It's likely your ram is also causing problems for this game as DDR2 is a vast improvement over DDR and i would imagin this game runs poor on 1.5gb of DDR2 as well. Not helped by memory leaks which i still get, though havn't played the lats 3 patchs as im back at uni from easter holidays. I imagin the cpu is just cliping the minimal specs at least. So i dont think upgrading your graphics card would do a huge amount. I was running a 3200+, 6800GT , 1.5GB DDR ram something like 11/12 years ago to put it in perspective i think.

Looks to me like you need a new pc.

Infact having briefly skimmed current day prices i suspect i could build a pc and overclock it to easily outdo warband for maybe 350 quid. You should maybe consider it. It wont be top of the range and will be several years behind current gen but this game is several years behind also. However the thing to think about with pc's is price to performance benefit.

The sweat spot for this is generaly 700-900 quid.

You first get openbrf, then go through your commonres folder and in each file rename the lod models so that they all go down a number (or replace them all with the highest numbered lod if your card is really bad). Or alternatively, if you find that a bit tedious (it took me a couple of hours at least) you can wait till I get back to my computer and upload my own commonres folder which already has this modification. I actually have a pretty good graphics card, I just wanted a bit of a speed boost for monster-size battles.

What other settings have you tried experimenting with? Foilage slowdown is usually caused by the shadows settings. Of course, putting the tree fadeout to minimum distance might help. You probably want to try tweaking Windows for maximum performance too.

That's a myth.

You can overclock if don't already have overheat problems, just do it little step by little step.
The only way for someone to ruin something by overclocking it is because they are either doing it wrong or are retarded, there are a lot of tutorials on the net that'll teach you how to do it properly.
