Now I got the point: the bow with no side arm is to prevent the arena of being a source of easy money. To fight the arena you need to have minimum stats, otherwise it would be a goldmine. There is no easy way to become a millionaire. Thank you guys to leading me, and possibily other players, to enlightment!

Yes, I agree 100% with you, but the point of this topic is discussing that fighting with only a bow is harder than fighting with other weapons.

Tournaments are faster and cheaper. Winning three tournaments you get enough money to buy mail, a spear or lance, hunter, helmet and hiring you precious mercenary company.

So: tornamentes give you a lot of money and renown, but if you loose, you loose a lot of money too. What pisses me off(and other players as well) is losing a tournament because of a damn bow.

Yeah, that's right, but in a game where the balance is so esteemed, this sounds a bit wrong.

Tournaments are really NOT that hard.  There's plenty of money to be made, and if a player gets screwed with a weapon he doesn't like once in awhile, then so be it.  As it stands now, the game is too easy anyway.

Most people do not like losing 800 denars just because they got a bow. And, depending what you call A LOT of money, money isn't that plenty at all, specially at the beginning.

Have you ever tried punching an armoured opponent armed with a sword?? 
You may be able to punch him one or two times before having your face torn apart. Oh, and hitting the head is quite useless.

Exactly. The arena isn't there to provide you with easy money. You knew your character was weak, you knew the tournament was going to be bow-heavy, and you bet all your money anyway. And now you're complaining about it.

Yeah, I known, but if you received some kind of sidearm, like a "practive dagger", you would have have some chance of defending youserlf, even with poor athlectics.

Let's leave the "I'm a super-uber-chuck-norris-asskicker-warrior-and-you-sucks" stuff for a while and picture the folllowing not-so-rare situation:
I've just created a new game, spawned in vaegir lands, and there is a tournament going on in Curaw . I sell my gear to have money to bet on the arena, and the fighting begins. At each round I bet 100 denars, then 50, 25, 10, 1. All my money is in stake. All the times I got a bow either I was mounted or had buddies to backup me. Alright, now I'm in the last tier, me vs. Dranton(or Xerina, or Kradus, whatever). He gets a sword and a shield. I, the poor bastard, get a freakin' bow! So here we are: a champion, with full mail, shield, sword, helmet, and lightspeed walk. Me, a merchant, with a bow, 1 or 2 athlectics, a 100 pounds a useless stuff agaist his 10" diameter arms, in a smaller-than-I-wish arena. I have the chance to hit 3 or 4 arrows at him, some hits the shield, others his foot. Ok, he has 56 hitpoints, and I have 48. I now begin to run backwards while aiming at him, and "im lucky enough to him an arrow at him as he was preparing the attack. But as I get my 2nd arrow ready, his sword i arleady in my face. Another hit and, guess what, I'm down! I lost the tournament, the money, the equipament, and 20 minutes of my life. Now I'll have to create a new character.

I saw this mod thread and I was really interested about it, since I've watched and liked this movie. I understand that you could use som help with models, since there are very few exclusive models. So I decided to help a bit, and today I've finished moddeling what I belive being a Reaver Axe. Sorry if this isn't the right place to post it, but I'd like some commentaries.

Finalmente um interessado! Muito obrigado pelo seu interesse e pela sua dedicação! Só que temos uns problemas ante para resolver. O primeiro é a variante do português a ser traduzida. Eu proponho a criação de duas equipes: uma brasileira e outra portuguesa. Pois assim não teremos frazes com "tu" e outras com "você", além dos "estar a fazer", etc... Armada, por que você não começa a chamar gente para a tradução portuguesa, e eu pra brasileira? Como o você falou, também seria interessante pelo menos um a pessoa em cada equipe que fosse versada em espanhol (ou turco...) para ajudar a tradução. Ou também pode-se traduzir os arquivos em inglês no formato txt em "C:\...\Modules\Native" e jogar a tradução nos arquivos em SVD da pasta "C:\...\Native\Langages".
Aguardo comentários.

Leave petruz alone, he's just joking. I don't believe he's so dumb like that. If he was Portuguese he would just write in Portuguese, "ora pois!" Look at his profile: his 1st languange is English!

P.S.- Brazil got independent from Portugal..
      Since this event.. They are a different country..

Ok, você disse que o Brasil e Portugal são países diferentes. Certo. Porém, aqui no Brazil, nós falamos Português, assim como vocês aí em Portugal, Angola, Moçambique, etc. (tomara que não esteja equecendo de nenhum). Só que no Brasil algumas palvras, verbos e, principalmente, o sotaque são diferentes. Mas isso não faz do Português brasileiro uma outra língua. Na Argentina, Paraguai, Bolívia, Equador, México, etc. todos eles falam espanhol, porém não é exatamente o MESMO espanhol da Espanha. O mesmo com os EUA. Se você quiser ajudar a tradução, dê uma passadinha no fórum Português.

Quem estiver interessado em traduzir o jogo poste aqui. Como o ThVaz disse, precisaremos entrar constantemente no site da webster para pesquisar algumas(ou muitas) palavras, e este não será um trabalho rápido, fácil e muito menos simples. Vamos formar uma equipe o mais rápido possível.

Well, if you have some time to spare, you could try to insert some firearms from some existent mods. I guess there is a minimod wich inserts fireams and guns merchants... The only problem is that this minimod is to 0.808. If you know python, you could try adding these items by yourself. Otherwise, you could just wait someone to do that for you. Good luck in your quest!

Eu postei essa pergunta de como traduzir e me responderam agora pouco. Aqui vão as intruções:
Basta checar as pastas "language" na pasta "C:\Arquivos de Programs\Mount&Blade" e criar uma nova pasta com o nome "pt" e traduzir os três arquivos que tem lá do inglês(ou espanhol, turco...) para o português, depois ir na pasta "Modules\Native" e fazer o mesmo com os arquivos já existentes.
Agora só falta montar uma equipe de tradutores e começar a digitar...
