  1. What is the average wait time for the assembly?

Hate to necro an old thread, but I'm having the same issue verbatim.

After getting the letter, I stopped the storyline missions and spent a year running around doing missions for everyone in Denmark to make them all 30+ to help with the assembly. Then after getting most of the lords up there, I went back to the King and told him the letter was destroyed, and he told me to wait for the assembly.

I've tried walking up and down Denmark for 72 hours after talking to the king. I've tried running errands all over the continent for weeks before returning to Denmark to skip time for a week (ctrl + space). Tried to restart the game just to be sure it wasn't a client issue. I only had one mod at the time (VC Political Map OSP, just lets you see data maps of the status of various towns and such), which I deactivated prior to talking to the King when he says, 'wait for the assembly', and that didn't help either.

Don't know if it's relevant, but I still have the same mission log I had prior to talking to him. "Saving Your Neck: Wooing Farmers and Jarls" which only mentions the King having good relations with me (is it supposed to update as you make other Denmark Jarls like you?). None of the notes or quest logs have any notes that mention that I'm waiting for The Assembly to be called.

Are there any work-arounds or ways to force-trigger events via the in-game console or save editing? Because it would really suck if I had to abandon this entire playthrough just for one show-stopping bug.

  2. Armorer and Smithy at refuge?

Oh, I realized you could walk around the outside of the refuge.

I assumed you couldn't because the doors in the halls are non-functional... you can't use them to go outside the halls like you can in city buildings, for some very strange reason. You can only teleport in/out via the menu. But yeah, I found them. Thanks.
  3. Armorer and Smithy at refuge?

I've hired every available staff member, but these two are the only ones I don't see physically standing around the refuge or mead halls. Is this some sort of bug, or are they supposed to be "off-screen" providing passive benefits behind the scenes? And what exactly do they do at the refuge? Or...
  4. Hideouts, Shrines, and other spawners

I'm sure everyone is familiar with spawners, those things that generate minor faction patrols to harass your local travelers. How do you guys typically handle these annoyances? I've been trying to brainstorm a good strategy, but I know too little about the mechanics behind them (spawn rate...

I've done this with all the minor factions like the Jatu and various bandits/etc... As your tyran... empire expands, it's nice knowing that all your inden... civilian caravans can travel unmolested booting prosperity and revenue.

Tested this. While some may leave YOUR units alone, they still attack traveling caravans (from other cities), thus damaging your city's economy/trade -- even if it does protect your city's prosperity. Given that I think it may be better to leave them hostile so your militia attacks them on sight. You may lose a bit more farmers that way, but you'll also earn more by having more working trade routes.
  6. [LEGACY] Quick Questions // Quick Answers

I've read a few times people say combining the Diplomacy and PoP mod is a fruitless endeavor, because PoP already contains most of Diplomacy mods' features. Does that include fief trading, though? In other words, can you trade fiefs in PoP? Or even "abandon" fiefs?

I know it's an odd question. The reason behind it is whenever I get my first city as a vassal, it always ends up being an unmanageable distance from whatever random village I was given when I first joined the faction, sometimes even making it more trouble than its worth if its in an often-looted border region...
  7. [LEGACY] Quick Questions // Quick Answers

When you defeat beat a unique spawn and capture its leader, then release him/her for a ransom (as opposed to choosing the kill/exile options), are they taken "out of game" or can they reappear later in the game with a new army?

Does PoP make any significant changes to the good trading system (supply, consumption, etc) compared to vanilla Warband, such as better balancing? If there are changes, can anyone point to a good guide or thread with some juicy details on trading advice for PoP?

I ask because I wanted to buy a productive enterprise, but I'm afraid that (like in vanilla Warband) it might end up consuming so much material that the raw material's price becomes higher than the actual finished product, thus making the enterprise a permanent money-loser unless you constantly micromanage it...
There are pretty much only two good enterprises. The tannery and the dye works. Dye work is usually anywhere from 400-600 profit per week. Tannery can go from 300-800 from what I have seen. I don't really trade so I am not sure about trade routes. I just make my guys autosell.

Have you tried running bakeries and other food manufacturies, or are they poor in the long run? I read in the vanilla Warband wiki that foodstuffs get consumed the most frequently by a town, so I would have assumed-- if all goods are produced at the same speed -- that it would be things like the bakery that do the best in the long run.

I only ask because looking at some of the poorest major towns, bread has a 200% mark up while most other goods have only a 120%-150% markup. But for all I know that could be a temporary shortage or a random fluke.
  9. AI-to-AI relations (holdings and minor factions)

I think it's always worth it as long as the one you piss off is a major faction. After helping a minor faction against a major faction, you just need to pay a few denars and the relation with the major faction can be reset to zero.

On a semi-related note, is there any advantage to having positive relations with an entire (major) faction above zero? I wanted to get friendly with the local bandits, but I'm just wondering since I'm a vassal that if lowering my faction standing with my masters faction (not the King specifically, but the faction relationship) will lower my chances of receiving fiefs, etc.

  11. AI-to-AI relations (holdings and minor factions)

It's a given that, by siding with minor factions during a battle with someone else, you can raise your standing with that minor faction. Then they won't attack you. But does this also apply to any AI units affiliated with you? For example... 1) Your personal fiefs, and their spawns (patrols...
