  1. Bannerlord is mis-advertised by the devs on Steam (yes, even taking into account Early Access)

We all know it's "Early Access", but at the moment, TW are not living up to their own advertised blurb on the Steam page of a: "stable experience where you may encounter obscure bugs". https://store.steampowered.com/app/261550/Mount__Blade_II_Bannerlord/

So lets analyze this statement... "very much stable and playable and players can expect to run into obscure bugs"? That is blatant mis-advertisement. This game suffers from MANY obvious bugs that affect core gameplay. Many features are also broken or missing and crashes are frequent for many people. The most recent patch also broke the game for many people.

This mis-advertisement of the game opens them up to potential legal issues and would certainly justify refund requests after the usual Steam period has expired. Even if a game is sold as "Early Access", to charge pretty much a full price for a game in this state, knowing that many people will buy it regardless as they are die-hard Warband fans and also because many reviewers and Youtubers re hyping it to hell and back, is in my view cynical and bordering on unethical.

For the record, I do like this game and am excited at the potential of it... but I will wait for a few more big patches before investing more time into it due to the very rough state it is in.

If you don't use the Beta branch than it is stable. I have only ever crashed 2 times on the non-beta branch in 122 hours and the most game-breaking bug I've seen is the attacking siege AI not knowing how to get up siege towers.
  2. Can my girl avatar marry a princess?

    and then adopt children?

Using the Gay Marriage mod, you can still have children but adoption is not an option. You have three options, your wife can get pregnant, you can get pregnant, or the default option is no children. Obviously two females can't really get each other pregnant, but you can pretend they have a surrogate.
  3. wife never gets pregnant. days 240 with her maybe from 160 days

Nah, mine was far far away from me and was still pregnant 4 times, after that l decided that's enough kids, and take her with me in party, get pregnant with twins. And 3 more kids.
    So it's complete randome.

I must just have crazy luck because my wife would never get pregnant when not in my party, but constantly when in my party.
  4. wife never gets pregnant. days 240 with her maybe from 160 days

You have to either have your wife in your part while traveling around or wait for a long time in the same castle/town that she is in as well. You can't get your wife pregnant if you aren't in close proximity.
  5. Vland troops are extremely good.

What are they changing? I don't see anything about a roster shakeup or more noble line recruitment

Lord parties have more experienced troops and fewer recruits. They also use their party size limit as much as possible.

I can't say how big the effect is as I was only on 1.3 for a day before reverting due to some issues I've read about.
  6. I can't believe the devs took this feature out of the game

I liked Ymira the best because you could make her into whatever you wanted.
  7. Too easy to obtain land?

Too easy to get land? I mean, in a lot of ways the game doesn't really start until you get land, so no, I wouldn't say it's too easy.

Maybe if the early game offered more than hunting bandits I'd agree.
  8. Troop exp gains need to be looked at per troop type.

Most players have probably experienced this but I think a troops efficiency needs to be taken into account when the game calculates how much exp it takes to level or how much exp said troop type gets per kill. It is far easier to level up ranged units in the game because of how efficient and...
  9. Vland troops are extremely good.

It's a lucky day if I see the AI bring more than 8 Fians in a 70 stack
We'll see, 1.3 aims to change that.
  10. Vland troops are extremely good.

    ^ Yep.

Another fix that might help Vlad xbows is making it so shields always block attacks whether they're equipped or not. The huge shields their Crossbow users have would be pretty effective at protecting them if even when they had them on their back it protected them. (Currently it only protects them while they have it equipped, can shoot/hack right through it when it's on their back)

Instead of that, there should be a mechanic for Pavise shields that lets them work like they historically did. That is to say that they can deploy them as mobile piece of cover to stand behind. This is how crossbowmen reloaded their crossbows in safety.
  11. A fix for spears and cavalry (video)

Except that it's not true at all. Heavy cavalry continued charging up until 20th century. Refer to gendarmes, winged hussars for 16-17th century examples. They charged against pike&shot formations a lot and were often successful.

There are certain exceptions like the winged hussars, but I'm not going to bring up every edge case to further prove my point. The point is, frontal charges by cav were not uncommon during the time period.
  12. A fix for spears and cavalry (video)

I think it's actually more up to the horse.

So you're saying it was a myth but also not a myth?
Sorta, as with anything, it's nuanced. During the period the bannerlord 2 tries to depict, early medieval, frontal charges with heavy cav was very much a thing that was done and still effective.

The idea that it was never done at any point, or was a bad strategy at any point is the myth. This is part of what shaped military tactics changes. Massed Pikes and the advent of the Halberd were strategies that were developed specifically to counter how effective frontal cavalry charges were. After that point, frontal cavalry charges were rendered (mostly) ineffective as along as those units were on the field and deployed to counter a charge.
  13. Lance couching seems useless right now.

Sure it does a lot of damage, but why when just stabbing while charging does enough to kill as well. On top of that, the hit window for a couched lance is tiny and harder to aim, as well as having to be charging directly at the person you want to hit, rather than at enough distance that you can...
  14. Vland troops are extremely good.

Have you even fought Battania? The Empire?

Battanian archers are just as good in melee as range, and the empire units have more armor than any other units with spears and large shields, and better heavy cav than Vlandia to boot.

There are factions that are a lot more powerful than Vlandia.
  15. A fix for spears and cavalry (video)

It's a myth that Cav never frontally charged during battle and only charged flanks. During the early Medieval times, before massed pikes became a common tactic, frontal cavalry charges were not uncommon and they were successful. It really wasn't until Pikes and Halberds wielded by trained and disciplined infantry becoming much more prevalent that caused Cav to have to stop frontal charging. At that point it became the norm for cav to either charge from flanks or even dismount and fight on foot as heavy infantry.

It's a very video gamey thing that dictates that cav get beaten by spears so soundly or that they have to rear charge to be effective.
