rebellion is over the rate switches back to 14% even though I own the town?
  3. update 1.143

Yeah, but it's 7K for each lord, so you have to pay 14k to get 12k +1500 it sounds like? So you pretty much have to use persuasion if you want to make any more than 500 thalers from this quest. I'm half expecting a quest to run along the following lines:

    'The Treasure of Ancient KINGS'
'Rumour has it that a VAST fortune of exists in the land. You must find and decode 100 clues to find this treasure. Only the village elders would now of such a thing'
"Spend the next year of game time finding clues - Eventualy find the treasure of 2 million thalers - Hand in quest to local Lord"
'Well done! Unfortunately, state taxes decree that I must take 99.9% of this treasure.'
"Use persuasion - you convince the lord that if you give him a bribe of 5000 thalers, he'll lower the taxes by 0.01%"
    "You lost  5000 thalers"
    "You gain 4000 thalers"

Seriously, it's like this in the game. Someone throw us a feaking bone here and give quests that actually reward you more than 2k!

Warband is a far superior game, not to mention the crap-tonne of mods that are out for it. Thing is I like the setting in WFAS more. I guess I gotta wait a couple of years for the modding community to fix this thing before it's fun to play.
  4. update 1.143

@Thurak: Most of the Mayors now are offering that 'convince these guys to make up' quests, and it sounds good for 12k, yet you have to pay the lords 7k each to agree. My persuasion is 4, yet when I use it all it does is lower the bribe price by a few hundred thalers. Does that sound right? Can you actually use persuade instead of bribing, and howmany skillpoints do you need? Being able to earn 12k from these quests would be awesome.

I understand you need goals, but at least in Warband you could loot yourself some decent equipment to become moderately survivable in combat. Now a lucky musketball (one of many) can take you out in one shot while I'm still wearing some rags I found on a dead tartar.

@Saiko: Cheers for the guide there! When you say assess prices, you mean when you go to the marketplace each time? I've been doing that but only with trade 3. I find the only things abundant enough to trade in large numbers ARE things like beer, fish etc for ~20 each. Powder, iron, tools etc I've only ever found 10 max, and that was only once with iron. My best caravan so far has only made about 3k, since when the caravan arrives the game says 'Profit of X' when it clearly doesn't take into account how much you paid for the good in the first place. It should say Gross Profit, or actually give the net profit.

The fist fighting seems like a lame attempt at Warbands' Arena system. Why take out something awesome and replace it with pub brawls? It seems more useful for the experience that the money (much like the quests). The ransomed girl quest used to be worth 2400 (if you kept the ransom and killed the bandits), now the ransom is only 240? What is with all these stingy nobles? I guess they need to be tight-fisted all the time so they can save up for that 50,000 thaler shoe from the armourer

  5. update 1.143

Yeah, looting or cheating is out of the question, I'm just not that kinda guy

Been playing all afternoon, and I've got about 17k thalers from trading doing pretty much what you said Thurak. It's mostly cheap goods that are abundant enough to caravan, and I think there's only about a dozen each of velvet and spices in the entire game world at the moment. I've invested 10k in a merchant bank, but that's only gonna get me 1400 a MONTH.

Making money wouldn't be such an issue for me if a good suit of armour or pistol didn't cost 100k+ EACH. There's something seriously wrong with the economy in this game. I mean the quests you get from nobles net you a few hundred each for a lot of running around, yet all the equipment in the game is ridiculously expensive.

I really wish they'd change the trading back to something similar to how it was pre-patch. I mean it wasn't that big of an exploit considering how much it costs to outfit and maintain an army, not to mention buy decent frigging equipment. Either that, or just make goods respawn faster! Trading wouldn't be so bad if there was simply more stuff to trade. I think I've almost run out of profitable caravans
  6. update 1.143

I started playing the game at v1.143, and I just couldn't understand all these people saying 'Yeah, I get 100k per caravan of spice or velvet'. Hardly any towns have goods to caravan, and I only make 2-4k after travelling across the map.

I loved how in Warband you could enter a tournament and make a decent amount of cash that way. There doesn't seem to be anything similar in WFAS.

