It seems to me autocalculations work poorly here especially when towns and castles are besieged by enemies and player isn't able to involve in their defense personally. They seem to me very unfavourable to player. I doubt whether there is considered advantage of bulwarks protection sufficiently and quality of garrison troops. It looks as though only numbers were considered. My town were invaded by Sarranids and I had 250 elite troops in it, mostly knights and when I managed to reach it from distant place at map I didn't have any town already. It became very fast. And for that reason it seems to me very, very suspicious.
Sometimes it seems to me as devs would want to drive out us all from here because no reports of bugs + no further suggestions = game is good and there is no need to improve it further. At BugTracker is stated not to put suggestions there but somewhere here but paradoxically nobody reacts at them again here.
Siege defense:
1) move to the entry point of ladder/siege tower
2) order infantry & cavalry units to 'hold ground', then 'stand closer'
3) once infantry and dismounted cavalry is there, order them to 'stand ground'
4) stand slightly to the left or right of the entry point, just so you are sheltered from missile fire but within melee range of the ramp/ladder
5) spam overhead attacks with 2-handed weapon with set intervals: goal - kill as much Nords/Rhodoks per minute as possible!
6) congratulations, you've won the siege!
