I Think My New Sword Has Been Bunted

This is where anything that crushes through blocks helps, 2 handed swords for example eat Hussars and horses for breakfast, just get the hand crafted or masterwork ones for better speed on the swings.

how do i ask for feasage?

probably got Fealty mixed up with Vassalage

some people have suggested backing a claimant to a throne, and once you have the backing of a few lords rebeling against them. (i am unsure if you keep them on your side)

Or maybe they reffer to the nation relations, im not sure however if nations with good relations will ride to your rescue on their own. I do know that if you start a fight with an enemy near a friendly army they can join you in battle (i love leading a larger army towards a 3rd party then turning it around to out number them)

    Party Size

Buying cattle and having them follow the army is how to feed them.. a walking menu item.

    where are armors, arms??

For another option, burn and loot all the villages you can repeatedly (the faction you choose to loot will hate you for it) using a cavalry army of about 50 will ensure you dont have to fight the villagers and if you have pathfinding skills you can out run almost anything as an army.

Sell the goods at the nearest friendly town, rinse and repeat.. check the vendors in town and pick any choice bits of gear you like if you have the ill gotten gains to afford them.

Can someon explain how trade works?

Someone stated it will not show you options that you cannot afford, this is not true.. plenty of times i have clicked and was told i didnt have the cash.

Reason they dont appear is you need a 45,000 trade permit to trade in luxury goods (salt, silk, velvet, spices)

    Defending towns/castles as a cossack

I agree, time to leave them to it and go snag another city.. sometimes you dont get time to re-enforce a garrison. When you get another town dump your troops in it and high tail it to a merc camp to beef up your numbers. If you dont want to run all i can suggest is snipe and stab specifically the Hussars as they give your troops greif. or try to let the enemy swamp your guys and then engage the enemies back with your weapon of choice. your main problem here is the battle advantage system where they get to field more troops at one time and you get less based on it.

Some grenades may be of use too

    Smolensk unbesiegeable?

I have noticed on occasion that an "enemy" factions town, gives no option to siege because it's owner is neutral to you personally. To fix this find the town attached to the city and loot/ Burn it  then you should get a siege option on the castle itself as it's lord now hates you

so go burn them, burn them all

    Mercenary Experience

I have had mine train up (if you or companions have the training skill) also big battles seems to level them up well.
Eventually they go all the way up to Elite, but are always at recruit when hired.

    Lords

I have a question about how the war lords and other nobles function in game. Is it possible to recruit them to your cause when you are playing a a rebel faction ? running around solo trying to fend off people is a real time waster.

    About Mercenary Equipment

If i could expand the original posters question.
Can we get stats for the gear options for Merc's and a pic of what a generic troop type looks like wearing it in combat?

that way we can balance style with effectiveness

    trouble with caravans

Most likely the price for tools in that town is low then add in taxes and relationship with town/ faction and trade skill.

i scout out towns by having a few choice items like salt, velvet, spice, tools on me (only 1 of each) and compare who likes what.

the reverse is true when buying a caravan.. find a town who will buy tools for 30 or less, sell them the one your carrying (if they have none in stock to enable a tools caravan), arrange a caravan, buy back your tool from the merchant then run the caravan.. oil / tools to Moscow and T'ver seems to be good.

Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword features you'd like to see in Mount & Blade 2

Maybe i havent read the manual (correct me if i have missed it) but id like a feature where i can order improvements and appointments in every little village and fort without having to attend personally (and draging my army with me for protection). Some sort of  messenger relay system with a delay for travel time.

I'd also like to appoint my own lords (or warlords) even though im classed as a  "rebel" faction.
I'd like sides who have no cities left to suffer from lack of pay, lack of food and the same recruitment penalties we get (such as only getting mercenaries at a capped rate per day / week), i have wiped out poland but i still get seiged by 1400 troops with many top tier city only units. i have decided the only way to put them to rest is to capture them 1 by one and never release the polish lords from prison

How do I recruit troops? (Polish [Rebels])

Also if you upgrade infantry to top gear they do not die easily ! i take on castles of 200+ with 80-100 mercs and only loose 10 troops on average, i make them up by recruiting any freed prisoners who are wearing plate armor on their picture as this reflects their real gear

    Some questions on conquering castles

Conquering castles is easy if you build upgold via trading, fire all random troops and hire all infantry mercenaries (i chose polish troops). Upgrade them to max gear, best single handed weapon and shields.

I am melee focused and have a custom 2 handed sword with heavy armor (you'll need it), your troops can take a hell of a beating now, just storm the place, does not matter how, order troops to hold position behind a major feature to prevent sniping (behind houses near a wall if you can) the enemy troops make a bee line for your army, stand near them to the side and hack away at exposed backs as fast as you can, i kill maybe 50 or more troops by myself in each fight.. i have beaten back siges of 1600 troops versus my 109 in my own castle with this tactic.. after 300 deaths the enemy retreats and re-groups.

I have single handedly wiped out poland with no faction ties, renown is through the roof 300 +
    try it for yourself

    Useful tips to players

Can I ask how useful bows are in comparison to grenades/firearms?
They are good for killing of unarmored lower tiers troops. Mid tier and upper tier are always armored so it's better to use a firearm.
Tatars use a lot of bows, Cossacks and Moscovites and Poles use less.  Bows can be useful when you're not fighting a lot. I always buy a double barrel pistol its fast and you can reload it while moving.

Have you noteced that other marksmen can reload their musket while running?
Weird might be a bug or just so it shall be? but not realistic when players cant.!

On the contrary, i have been able to re-load while running using a pistol. I believe the game mechanics take into account if it is a carbine / pistol/ rifle and wether you need to be stationary to load the larger weapon.