The escort caravan quests are a joke. 200 thalers for escorting a caravan from one edge of the world to the other? Warband was already a tedious in the early game, WFAS is even more so it seems.

So anyone have any tips for making money in v1.143? I can't find any guides for the new version.
  7. [B]Warband minimod - Reworked Armors 1.6 [OSP]

I get an error about a kettle hat when I try to run with v1.6.

    Excellent mod btw!
  8. Cannot see battle due to oversized text.

I've adjusted my font size to 85, which is a compromise between battlefield and menu visibility. The problem now is the length of each line of text.

The size is fine now, it's just that a single sentence (or casualty report) still goes almost halfway across the screen before starting a new line.

I was wondering if there's an option in font_data.xml where you can set the maximum characters for one sentence?

    I'll experiment in the meantime.
  9. List of suggestions (sorted+opinion of the majority) Updated 9 Dec

What about a 'fast travel' button? Most games I've played with large scale map travelling (Total War series, Sid Meier's Pirates, Heroes oMM series) allow you to press a button that speeds up time to save valuable minutes waiting for the little horse to reach a distant city.

This is where someone tells me I'm a noob and that the function already exists. I hope this is the case
  10. Is Revenge Of The Berserk Going To Be Ported To M&B Warband?

Aww man, I so want to play this. Atm I'm just playing Warband with a character named 'Gutts'

I don't know how to mod things at all, but since the first M&B and Warband are so similar, wouldn't it be relatively easier to convert RotB over? What things actually need to be changed?

OT: Regarding the anime, I don't see how they can pass up a second season. The story is excellent, there's plenty of material from the manga, and that ending was a perfect set-up for another season. I felt like the story had just begun, just started to get really interesting, rather than ended, which is awesome.

I guess I have to find the manga for my Berserk fix now (finished series lastnight, such a killer ending ).
  11. Sound problem

Thanks to Gerhart for politely directing me to this thread (he's a friendly chap ).

I've got the same problem. Worked fine yesterday, crackling sound today. Tried re-install, all drivers up to day, did virus scan.

I'm using Windows 7 32-bit, with an X-Fi Surround 5.1. I want to try the 'disable hardware acceleration' method, but I can't find the option. I've read Windows 7 doesn't allow the option in dxdiag, but I can't find it on my soundcard properties either.
  12. Sound Lag Problem

Hey arse-wipe, I did happen to use the search function and this thread is what I got, so shut your sarcastic bloody pie hole.

You could've just directed me to the correct thread that you yourself have already posted in (which, by the way, has nothing to do with x-fi cards), but no, you had to be an arse-hole and defend your nerd rights to bag someone out if they make a mistake. I already knew I might be making a mistake by posting here, hence my apology in advance, you didn't have to rub it in my face.

Also, if this is in the wrong section, why hasn't it been moved/deleted?

I must say, this is quite a warm welcome to this community. I honestly hope there are more helpful friendly people on here, just like you.
  13. Sound Lag Problem

Same as monster, I've got the same problem but didn't think it justified a new thread. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I bought Warband a couple of days ago, and it worked perfectly. I downloaded a few mods (Litus, Reworked armours, Better Banners) yesterday, but didn't try them until today.

I get distorted sound in Warband and no other game. I re-installed the game without the mods, and the sound is still distorted!?

Nothing else has changed on my system, so I'm at a loss for an explanation.

    I'm running v1.113, and I'm using a Creative X-Fi Surround 5.1 (it's an external USB soundcard).

EDIT: I have the latest drivers for everything, although for some reason dxdiag says my sound drivers aren't digitally signed. I got them from the Creative website...
  14. Is Revenge Of The Berserk Going To Be Ported To M&B Warband?

I'm new to M&B and Berserk, and I gotta ask when will this be available for Warband?

I'm about halfway through my first watch of the series, and it's awesome! I can't believe the manga has been running for 20+ years. Wish they'd make a season 2 or something.

Anyway, I just discovered Warbands, then RotB and now I can't wait until it's released!!!

I think I read that the 'module' has been released, so I hope that means we'll be downloading it soon.

    Cheers to the mod creators!
