Updated drivers and still the same stuttering. The one I downloaded (Catalyst Software Suite) said it was released 01/25/12, but the driver (after instalation) says 12/05/11. I donno what is going on there.
I am going to grab the AMD Catalyst Application Profiles driver as well as it mentions M&B, but regarding crossfire, which I am not using. But I figure I can try it out anyway.
*edit 3* I think I found an answer. Using cheat CTRL-T starts the stuttering. Which considering that it seems to only effect me after my party size reaches a certain amount is interesting. Is it that after my party reaches a certain size that bandit parties and lord parties get bigger and its now having a problem counting them? I never had this problem in 2.4, nor even on my old single core system.
Do you still have the graphics glitch you described earlier? The lines on the screen? I'm hoping the new driver at least got rid of that?
As for the CTRL-T or party-size connection...CTRL-T could definitely lead to stutter like this on the map, depending on the computer. There are more parties and more calculations going on in Floris than in Native, not to mention the improved graphics...so it will be more taxing.
The graphics glitch is not there as much, thank you for the help! Moving the camera around on the map I do see a line 1/3 away from the top of the screen that starts moving upwards as I move the camera around, and then starts back at 1/3 away from the top again. Definately better than before, but still a minor issue. It doesn't bother me though.
As for CTRL-T, I had no problems in Floris 2.4, I even tried it in Gameplay 2.5 and it still happened. I would think my 6 core, 8gig computer would be able to handle all those calculations without a hitch. Which is why this is confusing to me.
The above code is without script errors...which is surprising given the problem. Can you confirm that there are no errors by opening the Quests/Notes window and looking under "Recent Messages" (they should be printing to the rlg_log...but just in case there's something goofy).
So, without script errors boggling things...and given your CPU should be more than up to the task and your RAM is sufficient and you mention graphics glitching, I'm guessing this is a video/graphics driver problem.
Is your ATI driver up to date? There were a few versions of the Catalyst driver that were murder for Warband. The most recent seems to work fine though.
I'll check the cideo driver and see. I know my wife updated hers and ran into some problems with it so she went back to an older one, but I can see if that will work.
Duh 说:
Did you try the gameplay version and if so is there a difference?
I meant to, but had a nap instead. I'll give that a go too.
*edit* Played a while in Gameplay and it started out ok. However when I went above 20 troops (including companions) it started to stutter. The more troops I added the worse it got.
Here is my file just after a stutter.

I will try looking for an updated driver now.

Gameplay works fine? Could you share an rgl log from when the stutter happens? I believe you are the first person to report worldmap stutter so any information bits would help. Did this happen for you right away or after a period of time?
The stutter also happens when resting too, and it pretty much happens right away. I think once it didn't do it, but as soon as I came out of a town it started up again.
Here is the file, but its after I closed the game down. Do you want me to try and grab it as soon as the stutter happens?

No crash here, but I am getting pausing on the main map. It will move forward two steps then pause for 2-3 seconds and repeat constantly.
Also when first loading the game I have to zoom out the main map to the highest point, then back down again or the graphics will bugger up. Basically it looks like a line or two across the map is endlesly repeating.
My system:
AMD Phenom II x6 2.6ghz
8 gb ram
1 gb ATI 5750
64 bit Win 7
I am using the extended 2.5.
The pausing is the most annoying as it means taking forever to go from town to town.
Glad you like it.
Download the Bugfix Patch 2.41a. You can find a link in the second post of this thread, or it has it's own thread, near the top of the non-stickied threads.
But... Now I am at day 202 and every time the Bank Report screen comes up (either I bring it up or automatically) its stuck there. Nothing I can do will get me out. I've even tried withdrawing all my money from all the banks and it still does it. I have had no problems until this happened. I've also tried multiple saves from different points and by day 202-203 bank screen comes up and it just stays here.
Right to Rule says it all...This sums your recognition from other lords.
It can be increased by sending companions to spread the word that you are a claimer for the throne of calradia, by marrying, by making peace with other factions.
In the 'Character' report there is a line called 'Right to Rule'. What is this and how do you increase it? Do you need it to have other factions treat you as equals if you start your own faction?
(Sorry if this was asked before, I did do a search, but pulled up every 'to' on the boards. Plus a...
Ok so I was a Rhodock's merc for 3 months. During this time I was given a castle and two villages to take care of. Now at the end of the 3 month merc contract I renewed for another month and then decided to go for broke and become a vassal. So I talked to the king and did that. My faction...
I've noticed that too. It's as if the arrow flies not from your bow but from somewhere above and to the left of your character, isn't it? It's very frustrating.
You sure about that? I've tested that and I can't seem to get any kind of measurable result that would suggest that. Plus I have trouble shooting even while standing still.
Breathe in, let out half your breath and loose... Or am I confusing that with something else?
Which brings me to one thing I find humourous... In the game when you meet up with a 'belligerent drunk' and you go to fight him, if you switch to your bow the tavernkeeper says 'No Shooting!'. Shooting? I didn't think that made it into the vocabulary until after firearms? But thats just a minor little thing I noticed.
Now I'm starting to see 'Wounded (Wounded)' after battles instead of troop or companion names. Not on all, but on some.
My moral is in the low 30's for some unknown reason. Maybe its cause I've been following the marshall around for a bloody month now and I'm still not doing anything but following him around.
Oh and the pathfinding on the map is idiotic. The marshal tries to head to a town that might be getting sieged on, but takes a messed up route. (following dead ends and such)
Plus with pretty much every Count following behind (while towns are getting raided he heads in the other direction that he first started off in), if an enemy party crosses our path, nobody stops to attack em, if I attack em they'll join in, but if I don't they'll just let it go on by.
Oh yeah, after a battle if the Marshall is beat up, he'll head back to his castle and the other lords spread out and do their own thing, yet I still have to follow his broke butt and wait for him, if I take off and try and do my own thing I get warnings I'm supposed to follow the marshall.
I just finished a battle where I went in with +5 moral for recent events and after my victory I had a -5 moral for recent events.
I think it may be time to put this down until it works without annoying me. Back to the original M&B for some fun.
Another issue (which i believe also has been mentioned) is that there is only one siege ladder and the troops often get stuck I've been very frustrated by personally killing over half of the defenders and then dying when my troops cant even get over the wall after I've cut a very large path for them. Hopefully these will be addressed in the upcoming patches.
Yup. I've had exactly the same problem. Very annoying.
Also some other issues.
I don't get XP (after victory) when I join a siege?
I'm a mercenary for Rhodocks and the marshall has been having me JUST follow him around. Its been two weeks of this and no other missions or anything (BORING!). I have to do 3 months of this?
Follow the townsman mission you can kill everybody and can't complete the mission. I believe in M&B you could not kill everybody, you just knocked the important ones out. If this is 'as designed' shoot the designer.
