TY! Sorry for a late reply. I also noticed the recent patch fixing the bug from 'Lord Needs Horses' that made it keep going to failure when lord is killed/imprisioned...had that happen a while back and think I commented on a report elsewhere. I do appreciate the efforts thus far! Lot of good fixes and additions.

Unfortunately, I no longer have a hard save or auto save from before that point...would have been smart to save and extra, huh? I can try and provide a little more detail or a add a current save? But the bulk of it was:

I accepted the quest just fine and only had -2 relation with the lord at the time
Was a merc with another kingdom but not at war at all
No issues or relation changes happened in the 30(?) day window while doing quest
No other reason I can think of unless Honor -1 on my character would affect no being able to enter a fief, but then why would he even let my do that quest if he didn't want me entering his castle.

Also I should mention, in the newer game where it works, I've never even been a lord yet. I'm purely working as a raiding mercenary until I reach clan lvl 6 to constantly harass the ever-growing Vlandia and Khusait

If you have a campaign before the 1.5.3 main update, it's probably the reason. My first main game is a couple months old and I don't even have 1 child despite being married at least 5 years and always having them with me half that time. I married Sora of the Northern Empire and nothing happens...think I started at 1.5.1. However I have a newer game recently and literally have 4 children within the 4 years we've been married.

I have a game since like 1.5.2 and around day 1200, been married for several in-game years and never a child yet and in my 40's. I'm getting concerned lol. Wife is Sora from Northern Empire and they have like 24 relation with me and started bringing them on my campaigns since staying in my castle for a week or 2 was quite boring lol

Please not like BotW lol...if anything, it should be a very rare chance and maybe only after certain criteria like if you were chambered so many times or something. Only probably is the price to replace might ruin the game and experience if it was too frequently, especially if you consider people having 2-3 weapons on characters plus companions.

once you get the flacion blade and have some spare steel, make the longest 2h sword with like 115 cut damage and watch the 30k tags rise up lol. Then when you get a good javelin head and make the damage as high as you can, I'll get them going to max at like 110k. But I agree that this is a bit annoying especially if you literally just bought them new gear.

Alternatively, make a separate group you don't need for a 'general's guard' like I did in old warband and just have them follow you around on foot or horse, or keep them back if they're safe from cav

TY! +1, having same exact issue and it even says there's a 1.5.4 patch on Steam but no update to it. hopefully this gets fixed soon, kinda ruining the experience and QoL

I think most of what I've seen so far is pretty realistic...almost every single lord I chase while patroling our borders does not wish to fight unless they very much outnumber me...unlike Warband where a weak lord with half the numbers and significantly lower tier troops would still engage me. I like that...it feels like they are actually preserving and prioritizing their troops' lives and focusing on capturing strategic points and mostly just get into larger scale battles.

That said, I haven't really seen exactly what you describe...it's almost always a retaliation army that goes to defend a point and any other smaller parties will wait from a distance until reinforcement arrives...some even chasing an army 5 times their size waiting for an opportunity while the army presses towards their objective. But I'm sure it could use some adjusting as it's still early EA

Boi the Sarranids in Warband were amazing, best archers and cav, didn't even need infantry but they still had well armored guards. They aren't deemed the super manly barbaric hardy people but didn't matter. You missed out

+1 awesome input and presentation...however, I think 1 day to wait is far too short, especially for higher average tiers of weapons. Realistically 1 day would work for a simple iron weapon or tool, but a fine steel or the rare whatever steel plus the fine craftsmanship needed for a lordly 40k sword of the gods would probably take a week or even longer. Partly because the blacksmith may have other things on his plate he can't just put down or maybe they need time to find the rare steel and depending on location could cost more than others. You could really go big with this, and personal requested armor would be another idea if you can't find any on the local markets, maybe pay to 'hold' a set for you.

I only have like 70 charm on a fairly new char and just did this quest with a 54% and 71% option and no fails. Not too hard just rng and luck with picking right choices first.
